All in all: I, too, am domestically challenged. lol...have u looked in the mirror lately....with ur looks sweetie...u don't need to learn how to cook...EVER... Looool. we're in the same boat markaas; I better measure the Acct. for an apron size: Don't worry though Mama did always say he could cook better than most women she knew. B.T.W Good luck in school walaal and insha'allah I hope you ace all your tests. (He told me that they considered a grade below 98% failing  )
  5. My mother. She's the only person in the world whose needs I put before mine and the only person I love unconditionally.
  6. Well there is one nomad (My role model and Insha'allah a future sister-in-law ) I know who is in her 2nd year of Med School. I'm still flirting with the idea of being pre-med or going into field research: But either way I plan to obtain a professorship insha'allah.

  8. Inadequacy, insecurity, dishonesty, and lack of ambition, flakiness yada yada yada: but most of all dayuusnimo and immaturity. Also those that equate being or acting like a "Somali" (whatever that means  ) with jaahilnimo or regression. This applies to the opposite as well as my own sex.
  9. It's not so much about caring as it's about doing the right thing walaal. On a sidenote: May Allah bless the individuals who donated the money as well as those volunteers and workers that lent a helping hand in distributing the food Aamiin.
  10. I wish I had retracted my first hello Replacing it with a bidding of adieu I wish I could have blinded myself To all the good I have seen in you For never did I believe your hands Could hold me down so forcefully As your repugnant breath I breathed Without care and tears: unmercifully Never did I dream you'd ignore my cries: My pleas of desist as your speed increased Never did I envision hate would lay acclaim to Your breast: Anticipate it would be expressed Never did I think questions I have Would remain without your answers Unable to believe: A beautiful soul Violated as if you are my body' cancer I feel exposed: Passed around like horve d'oeuvres What is the purpose of my limbs? Were they fashioned merely to clench yours? For such a proposed proposition, never Did I grant: So was it worth it? Worth Buckling under the weight of regret: For taking such a destructive measure Worth forgoing my permission for 5 minutes of your satiable pleasure? Such a treasure you could of claimed By the mere tying of a loose knot: Yet you did not: You opened it without voicing askance And though now you are no more, see To me than just a regrettable past tense The blow dealt, I hold forever: I bleed for you as if you were my mense My affliction: an unfortunate association An aberration: in my remaining lifespan A familiarity that become the unfamiliar A bond of trust that lays but unbounded A terrible secret kept in secrecy: a shame Not felt for myself: I'm but your victim But for you: rapist; knowing I declined P.S I wrote this in a rush dude/ette (excuse the irregularity): I wanted to post a reply ever since I read this poem but somehow I just couldn't (Go figure); it just had that effect on me and not many people write about such a topic so kudos to you.
  11. ^But men, walaal, have either a wife or a girlfriend who has given birth and maybe, just maybe they might wish to help her out while she is on her maternity leave  I believe this whole article was motivated by jealousy! Notice the first word in the title of the Article hablo; I'm quite sure that is a word, which doesn't apply to the dear professor. If you give 100 per cent to the job - if you behave like a man - the fact that you are a woman will not stop you So being driven, ambitious, dedicated and sacrificing your personal desires for your professional aspirations is behaving like a man? If anybody is killing feminism it's women that hold beliefs similar to hers. Naden wrote: 'An end to the millennia during which women of all classes shared the same major life experiences to a far greater degree than men. Was there ever a time when women of all classes shared the same 'major life experiences'? Never mind that most women will work for a living and raise families and care for elderly parents and parents-in-law. Those are not shared life experiences? Or does sisterhood apply only when rights are lacking and most women share the burden of unpaid work? Afkaada caano lagu shub maandhay.

Qabiil: Killing me softly My father is of Clan X And my mother belongs to clan Y I have Grown older Seen much Heard more I forever swallow vicious rumors Fed to me by selfish hands That would surely stab my back When I turn away I am forced to choose sides divide my loyalties as if my love understands boundaries I am a love child With a the seed of hate Sprouting with within my heart Its roots firmly entrenched And hard to rip out Everyday, without delay It grows, branches and spreads like weeds Chocking everything in comes in contact with Forgiveness, peace, tolerance, and love Wither away and fade How could one tiny seed Cause such havoc in the garden of my soul? Because it’s sunlight is my anger For which it reaches for eagerly And I water it daily with my salty tears Unintentionally foolishly I nurture it When I listen to lies And refuse to speak out When I close my eyes To the truth in front of me When I follow popular opinion Instead of the Quran I am a love child Slowly dying inside -SOL's own Dark Angel (Seeking paradise) '05
  13. If you make her drink from the same watering hole as those animals maandhow, you will be pumping drugs of a different kind in to her body. And who is to say if the people of Kuntuwaarey are paragons of abstinence? They might be worse ® than the ones you are taking her away from.
  14. No, I certainly don't! How can it lead to it when promiscuity existed before we even had knowledge of genital HPV  This shouldn't even be a debate maandhow: No human being should ever find him/herself in a position where they either feel the need to control the genitalia of the people or force their religious beliefs on others. Mida kale, abstinence programs aren't going to make much of a difference nor are they going to curb any teen's desire to experiment with sex; if anything such a negation would inflame it and as evidenced by the high rate of HIV infected teens, apparently the majority of them aren't even using the encouraged preventive methods but without them where would we be?
  15. But, who would believe they would actually block approval of a vaccine that can prevent cancer? Now that above else is just sad. As for spending money on abstinence programs (What a waste), they should use it to finance more noteworthy research projects, particularly the one I plan to do in couple of years insha'allah.
  16. GM: I may be one but you made it an art form. I thought the face looked familiar but I couldn't place it dee.
