President Siilaanyo never hurt a fly i am not sure anything happening in Boraame can you elaborate what happened in borame? Are you for Real? Armed rebels?. Little kids, invading people who have nothing to do with what you want and forcing them. Well if you want to play that game then let me tell you this, You have completely justified the Destruction of SNM rebel Malitia back in the late 80's by the Somali National Army. They were simply fighting some rebels who wanted to divide up the country and anyone that suffered in that debacle was of course a combatant. In the same light Mr Carafaat- The rest of Somalis should also launch a major offensive and Create new Reality/History and we should then forget what happened after a few days?. I have definitely forgotten everything about the Late Eighties and the nice friendly football matches that SNM used to Play with our beloved Somali National Army Boys.Oh how I miss those friendly matches! Glad to see you chaps are finally embracing the bury the past attitude! Good on ya!
  2. Don't you think it is premature to nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize when we haven't seen anything he has delivered except Khatumo ( and the casualties that led to the formation of it), complete change of mind in the international arena in as far as Secession goes, Nepotism (even the clans that strongly believe in somaliland will confirm this), corruption on a Grand scale. Above all the name is always associated with the Tanks that run over people in Buuhoodle and surrounding areas. The way I see it the dude wouldn't feel out of place sharing a cell with Charles Taylor, and will probably happily swap tells of the good old days when one could torture, maim and pillage without a care in the world!. Just because I am in the South doesn't mean I don't care about the innocent being killed in the North!
  3. Love him or hate him, one thing is for sure, the man could fight and then some. Allah Ya Rahma
  4. Something Odd in this whole discussion, where is the Victim in all this?. Surely the victim is the innocent one whom we should be looking out for?. No mention, not even a glance in that direction so far?. Guys this is sad!
  5. There is the small thing of financing the project which they have yet to clarify.
  6. This is the kind of discussions we should be having. Well done guys!
  7. To add my two cents -Turkey also wants a major foothold in the Sub Saharan Africa. it sees Somalia as it's hub into that lucrative market and Somalis being Dominant in that region in terms of business links, they see a route to take their products to market that is quick, well established and aggressive which they can build on. That to them is probably the biggest and most lucrative reason for developing this strategic alliance with somalis.
  8. You can all read the document on the link below. I tend to agree with Yunis on this. I am in Mogm and the whole argument by those against is based on pure lies. They claim it doesn't map out the territory, is against Islam and will sell us to the highest bidder. Actually the document is to be commended in its thoroughness, but I agree with Yunis in that they handled it rather badly. There is another point everyone needs to consider, The transition MUST end if we are to survive as a people or we will be sold to the highest bidder for slavery.
  9. Hmmmm, sounds like a page out of Playboy magazine boys. Are you boys ok?......a bit drought lately is it?;);)
  10. The mood in Mogadishu is Sombre. Every cafe and hotel discussion centres around how he saved the nation from the wilderness to a nation that at least resembles a state. People are realising he was way ahead of his peers when recognising threats from the militants and agree with his actions. The view here is that he had no choice but to use whatever means he could. Given the current administration and how they are heavily reliant on the Amisom forces he brought to the country simply proves that he needed the capacity more than he had at the time to regain the Capital for the country from warlordism, shabaab and other groups all hiding behind the banner of Islam. It is also widely agreed he wasn't a greedy man as abtigis points out and he truly believed in what he say and did. At the time I opposed him, but I see the wisdom of his actions and judging by the enemy he faced that are killing innocents everyday, the man had a point. I have just heard he will be buried officially here in Mogadishu and I will keep you informed inshallah Rest In Peace El-Presidente
  11. Allah ya Rahma to the President, May Allah Grant Him Janatul Firdaus. We in Mogadishu are getting ready to receive the body of the President in the coming day or so and Bury him with full presidential Honours Inshallah People, SHAME ON YOU!, you have started talking ill of the dead. This man rubbed some people the wrong way but he was a President of Somalia and The legacy he left behind is what the Current Administration is using. The foundation of forces, institutions, international recognition, amisom all came as a direct result of his efforts. I Had my differences with him , but cannot deny the facts
  12. Miskiin Macruuf- Saaxib weli xamar cadeey aan joogaa, afer a long spell away. Good to be home sxb, but a lot needs to be done. One thing about xamar- It re-invents itself every time. This time it is remembering it is the capital of the nation and is proudly moving in that direction. The buzz is here is exciting. Reconstruction is happening at a breathtaking speed. Roads that were completely destroyed by the shabaab/ government/amisom battles are either completely or almost all rebuilt. People are also returning home, and I don't mean the one Qabil that everyone claims has been left behind in our beloved capital.Everyone from all 18 provinces of somalia are re-engaging their capital. Forget all the silly arguments of regions, everyone is coming back for his home and getting it, rebuilding and living in it. They huge Diaspora influx is making a big change. The old cosmopolitan feel of eighties is coming back to the city. Only last friday we went to Jazeera beach where another diaspora from the Uk opened a beachfront restaurant and the scenery is awesome. The small village of Jazeera sits comfortably to your left and right in front you is the small island where that sheikh is buried. The crowd was almost all Diaspora and consisted of almost every sphere of society. So brother to answer your question I am back Home and intend to stay here. History is being made and I want to be part of it. I want to make a difference, it is hard but I think there is a part I can play inshallah. Salaams
  13. Sayid- Brother, The head is already hurting, but I am hoping I will have just one listener to succeed
  14. Apologies if my very first few posts turn out to be quite unusual, but I have been using this forum as a reference on current news. One thing I must point out though is this. You all seem keen to see greatness return to our people, but have the very same problem that helped destroy us in the first place. However much you claim to be different from your fellow Somali, you are still somalis, whatever your tribe or region you come from. The world still sees us all as somalis. So the question is, what in all that is good are we fighting each other for?. You come home and you see the people are only interested in one thing "Peace", they are war weary, tired, starving. There has also been a complete brain drain in this country. How do you expect things to change in the country when they don't even understand what the word Government is?. They don't know how the world runs, cannot negotiate anything with the rest of the world. I was present on a number of occasions in negotiations and I could not contain myself and intervened. In the end those I was defending were arguing with me thinking I was going to loose them what was in their minds the greatest deal since sliced bread. This is the situation the country is in and please don't start the age old madness of my stuff smells better than yours because it isn't. I see a lot of bright young and capable men and women here. Have you guys even thought that maybe you could collectively become stronger?. you can always clean up your homes later, but at the very least work together when facing the world?. Dont rely on anyone here in the homeland , no elders, they are only your elders if you pay them. Forget politicians, they will sell you to the highest bidder and their strategy is to use you to negotiate a better deal for themselves and then drop you right where they found you. They have been doing this the last 50 years, do we not learn? I challenge you to be different. You are the brain this nation needs to be Great again.
  15. I have been back in the homeland the last six months in particular mogadishu and came face to face with the damages these explosions can cause. It was only a couple of hours ago that I saw the police blocking entire streets when they captured two brand new vehicles laden with explosives parked at popular and busy streets, The intention of this *******s is quite clear. sorry people but I have nothing but contempt when it comes to these animals. I have seen the charred remains of students, kids and young women who lost their lives and all they did was go out there in search of their daily bread. I say find and burn these animals. Kudos to the Puntland police for their success. I also wish to congratulate our own forces here in Mogadishu for their courage . I am also amazed by the determination of the people i see everyday. They have no intention of allowing them to come back into town. Most of the success the forces are having is because the public have responded. It is also the huge successive steps taken by the "gaas" administration the last few months along with the political outreach exercises that gave way to the confidence I now see everyday in Mogadishu Mogadishu now equals HOPE and nothing these animals do will stop us. A word of warning to the regions that have relative stability. wherever they maybe ........watch out, we've kicked their behinds this side and they are coming your way!!!
