  1. The truth is men already know how powerful we are...they are so scared shitless of us, that they have this need to dominate us ..first, as children they teach us to be submissive, then..as we grow older --glass ceiling for women in the workplace --barefoot and pregnant in the homes. Once, women realize they have the power within them..they dont need to unite with other women to realize that they are indeed more intelligent than the male species.. That's what I tell myself every morning lmao
  2. maybe I should stress the word ALL as in "All hijab-wearing..."
  3. Infringing on Allah's rights because I do not want to live under the Shari'a laws of corrupt states? I don't think so. We do not live in a perfect world, and I hardly doubt there will be a "perfect" Shari'a anytime soon. That day will come when all scholars will agree with each other. I'd take my chances, thanks.
  4. I wear hijab. It might not be on my head, but it sure is in my heart.
  5. This topic is pointless. Hijab means more than what you wear on your head. And good luck to the men who think all hijab-wearing sisters are saintly and chaste lmao I think we place too much symbolism on the hijab (the one you wear on your head) as a representative of our religion, and to be honest, it doesnt need to be. Hijab is modesty..not in clothing but in spirit, k. So, yes, a man can be "hijabified" as well. this thread deserves

Come back with some clarity saaxiib. Basically, I choose not to place my rights in the hands of scholars/governments. In the case of the Afghani, they are taking his rights away from him based on their interpretation of the punishement mandated by Allah(saw). If he converts to the wrong religion, let Allah(saw) deal with him. His wrath would be greater that one that any human can inflict upon another human, right? Does anyone know which verse in the Quran addresses the issue of apostates?
  7. In my personal opinion, I wouldn't live in a country that practiced Shari'a Laws. Here's my argument: I'm not going to follow a bunch of laws that even the scholars had disagreeing opinions on. What two countries practice the shari'a the same way? What country practices justly? What about the different schools of thoughts? or even different sects? Who's right? Who's Wrong? I'd rather let GOD (saw) make that JUDGEMENT. Would that make me a non-muslim?

A name is a name..If my name was Jessica, that does not mean it changes the blood in my vains or the faith in my heart. Your post deserves a

The whole weekend, I was resolving one disaster after the other!! My 16yr cuz ran to NY. Another quit school and shacked up with some loser who is not even a high school graduated! And finally, now this one takes the cake!, this ya lady got her green card on Saturday, before she never did partying. I am sitting at home last nite, phone rings, I go hello, she goes, guess what? I am going to a reggae party!! I go, huh! Tomorrow is Monday, did u forget!! She goes, I don’t care! I have my green card and going partying! Now this unlucky lady owes about 40k of student loans and about 20k on credit cards! And this is how she celebrates!! I think shes better off the worlards. I fail to see how this is only a "xaliimo" issue. The state of the Somali male is far worse than those of Somali females. But since you care so much about the lack of education of Somalis, you sure could use a spell check on majority of your posts. Sorry, had to tell it like it is.

  13. what are they going to come up with next?
  14. What about spotting? I mean, is it 100% guaranteed that you will NOT bleed? Personally, its more of a hassle to be taking a pill everyday.
  15. If someone denied the civil war in Somalia, I'd be real pissed.
  16. You are talking about NPC/IFC/LOCAL fraternities and sororities. What they do is there business. There are black, latino, multicultural, asian and other culture-specific fraternities out there..who do not have "kegging" image. Just dont make it seem like ALL of them are like that, because it's not. Otherwise, I would never have joined.
  17. Originally posted by STOIC: The thing i never liked about Sororities and fraternies is the hitting of the keg(beer). When you are a member of these fraternies; you are basically buying freinds. Actually, it seems to me that many of you are not really aware of sororities and fraternities besides what you see on the Television. I belong to a Multicultural Sorority and I can guarantee you that: a) I bdid not buy my friends - my sorority is a non-profit and if we have to do activities/events/diversity forums, we need to be able to cover all the overhead expenses we incur. And my sorority sisters, we are closer than alot of the friends I made in college. That is why it's called a sisterhood. b) We do not condone Drinking. We can't even drink if we have our letters on. We have NEVER hosted nor will host a party that will condone drinking. We are not the only sororities out there who don't do that. Do your research before you spout of your "20/20" version of Sororities. BTW, it's a great sorority, and I've already sent them an email of congrats.
  18. Venting room..what a nice concept! My pet peeve: When there is an issue at hand, PLEASE DO NOT CLOUD THE ISSUE WITH YOUR EMOTIONS AND FEELINGS. Also, God gave you a voice, USE IT. Don't let me do all the talkin' and make me feel like the bad guy 24/7. Don't piggy-back off my assertiveness because you are incapable of speaking your mind when you're supposed to. Then don't continue to raise important issues and when I do, use it as an opportunity to bring up OTHER issues (laced with emotions). ok done venting.
  19. I think it's sad that Saudi Arabia is so backawards. I mean, they control two of our holiest cities, and claim to practice restrictions that didn't even exist in the Prophet's (PBUH) time. It's a damn shame, really!

  21. There's no such thing as Somali Islam..and there never will be.
  22. Originally posted by GEEL-JIRE: There is something un-islamic about it. I can't bear seeing a woman riding a ****** bike, let along a muslim girl. Nah! Bad. Do not do it! bwahahahahaha! Are you serious?
  23. Originally posted by Baashi: I think we all agree with these two points: 1. Rape is a crime. 2. Victim should not be blamed for being raped. Is there any disagreement with these two points? No? Moving on... lol nice!
