  1. "kalabta kalabta dhashay, yaa ximaar dheh"...LOL MMA>..man..I did this for a while too, I mean Kalab kalabta...u know modeling..but thank God I wasn't sucked into it..when I got out of it...but it gets tempting..sometimes...especially while they keep on increasing tuition....darn!...I hate the budget cuts..and the current presidency.... I can only hope that the next generation is rather smart but not desperate....however, I can understand if one is tempted to do it(but I hope this is not the case)..being recruited from the slams of Eastleight....can desperately initiate one to take up some "forbidden" occupations...especially if your family is desperately clinging on to life back in war-torn Somalia..... PS:...Admin..ay! wassup with giving Londoners the moderating status/title/job   ?? Especially the Womens' threads...  ..OOOOOKeeey!!..where is the other piece of the cake for others...like moi..I mean I not that good but atleast I can write

  3. "Thank god that they wasnt any black crims."....I guess my fellow nomads have 'raised' this questions already??....what are we supposed to side with you comment  What a shallow-mind you got there.....( UNCF-A mind is a terrible thing to waste )..dont be one of the victims . "Oh my gosh, I was sitting near one"..what do you expect once you get to prison...meet bunch of retired hollywooders...plz??.. Have you ever watched a series called: SCARED STRAIGHT?? my speculation is that you weren't scared at all...you just went there to make fun of them sick people...and by the way the prisoners were either under influence of some substance or were mentally ill when they committed the crime...that's why Iam here writing and they are secluded in isolation..get it  ..gal..they are not SILLY
  4. I always sign off with: keep the flavor... man, you can't imagine how many books i have signed with that signature ...back in the dayz it used to be..keep the flavor of the old school- a chorus verse by some lady canadian singer(forgot her name)

    BIG BIG DILEMMA

Abaayo..getting wired nowdayz can bring lots of unrealistic visuals into live.....so like others said...confront him with the evidence before can make a final decision. Tagane..I read that article a while back and was saddened about it..but what can you do..mindyou, the terrible discovery is that story-telling goes into way back to Somalia relating the existence of such acts. However, permissing the acts more open environmentally here in this country. Ya Allah! what are coming to
  6. MMA..waryaa..Ok..I see where you are going with this....Fine!..I will retrieve back to my RAULANESS...However, If I had to choose..maybe Waaji-Makoroofi..atleast I know what it means in swahili but for you, here they are: Ojwang Mzee-kipara waryaahee How about those
  7. MMA..ileen waaliwadhnooshahay..(man I told you to help me with my somali..but you refused...see now I dont even know if I wrote the right wordings)... hey, why dont you make up one for me too...just for the sake of it... u funny dude
  8. nafta and Cap-soul..loooooooool..(I mean this aint no laughing matter.-definately not!!).but just they way you cuss that SOB out is hilarious.. I dont need to say more-the above 2 posts basically speak of my view.
  9. "ONE OF OUR BROTHERS IS IN JAIL FOR LIFE IN MN, FOR KILLING HIS WIFE AFTER HE CATCH HER SLEEPING WITH ANOTHER GUY."... Qoslaye..plz be caustious of what you say..like Serenity said....making judgements of some story is not your perfection..and besides the girl is dead(allahu-rehman). You have no idea of what the family is going through..dont be sucked in a flood of confusion and Dambi. To answer you Q: why are men then allowed to have 4 wives?(w/islamic conditions). There are so many reasons that can make one become involved with a married man..However, Iam not suggesting that one CHEATS, ofcourse a taboo religiously.
  10. Captivating Soul..walaalo I side with your view about the whole thing. My anticipation of the thread of the Question asked was that I would get some insight about the match and not some tribal-bull crap!!(and Q-storm Iam not assuming or exergerating)..apparently you have caused some confusion in your post-mapping and I hope you are really not that kind of a person. Qoute by Q-storm replying to MMA"..LoooooL man we don’t destroy flags, that flag represent Somalia and it’s a nice flag to destroy………naaa it’s not our thing we believe in democracy and we respect others values." ...ok does anyone recognize the conflicting message here...we dont destroy...blah! blah!..but we do the Somali flag.. Raxmah..I feel you pain..my family been through the same thing..but I would not support or side with one party or region or Somalia. I wish I could take out my anger on the former regime or one that exists now..but thank to Allah, I was not installed with such hatred and mentality(unlike others!).. Iam barely Somali-politic minded...(coz I think most of it is purely Qabiil-centralized) and I barely post on the political forums..but I guess you know they say ....SILENCE IS GOLDEN..sometimes..

    Maturity

In my perception, I would say all the above: age(one becomes certainly wiser as they grow older ), Education(whether formally or informally-not the only description in the western world but both-I would define it as having the skills to survive in this world-whether you have a Doctoral degree or just a mere fisherman's skill to survive the rowdy seas), and lastly but not least Life experiences-definately! the more one gets a broader perspective of the whole, the more it broadens/differs one's views on the general outlook of life. So for me, all the above, not one without the other .
  12. Ok Quite storm..aint no one depriving you from supporting your "people" even though i consider all somalis to be a family, and by the way a family has ups and downs of their own..however, its up to the family to avoid separation and work in unity for the better of all(I dont think that I need to mention the proverb about unity and division). "I started to support North Star and my blood boils to the boiling point, you see blood is thicker then water and we somalilanders will never forget what the Somali government did to us back in the civil war and how they used to call us names and degrade our prides and culture."...dont be pessimistic and one tribal-minded dear, because there are minority tribes and clans that have not NEVER enjoyed the previous "fruitful" prosperity of the older regimes and here you are only contesting about the atrocities committed against one tribe or ethninicy. Mind you it's not the whole tribe that suffered, probalby couple of individuals. What would the sub-bordinates think?? There are many who are suffering now and have been for generations, and for an "educated" and broad-minded individual like you to be thinking of only emphasizing and enforcing the same horrorndeous acts and code of attitude that existed years back at this age is buffling, sad and sickening  . I think there is a somali proverb that emphasizes the act of forgiving, and being better than the other who acted a fool to begin with. Have some sense
  13. lol Shyhem... Bernie Mac's version: Q: Did the chicken cross the road A: I don't know why the motherF***ing reason the chicken crossed the motherF***ing road. Hell, but ama show them in my motherF***ing hood that we dont MotherF***ing play like dat, motherF***ers .
  14. Tamina and especially Fly-girl if feel you pain..I miss my mother dearly . Besides that I miss travelling miles and miles to compete in primary school sports(middle school in the American system). Man that's the hardships of leaving in rural kenya with Kenyati kaa xoogweyn(i hope I wrote the somali OK-I meant "strong"kenyans). The highlight though was witnessing the circumsion parades and traditional dances/folk songs by other Kenyan tribes , the chrismans parades and choir/drama competitions(BOMAS OF KENYA-in Nairobi ). If you have lived in rural kenya...u might know of what Iam talking about .
  15. Nice motive..I like that...hey Iam up for anything that is for the "masses" of the somali population. I hope that one day, we will get to witness this really happening... Oh I forgot the slogan..and I can't write it better either..but I support it..

  21. what would be wrong with putting an end to an unislamic, inhumane and an old horrondeous tradition in its place where it belongs..I mean whether the act of couragesness was acted out by a foreigner or a strong familiar somali women....does it need to be bashed by another Somali...see, that's why we somalis' have trouble understanding each other..I mean when a foreigner does an act of braveness, we support it..but when it comes from within the community...there suddenly an opposition or speculation. Qaqa..u might be right to speculate on the issue but are you in any position to understand the motive behind Hawa's leadership?
