I know that, but there is no constitution that guarantees the rights of citizens to vote and run for public office in whichever state they live in regardless of their clan affiliation. Even in Somaliland no one has got the right to vote in a deegaan baas oonay reerkiisu sheegan. For instance, a HY man in Gabiley has to travel not only to a HY degmo to the east of the country but to his specific sub-sub clan degmo to cast a vote!! During elections voters in Somaliland are shipped like cattle across the land to cast a simple vote. Insanity isn't it? As we all know it, this is also the case in Puntland and koonfuria. Our own MMA can never participate in the upcoming elections in Puntland even if he is a long term resident. So what I meant is, if this clan based system is removed and in its place a British style democracy introduced where voters are required to proof only their residential address to cast a vote, our awful clan politics will perish in a very short time.

What if everyone in koonfuria is given a constitutional right to live, work, own property, study, vote, and run for any political office in any state within the country? On top of that, the federal government distributed funds based on each state's population(residents of all clans), and based on a verifiable population count each state is given proportional representation at the federal level(and Somalis of any clan can represent the state if elected)? With such a system I am sure the clan mentality will be dealt a serious blow.

Axmad Madoobe is a good guy and a friend of Somaliland, we need him there.

Qatari propaganda

They should never have called their offices "embassies" for the title "embassy" entails mutual recognition of sovereignty. The titles "Somaliland office" and "representative" should suffice.

Hantida guud waan kuu gartay in la bililiqaystay waana wax laga xumaado, laakiin ta gaarka looleeyahay ee Hargaysa ku taal oo gacan aan lahayn ku jirta bal noo tilmaan adigoo Alle ka cabsanaya.

True it is not worth joining the Koonfurian politics now, instead he should just set up shop next to villa Somalia and haunt its occupant

Although the points which were agreed on are generally good but I have the feeling that the conference attendees have pushed for the system where ministerial appointments are distributed on the basis of clan affiliation. The system they want is not different than that infamous Koonfurian 4.5 formula. I think the president should be given the choice to appoint his own ministers without worrying about what clan they belong to. That said, it would be paramount for ina Biixi to reform the civil service urgently and remove all the unsuitable workers who were employed due to their clan affiliation. The civil service jobs and government service contracts should be based solely on merit. We don't need a government department filled with people getting paid for doing nothing just because they hail from the same clan as that the minister responsible for the department.

Xaaji as you may have noticed that Hargeisa is overrun by turban-clad tabliiqis, may I ask in wali lagu tashkiiliyay. I do support the noble work these guys do but the only problem with them is they keep peddling these fairytale stories found in the so called hadiths instead of teaching the people what the Quran says.
-
To paraphrase your statement, what you are basically saying is that: the Holy Quran does not work, Almighty Allah cannot explain Himself in a book, the prophet contradicted Allah's commandments in the Quran and told people to do things that were never authorised by Allah, the Quran is incomplete and we need to rely on literature not seen or authorised by the prophet as it was produced centuries after his death. If believing in and practicing what is mentioned here is not kufr, then I don't know what kufr is.

Now that there is oil in the Somali kilil, will Jinacsani and other Oromised regions come back to the fold?
-
That is not a bad share for the region.
-
I don't believe a word of it. The air traffic control fiasco comes to mind whenever they talk about "kalsooni".
-
I see no independence. When there are no more African mercenaries guarding Villa Somalia and no foreign powers manipulating Somalia's internal affairs, then I will inshaallah send my congratulations to koonfuria.

The name Og@den is historically associated with that region and was conveniently used by the European powers of the twentieth century when referring to that place. So as long as name recognition and branding of the rebel group is concerned, I see no benefit in changing the name to anything else. But it is indeed true that the current administration in the kilil is heavily influenced by tribalism. If the ONLF wants to be less vulnerable to the type of backstabbing they have so far suffered at the hands of other Somalis, they should be more inclusive and recruit Somalis of all clans to their file and rank.

Like any other exam in the world, they could just employ some of those jobless people in the country to search for devices and keep an eye on the students. Simple!!
-
That is possibly the case
-
Sad but true.
-
Just as the Tigrey rebels later became the government, the ONLF should persevere and pile on the pressure until they take over from Iley. Once they are in control of the Somali kilil, then they will have the choice to dismantle or reform the Liyu "police".
