Shyhem.....what u said makes sense....but believe it or not, its not only women who want to spend that much nowadayz....i've seen a lot of guys who r not willing to have small weddings.....my own cousin is gettin' married next month.....and yeah he's spendin' a fortune he does not have on his wedding.....because he wants it....his wife does not even care....!!! Illmatic....dowry is the maher....its asked by the woman, and the man has to give it to her...not her family.....and he has to give it to her as soon as possible.....its a somali tradition to give it incase of a divorce....!!! But anywayz the other nite i remembered this topic cuz 3 of my 'married brothers with children' came home and sat with my little brother playing games untill 3 in the morning.....!!! Guess what....their cell phones and the home phone wouldnt stop ringing...one of them, his wife kept on calling and sayin' 'get ur butt back in the house, the kid needs caano'...!!! Well guess what....instead of him getting up and getting the kid caano, he made me go buy cano and take it to his house....!!! Let's just say....women dont get that addicted....!!! Salaamz

I dont think all that is caused by America.....its all cuz some pple decide to do something for the sake of Islam without having enough knowledge, or Cilm....!!! Yes some pple make the mistake of getting married without knowing enough about each others....but the length of time they knew each others has nothing to do with the marriage being successful or not.....!!! I have 3 friends who got married to men they knew less than 2 months, and they r all very happy......on the other hand i heard about pple who got divorced even though they dated for years....!!! A good friend of mine just got divorced recently....and he was dating his wife for 3 years...they were married for 6 months....!!! I luv my long soft hair, the package that makes up my face (forehead, eyes, nose, lips, cheeks, smile), hands and other parts i dont need to mention...!!! I'm planning to go to africa this summer, but not somalia.....last nite i suggested to my cousin that we go to somalia for 'dhaqan celis', he screamed at me sayin' what 'dhaqan celis, u mean xabad ha la igu dhufto'....!!!! It does not benifit the society if the woman has multiple husbands.....lets say a woman can give birth to 10 children in her lifetime...a man merries 4 women, he has 40 kids....a woman marries 4 men, she only has 10 kids.....now how da hell is that gonna increase the population...!!!
