  1. Galbeedi, the Oromos of today have an element of extreme expansionist mindset. It is going to be very hard to contain them once they start to dominate the hallways of power. As you know, before the Tigray rule, the Somali Killil was divided between Hararghe and Bale regions which are 100% Oromo, and Sidamo which has other ethnics. The Oromos are not happy with the current borders of the Somali region. They want to redraw the borders. It is their number one grievance with the Somalis today. Saxiib gaalka dil gartiisana sii. The Tigray rule was most definitely better for the Somali region than that of Mengistu aka the butcher of Borama. Let us also not overlook that the Oromos were the footsoldiers of every Habashi King who attempted to subjugate the fiercely independent Somali tribes in the Horn. I am not that hopeful about Oromo rule. Doqontu ninkay legdooto maka kacdo. Once they go on top of you, they may never get off.
  2. Things are moving fast. OO and Che, please keep the updates.
  3. Shimbirayahow heesa forever. Both parties are not serious about these talks. Shacabka yaan la wareerin. Lacagbaa lagu cunaa sheekada talks.
  4. Introducing and encouraging a healthy lifestyle such as running is one of the ways to create a generation of Somalis who don't depend on Khat and extremism in their daily lives.
  5. The Council of ministers is set to declare a state of emergency for three months as of this morning, a source close to the government told Addis Standard. The military will be in charge via a command post, which will be "reporting to the Prime Minister," according to our source. The move follows yesterday's resignation of Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn both as Prime Minister, Chairman of EPRDF and his own party, the Southern Ethiopian People's Democratic Movement (SEPDM). Initially, there there was a "strong push" against the decision from members of two of the parties that make up the EPRDF: the Oromo Peoples' Democratic Organization (OPDO) and the Amhara National Democratic Movement (ANDM), the two parties that govern Oromia and Amhara regional states, according to our source. However, "the state of emergency will be declared this morning as the security situation in the country is getting volatile," said the source. Details of parts of the civilian constitution to be suspended will be announced at the end of the ministerial council's meeting, but it is likely to be not much different than the October 2016 nine month state of emergency, which was extended by additional four months. The "government will submit the decision to national parliament within the next 15 days," our source said, adding the delay to table the decision to the parliament was because the parliament is currently in mid-term recess. The state of emergency is to be declared amidst increasing power struggle, especially between the OPDO and ANDM, to replace the outgoing Prime Minister. http://allafrica.com/stories/201802160425.html
  6. This is the guy the Oromos are pushing to take the helm. Their own man.
  7. This is the guy the Oromos are pushing to take the helm. Their own man.
  8. What the Oromo government says and what the Oromo lynch mob does are two entirely different things.
  9. That is honorable. For the first time, Oodweyne is advocating for all Somalis in Killil to be protected from the mayhem that is about to ensue even if takes the crazy man by the name of Illey to do it. Knowing that Illey is not from your Beel, and is a man accused of killing your own Beel in the Kilil, you are more pragmatic than I ever thought you would be.
  10. Our cities are already teetering with illegal Oromo migrants from Ethiopia. We don't want Free Movement. We have enough illegals already.
  11. Somalis need allies and I am sorry to say but Oromo, a group that is hell bent on seizing Somali villages because they think it belongs to them is not going to be our natural allies.
  12. We SOLers have been beating up on OO and his Tigray boogyman for a while, not realizing the alternatives could be catastrophic. The final hour is here and the news is not looking good. The Somali region needs to be protected and at this time, we need a mad man to minimize any coming genocide against our people. Let us pray for the Somalis in the Kilil.
  13. Good for the Sanaag people. Sanaag fell behind the rest of Somaliland on development and this new discovery could be a boon for that area.
  14. Abdiweli showed his contempt for the people who elected him by being so dismissive of their questions and concerns. He may be technically correct, but real leaders don't speak like he did. It is an honor to serve the people.
  15. Why is Galaydh dining with the Opposition?
  16. Mr. Biixi is getting a lot of pushback lately. That cabinet announcement must have been a disaster. The old man wasted a golden opportunity to correct deficiencies after the election debacle.
  17. Suldaanka, are you saying Khat addiction is now a Southern problem and must be eradicated?
