The people of Jubba want to have a federal state, why is that bothering the HAG? I take offense to this! There is no such thing as HAG and if you are referring to the folks in Xamar, I am one of them and I have different views, why refer to qabiil?

It may not choose who govern but it has the duty to supervise those selections/elections . It also has the duty of to insure we don't have another 'Somaliland' in the jubboyinka. Correct on one point, but sadly the FG has taken it a bit too far by refusing to accept the locals to create their states. This is evident in Jubbaland, Bay& Bakool areas. they are bending the rules. I agree with the fact that the Sovereignty and unity of the Nation is non-negotiable, something I doubt those in Jubbaland or Bay & Bakool will ever do if we are honesty speaking and putting aside the media hype. cool heads is what we need, not sensationalising. Besides we have Ethiopian Troops in Bay & Bakool, and the locals there also wish to create their own state. why aren't they being accused of wanting to secede?.

If it is to my understanding there is two big D-block clan that are fighting over this region(sorry I know it feels impolite to mention clans, but we can't brush this clan element aside). Why can't they sit down and have some sort of regional administration that everyone is happy? I find this government intensely conflicted. They have been in authority for some time and they still can't address the ever emerging concerns from Kismayu? Brother, the issue and reason for the fight yesterday in my view is not politically motivated, but rather because someone was pissed off that his family member was locked up and the other side didn't address it with a cool head either. Things flared up and bob's your uncle. this is not a political fight as many try to make out. On the issue of how the Government handled this, well it is purely ignorance coupled by a bit of Qabiil amongst the ranks in the higher posts. Qabil is always in Somali politics wherever it maybe and the Government is no different. They also have an issue of control, something this Administration seems paranoid about. Deadly combination. Before anyone calls me a sell out, I just wish to make it clear that I am not Dam Jadid party, They are in power and I respect that, but do not share their views. Far from sharing their views, I am actually critical of the way they have handled themselves thus far. Lastly, people come on!, common sense please?.
  5. Even though I am from Xamar, I think The Fedaral government should stick to the constitution which is essentially the thing that brought them to power and stop antagonizing people around the country. The constitution gives certain devolution rights to the citizens and provided they get together and decide to form a state with two or more of the former 18 provinces, then they can. I strongly believe the Government mishandled this issue with blind fury. What they should have done is be the "Government" and urge the locals to form their states while providing them with expertise, financial support and maintaining the "Elder" distance and overseeing the family, not getting in their and fighting with the kids. By doing this, it has completely shot to pieces the credibility of the Government not to mention the fact that they lost a golden opportunity to strengthen grassroots Democracy by encouraging this devolution process. finally, this is one of many groups they have antagonized. From what I noticed so far, they managed to alienate most of the International agencies working out of Mogadishu( They are all smiles, but privately, they have been iced and abused, and they in turn are busy creating a certain "opinion"around the world for this government), they have also alienated all the neighboring countries( whether you like it or not they are in the country under AMISOM and you need them as much as they need you), They have also managed to do similar things to many other international bodies including the EU and others. Don't be fooled by all the visits that are happening in good old Mogadishu, nothing will materialize, they are all going through the motions and in a short period of time funds will start to dry out. The honeymoon is nearing the end and they just don't get it!
  6. This is disturbing subxanallah. Have our people gone that far out of our deen! Kuma jiro anigu
  7. 20 Million in return for what?. It is too small a figure and If USA really wanted to help they would have announced billions. This is not aid, this is a way to keep this fledgling government in check. Labaatan milyan waa lugooyo!, particularly since the President even went to the white house. Personally I believe the president should have sent the head of the Disaster Management committee, not even a minister or a deputy. Having said that, the leadership need to understand they are not the bloody taxi service that get called to the bloody airport everyday. In fact they should insist these people leave the airport and come to villa somalia. The fact that they are agreeing to receive them at the airport is simply going to allow all the other internationals to demand the same and claim the city is not safe enough for them to go. They used to go to Villa somalia in the last two years when at times it was quite dangerous. Quite frankly I am very disappointed with this whole saga.

They just need to take process further
  10. Say what you like, but I have told you all the facts. If I was you guys in the diaspora, I wouldn't go to Hargeisa expecting it to be the Ol' Hargeisa of a few years ago where you could chill and party hard. this time you stand having your behind lashed for looking western!

Mr, I can tell you they have not captured anyone of significance in this AS network based in Somaliland. The very first one is Actually Siilanyo( I hope i got his name right), because he harbors these wanted blood thirsty fugitives, offers them a base of operations, training and even funding. Just to remind people here, when these animals left the south a huge chunk of them who were mainly from Somaliland( they made up most of the senior positions), tried to go through Kilika Shanaad in Ethiopia and the authorities there found out. A major battle took place around the towns where folks from their clans live in that province and to the surprise of many, supplies, and even re-enforcements left somaliland to join the battle. This was said publicly by the ethiopian representative in Hargeisa. They then had a major spat with the Ethiopian Government ever since. The point being, the whole Somaliland is Led by AS. Faisal Waraabe's son is now in the hands of the Americans after he joined AS. His house was being searched the past few hours in Finland, computers and phones confiscated according to many reports I am getting from there. . I met a number of NGO's that used to be based in Hargeisa who are now moving to Xamar to run away from the expected big bangs in Hargeisa. Are you guys blind?. By the way when I am addressing this issues, I am pointing the finger at the leadership and the attitude of "cover up" that is practiced there not the general population who I must say are as much a victim in this as their brethren in the South and who no doubt will be the ones that suffer as a result. This is very much real and you can either confront your leaders or not. The choice is yours, but don't try and insult our intelligence by claiming otherwise..........Everyone knows Somaliland now equates Shabaab Central station.

Mintid Farayar;919696 wrote: Odey, Rather than the usual conspiracy-minded fantasies, wouldn't it be more productive for you to put pressure on your Puntland administration to beef up the rapidly deteriorating security situation and start paying the security force salaries? It's a loss for all Somalis when civil society luminaries are killed off one by one. We've seen this similar pattern down South for the last decade. Take off the anti-Somaliland lenses for a second and recognize that Al Shabaab extremism is a threat to all of us equally! Dude, I am from Mogadishu and not Puntland, just to clarify before you jump the gun. Secondly I have been in Mogadishu the past 2.5 to 3 years continuously and have seen what AS are and I can tell you Godane's Mrs never came this way, but rather Godane went back to Burco to Make babies each year in full view and with the Awareness of the Somailand Leadership. He was being protected there by his clan/sub clan whatever you call it down there. AS has come home to roost in Somaliland and no matter how much you sugar coat it, that fact will not change. You reap what you sow and in this Case Somaliland has been supporting, arming and providing a base of operations for the senior members of AS for so long simply to ensure the Southern Part of Somalia doesn't get a respite so it may get the much sought after "recognition". The problem is that such animals have a tendency to turn and bite you where it hurts the most. The have bitten Somaliland's Recognition efforts to pieces. As of now the clearly identified base of operations for AS is Somaliland. The current Admin in Somaliland clearly support these guys. Heck!, Godane is Silaanyo's clansman for crying out loud! Whatever you do, don't lie to yourself. We in the South know the facts and had been begging you guys to stop this for a long time without much success. Enjoy you heinous creation!
  13. Ok........just to point the obvious, but shouldn't we be asking why somaliland supports all these terrorists in the first place. We had godane coming home to get his mrs pregnant each year and according to some reports the woman has had 5-8 kids this decade depending on who you ask. Before you all start jump up and down, I am not trying to discuss the woman, but rather the fact that having his babies each year is an indication of his return to his homeland every year. Bottom line; these guys weren't caught, they were returning to their base of operations as always, only this time their victim was to big a name and their route back too well known, not to mention that the place had already been previously identified by more or less the whole world as a safe heaven form AS.They didn't have choice. It was either they showcase them or the big fish AKA Somaliland Leadership is immediately implicated. This is cheap propaganda in my view.

  17. Before you all start going Moral, spare a thought to the three people that are heavily wounded by this monster while they tried to apprehend him. Maybe that will explain the anger you see in these civilians. Had they been police or other assorted security personnel, they would have done things differently. Having said that he got beaten up along the way and towards the end I could see him being offered water etc. I pray to allah to save the wounded whom I understand sustained serious injuries and May Allah Grant Janatul Firdausa to the Sheikh amin!
  18. Actually this is true. I was but only 5 minutes away heading to the place and had just gone past Baar Fiat when I heard the blast. I could tell it was quite huge, so we turned back and called around. A few of our friends who were having lunch there waiting for us told us casualties are a must given the number of wounded and walking wounded they saw and they are amongst them. The other day it was the PM's house, then Galkacyo, yesterday it was the Great sheikh they assassinated, now Liido. Very systematic?
  19. This is by far the most shocking news I have heard this year. Ilaahey Janatul Firdausa ha ka waraabiyo shiikha. The sheikh was one whose credentials and calibre as a scholar none of those mad men in AS could question and he was the one voice who stood up to them and they had no answer to him. They decided to kill him instead. His message shall live on Insha Allah because he has already shown them for what they are by not only questioning them Islamically, but proving them a bunch of power hungry, blood thirsty mad men. He has done his duty as a scholar and May Allah accept his supplications Amiin. I wish all the other scholars would follow his example and Stand up for their people. Ina Lillaahi wa in a ilayhi raajicuun!!!
  20. The former PM deserves all the credit he gets. His legacy is the normalcy Somalia is experiencing today. The current government would not be here if he hadn't done what he did. Good Luck in whatever you do going forward Sir!
  21. I visited both Saxafi and City Plaza Last night to see what the hype was all about and was quite disappointed. Don't get me wrong, plenty of talent etc, but the whole thing was so alien to our people that it was a fake copy at that!. I didn't like the whole thing one bit. It is ok in the western world as I remember it(feels likes a long time), but out here what we need is not to copy other societies, in fact we should be focused on "Somali" themes and celebrations. I would have loved to see some Somali traditional dances being played everywhere. I was in Addis just two weeks ago and saw first hand how those people hold on to their culture and values. In Fact the socialites their always have a blend of Tradition with everything they do and no party is complete without it having a majority of Habasha dances. I was kind of jelous of their respect for their culture! I was saddened by the displays I saw in Xamar last night and left ten minutes later.
  22. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha !!!! Walaahi I laughed at this one ha ha ha ha. Nice one
  23. Right!, Unless you all want me to put on my "Unuka" hat, you all better stop this D-Block meetings ;)
