  1. Blame it on the woman who managed to save her own life..and not the ten men who were manipulated into killing themselves

  3. I can't say whether I agree or not, but I do know that Iraq has never had to vote for a president for 50 years. And apparantly, Iraqis are showing up to the polls. It must mean they do want to choose their leader. Whether Iraq will always remain a puppet to the hedegomon that is America...is an entirely separate topic!
  4. This seems like a good discussion. A little to philosophical for me to respond....but interesting enough to read...
  5. My philosophy on this whole issue: Why limit yourself to Somali men who think they can marry more than 1 wife? There are tons of Muslim men out there---good and bad! --so many choices..so little time
  6. Originally posted by Jumatatu: Eleven people were hanging on a rope under a helicopter, ten men and one woman. The rope was not strong enough to carry them all, so they decided that one had to leave, because otherwise they were all going to fall. They weren't able to name that person, until the woman gave a very touching speech. She said that she would voluntarily let go of the rope, because, as a woman, she was used to giving up everything for her husband and kids, or for men in general, and was used to always making sacrifices with little in return. As soon as she finished her speech, all the men started clapping their hands....... This made me laugh.... Thanx

Yeah 10 million would-be murderers and sinners, that is! I am so repulsed and sad at the same time. What is this world coming to?
  8. You scored a 56% on the "How Somalian are you?" Quizie!
  9. ^then I would probably say: I feel for you, Brother!

  12. Originally posted by Khayr: Salaamz, Also, sounds like these speakers are more and more trying to accomodate to their 'MODERN' 'PRO-GENDER EQUALITY' 'PRO-LIBERALISM' crowd. Hellz yeah!! In any case, I'm surprised no one mentioned my favorite speaker: Zakir Nair the reference guy! I love the way he references his work so you can go back and verify for yourself. I, like Tam, did not take notes because of low-lighting. canadianized said: Allah used the word "beat" oh yeah? the word beat was in English in the original Arabic Koran? I'm sorry, I must have missed it, what verse is that?
  13. Originally posted by InAndOut: FOR GOD'S SAKE ...LOWER YOUR VOICE! I FIND MY PEOPLE TO BE SPEAKING IN HIGHER PITCHER THAN NECESSARY WHEN THEY HAVE TO...! My roommates(all somalis) are tired of me when i tell them to lower their voices in the library or any where else on campus. I am growing to be sick of that sh*t, and at times, I avoid them knowing that they are too loud. I feel for you, sister!
  14. Why is this stressin' folks out? I don't get it. Somalis ain't all Muslims and it's your duty to give the Message to those who don't know and leave the rest to Allah. Other than that, to each their own!
  15. Originally posted by Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar: Salaan... Folks, I was searching something related to Soomaalis, and quickly came across this thread ee ila aqriya bal: I n the city I live in there are so many Somalis. I like my brothers and sisters from the East and nor do I have any hard feelings but why why why do they have to talk so loud all the time in public... I just spent 30 minutes at a coffee place during lunch to catch up on some reading and there was this Somali guy half way across this big sitting area and everyone, I mean everyone in the coffee shop could hear him talk on the phone. Of course, we don’t know what he was talking about and I don’t care but why does he have to talk so loud? It was so embarrassing . This is what gives us bad names. The problem is, the white {bolds mine} folks can’t tell the difference between Ethiopians and Somali and take as the same . I am embarrassed!!! By another Amxaar/Tigrey poster: I was trying to buy a phone card, Man it tooks me a long time to talk to the grocery store owner. These two gentel men from somali never stop talking. It is hard to interrupt. they don't care about you unless, you keep your mouth open like them. I think they have a luck of respect for others. I don't mean all somalis. You can't compare them with our poeple. Our people have more discipline and respect to others better than any other African countries . From an Itoobiyan forum. _____________ PS, to those who wrote the above sentences, just in case you are reading now as I happened to yours: @#$&% OFF! MMA, why are you telling them to f* off because they are telling the truth. Somali folkz are loud...even by another Somali's standard! They were not lyin'..and we should take this as a constructive critism and help our qaxooti nomads readjust their volumes! lol
  16. Flaws in your argument: Originally posted by Alle-ubaahne: ^^ look my little sister, there is a hadeeth that says, "whoever pretends people in their manners (language, culture, behaviour and so forth) is one of them". Or something in the very essence of this statement, I believe. Please note the bolded. You are interpreting a hadith your way. Then you suggest that you are not even sure (second bold). I said bring me a solid hadith where you did not add your own words to (note the bracketed). And you did not. However, I think, there is a Muslim language, and Gaalo language. can you name all the muslim languages please? **shaking my head**
  17. lol@Gaalo language. I have yet to see an ayaat that says english is Gaalo language..maybe someone can clue the rest of us in. Xu, you have a point. The Imams should realize that not everyone speaks arabic. UD, that article is disturbing. But not surprising that it is France implementing this.
  18. Rayaana, It also has some canadian universities on there too. But there are similar sites like friendster.com and myspace (they are not just for universities)that you can join until your school is listed. My school was only added in November.
  19. I'm having a bad hair day and I have two meetings today :-( **Yes UD, I'm being vain **

  21. It's a guilty pleasure. This season I haven't been watching frequently. So far, I'm pretty loyal to the Las Vegas and SD seasons. Paris sucked..and Philly is on its way there..
