Somaliland Interior Minister Dr Mohamed Abdi Gabose told reporters Monday that the ONLF ethnic Somali rebels who are fighting against Ethiopia's government were being searched for by Somaliland security forces in Awdal region, at a mountain range where the international borders of Somalia, Ethiopia and Djibouti intersect. Somaliland President Ahmed Silanyo Somaliland officials claim that the group of ONLF fighters, who reportedly number between 200 and 700 men according to conflicting reports, landed secretly at Zeila coast in Awdal region of northwestern Somalia (present-day Somaliland). Dr Gabose, the Somaliland government's interior minister, alleged that the suspected ONLF rebels wer "trained in Eritrea." But a senior member of ONLF who identified himself as the rebel group's deputy commander told Mogadishu-based radio stations that "no ONLF fighters are trained in Eritrea." He also denied that any ONLF fighters landed in Somaliland. Some Somaliland-based media agencies have reported that fighting broke out in the mountain area, but these reports have not been independently verified. Inside sources say the reports of fighting could be an attempt to "save face" for the performance of Somaliland security forces

Niina, there is nothing personal or even clanist about my views towards Sharif. Yusuf happens to be my uncle but that’s a coincidence of fate. To me he was strong clear, made mistakes but his overall record was better than any who sought the Somali leadership of late. My favorite Somali leader of all time, and hero is Adan Abdulla Osman [Adan Ade] our founding father, May Allah bless his soul, to me he is the very example of what the future Somali leader should be. Yusuf project of restoring the state has not died, it has been deferred to a later day by the actions of Sharif & the fake “divinely” led holly morons still wasting the nation’s time. Even after two years its clear that Yusuf was closest to restoring stability and he got many things right. As for the development, no dear Somalia is poor and backward not because of division but the old regime concentrated on arms and an army and build only single city. Thus when they rebelled the arms were brought to the shinning city in the hill which is still burning. Again let me spell it out for you, Puntland and its development is good not just for my clan, but for all of Somalia. It’s a clear choice between the fakery and mere words of Sharif & Co, and the institution building of the Northern states, that’s why they have lasted and that’s why Sharif who you supported out of gullibility has failed as many analysts warned.
