  1. Waryahe, pull the hand break mate, before you smash into the SOL women on this issue. You should also be concerned with the Somali males (who are no innocents). Hablahena inodaa they have enough BS to contend with, let alone the 'high horse' somali male. There is something annoying about you, i think i speak for everyone here when i say TURN YOUR CAPS LOCK OFF!!!!!!!

  6. If i may throw in my 2 shillings (excuse the pun) We all know the state of Somaliland right now. There are many good and bad points whether it be politically/economically/socially etc etc. Its obviouse that the current leader(s) are not up to the task of taking Somaliland over the next step (or hurdle) in the right direction. But what is the right direction? under whom? etc etc There are many things that i'm not happy with (Riyaale acting like a dictotor is one of them) it seems as though the Somaliland Govnt want recognition for 'their' own gains and not for that of the ppl. Do you really think all that money that will pour in from the UN/IMF/World Bank will be used appropriately on Schools/Health System/Police??? NO. These ppl have dreams of villas in Viena not Schools in Hargaisa. The sooner ppl realise this the better. Somaliland has come a long way since 1991 (91-93 there was still in-fighting in Burco) but its is time for change and there is no better time than the present to inform the public of this. Being critical of the way the country is run is different from admiring its progress ie universities, businesses etc etc.

^^ Somaliland = Country/region/gobol/woqooyi galbeed - however you wish to view it as. People who reside there or come from there are a mixture of tribes with one main tribe (obviously) but if someone mentioned another like-wise region (with a dominant tribe and smaller proportions of other tribes)in another like-wise thread, would they be accused of being tribalist based on the fact that there is 'a' main tribe there rather than a 50-50 split or similar? straightens his Somaliland tie
  8. ^^Pirez was MOM As for the cup final, i hope its a good game. I dont really care who wins as long its not a contraversial game.
  9. Rooney, i wish i could check out prices for tickets >>> http://www.sports-index.co.uk/cgi-bin/view.pl?board=sitp and no flights out
  10. It was a cr*p performance, Liverpool are a yoyo club, you just dont know what to expect these days. we are in the CL final, but we must also be competitive domestically.

When you go to these events/parties, the emphasis isnt on the struggle against a cruel regime and how S/land came through but more on music/dance/awards etc. The kids feel that 18th May 'is' a celebration rather than it being in rememberance of lost ones. Maybe you can understand why, because there would be a lower turn out hence lower amounts available for charity.
  12. its a Frantic Friday in here i tell ya  I quite fancy a stint as the next John Pinaar or as a John Snow (hi-tech graphs/images/presentation and all)
  13. ^^^i havnt missed anything. My prediction was correct to a T! Labour have lost their majority of 140+ to approx 66, the Tories have made gains all over the place, the Lib Dems have won and lost seats and Ona King has been ousted by Galloway - Raage Omaar reporting last night from Bethanl Green. Sell-out
  14. Phanta says: I didnt vote, but if I did I would have voted labour. 1) Because I live in a labour constituency LOL, not anymore. The tories have got in Notherner said: Blair will remain, Torie will catch up, Libs will lose some ground, Respect will oust Ona King in Bethanl Green. I should be a political analyst ps i did not vote but i know of many who voted Labour which was dissapointing

Lander says: niiyo dalkaga ka horaysii "liverbool", hadi kalee dharbaxo jin ayan kugu dhufan LOL, true, i think my passion for footy and liberbool as got to my head this week. I shall wave the flag from the arial on my car for the next few week, how about that? I don’t know if you have attended the Somaliland may 18th celebrations in Toronto, but if you have it usually involves elders speaking in length about the history from 1960’s to modern day and emphasizing the relevance of said events. Plus a visit from a liberal(usually) mp from scarborough region who sympathizes and promotes the Somaliland cause in parliament. That is in the beginning. Following the longwinded speeches when all the lil teenagers look like they are dying of boredom than the elders leave the stage and the party begins. As for other cities I cannot say if they do the same. The events usually also raise significant funds for projects back home being Hargeisa Hospital, Burco hospital etc… Sure these events leave a lot of room for improvement in terms of efficiency and organization, but they do more to help out than say you and I, would you not agree? So give them a lil credit will ya? that’s the one thing I find common with most Somalis walahi, very pessimistic cynical people who love to criticize but yet do not come up with any initiatives of their own. No peronnal offence intended. No offence taken saxib, and i do know of and appreciate the time, effort and dedication put in by all those trying to make S/land & Somalia a progressive and peaceful society. I will son embark on my own project (with a freind) involving sponsoring a school in Burco involving setting up a charity here and wiring monies through for books, desks & chairs, teachers salaries, paint jobs, security etc etc on a regular basis. Its a great idea which should be expanded accross all parts of our homelands as the money is not there at the moment to keep schools running effeciently. If anyone requires any further info, PM me.

Lander says: BTW change your avatar or put up some display of the Somaliland tri-colours, this one small gesture of showing your true colours for a couple of weeks will NOT kill you . That goes for all you Somalilanders and undercover Somalilanders alike……( you know exactly who you are ). mmmm Liverpool Avater or Somaliland Avater? Very tough choice. Well its the 1st time that i will get the opportunity to watch my team play in the CL Final so let me enjoy the moment please. As for 18th May, its turning more into a celebration of being from Somaliland and partying for the sake of it rather than a time for reflection and appreciation for the SNM cauuse and remebering those nearest and dearest who lost their lives during the conflict. Celebrating independence is little sad considering todays political situation all over S/land & Somalia. We have taken steps backwards recently. alot of kids who shall be running around with the flag draped around their bodies, throwing it from here to there dont know how significant this day was in 1991. Its just another excuse to go to a party and do what kids at parties do.
  21. Bring-em out bring-em out! Milan can be beaten, a master tactician like Rafa shall be prepared. Its evident that Milan do not like other teams getting down the wings and doubling up on Cafu/Maldini. They are not very good in the air from set pieces. The dream shall go on, for another 3 weeks at least. I'm confident of beating Milan.
  22. I shall not be voting because they can not find me on the system somehow  . I dont know whether to be pleased or concerned  Blair will remain, Torie will catch up, Libs will lose some ground, Respect will oust Ona King in Bethanl Green. Last week i was in Stepney, chatting outside the maqaxi (as you do) then George Galloway rolls by in his bus preaching anti war blah blah blah. this stirred up a mini debate aout voting etc amongs many
  23. I think all the newbies will bring something fresh to the forums. The all know and aknowledge that SOL is 'different' and not the usual teen site where all manners of filth is constructed on a daily basis. Therefore, all you newbies should feel slightly honoured that yoy are now a member of Somalia's future dicision makers ( i think  )
