  1. 4-Liverpool won more trophies than Man Utd and Arsenal and yet they are the second fiddle to these two teams both inside and outside of England, shouldn't the world give credit where its due? Domestically Liverpool dominated in the 70 and 80 while Man Utd dominated the 90s, the new Millenium has not been dominated. In Europe, we all know who has dominated and have also won their 5th cup and get to keep it . The thing with Liverpool is they know thay have under-achieved in recent times and do not expect credit for that. 8-If you were an Arsenal manager, yes Mr Wenger what would you do differently to win the Champions League? Arsenal need to realise that playing Charlton and playing Bayern Munich away in a knock out CL requires a change in tactics. A boring 0-0 draw in Muncich with a 4-5-1 formation may just be better than a 3-1 loss with a 4-4-2 formation  9-Between Serie A and La Liga (sorry Premier League) which league do you think is the world's best? Depends what your looking for, if technical ability is all your looking for then yes La Liga, but for alround skill, tactics, defence and chain smoking managers then Seria A it is. 10-When will we ever see a Somali player strutting his stuff on the world’s biggest stage, right now playing for Somalia seems a distant and very ambitious dream so which country is the odds on to produce the world’s first Somali superstar? Soon IA, when we are recognised as the most skillful bunch in a bad bunch in the UK.
  2. ^^^sour grapes saxib, sour grapes, AC Miland and Chelsea were beaten by the mighty reds, and you will never hear the end of it Maradona has always hated Brazil and had a go at them because he got the opportunity, nobody believes that Liverpool 2005 are better than Brazil 70 and nobody cares!!!!!! We are European Champions, we dont care what anyone thinks, we did it! You keep the Prem, Carling Cup and FA Cup, we have the BIG one!
  3. good analysis/update on local issues, just hope this is more representative on a national/internation scale soon.
  4. ^^^ How beautiful sour grapes are my son. I feel sorry for the premiership winners Chelsicvovich, no one is talking about them, already forgetten, how sad Soma, i think Mourinho and his BS has gone to your head. Dont even bring Chelsea into this discussion, that Terry goal vs Barca should not have been allowed so please take it easy on the Mourinho type BS with us  Maradona says: The Liverpool supporters didn't let me go to sleep the night before, there were 10 of them to every three Milan supporters. They showed their unconditional support at half-time when they were losing 3-0 and still they didn't stop singing Cruyff says: There's not one club in the world so united with the fans. I sat there watching the Liverpool fans and they sent shivers down my spine. A mass of 40,000 people became one force behind their team. That's something not many teams have. For that I admire Liverpool more than anything If only you guys knew what it is to be a Liverpool fan, the difference is the passion for the game is there for all to see. The cr*p atmospheres at the other 'big' clubs is a JOKE! That drab atmosphere for the 1st leg vs Chelsea where the Liverpool fans were making the noise, did you see the difference in Chelsea's street celebrations to liverpools? As for that PENALTY, yes it was a dive and that why its even more beautiful to see an english player take a dive when playing in europe and especially against the italians in the CL final beautiful, Gattuso was nowhere near him  Milan didnt deserve to be in the final (PSV should won in the Semis)but Liverpool did! We beat Juventus who beat Real Madrid, we beat Chelsea who beat Bayern Munich (who beat ARSENAL) and Barcelona and then we beat Milan who beat PSV and Internazional! Liverpool will defend the cup next year as Eufa are under pressure to come up with a solution to the problems and force a rule change. We are Liverpool
  5. I'm still celebrating, wearing the shirt to work
  6. Destined A Liverpool fans perceptive on a fantastic CL Season Watching nearly all of Liverpool’s CL games this season, I could not but think the small things that happened throughout those games. I pondered all day yesterday if we were destined to win. We qualified by a single goal against a Swiss team (I think) and Michael Owen stayed on the bench and moved to Real Madrid the next days with the hope of ‘winning’ things. No chance is what I thought of our CL chances, I just hoped for an improved season after what we got with Gerard Houllier. So the premiership season got under way, we got a draw away at Spurs and I was rather impressed with our performances during those early games. We played Monaco and beat them 2-0 at Anfield with Cisse grabbing a goal. Hmmm not a bad start I thought. Then he subsequently broke his leg in that horrific ‘accident’ away at Blackburn witnessed over iftar during Ramadan. We went on to play Olympiakos and lost 1-0 in a dire performance, which I wasn’t surprised with and then, drew 0-0 to Deportivo at Anfield in a game we should have won. Then during the return leg at Depor, players like Igor Biskan and Djimmy Traore stepped up to the plate and played their best games in a red shirt, we came away with a 1-0 scoreline (an own goal). Then That game vs Olympiakos at Anfield. 1 nil down at half time to a Rivaldo freekick, we needed 3 goals in the second half and not conceeded. Rafa the gaffa brought on Pongo who scored within 2 mins, then he brought on Mellor who scored within 10 mins, then Gerrard scored a screamer in last seconds to see us through to the last 16. We got the draw we all hoped for, Vs Bayer Leverkusen and looked forward to avenge their ‘lucky’ win against us in 2002 where we could played Man Utd (whom we had already beaten 3 times that year) in the semis. Anyway, we killed them! Bring on Juve on a night of passion at Anfield, what a 1st half. The goals came early, Delpi’s goal was ruled offside (wrong decision) but you need some luck in these games. Ibrahimovic hit the post, Carson made a great save from Delpi but then made a huge error in the 2nd half. Onto the 2nd leg, Gerrard banned, Alonso was back! A great performance away from home against the about to be crowned champions of Italy. That header against the post by Cannavaro and subsequent fumble of Messieurs Dudek and Traore, that miss by Ibrahimovic, it was looking good from a Liverpool perceptive. Chelski There will be an English team in the final was the cry from all the media. No doubt most of them thought Chelsea would do it. But not me, I had that feeling that we could do it. Which we did. That miss by Lamps, that miss by Drogba, that dive by Gudjohnson, the yellow for Alonso, the disputed goal, that last minute miss by Gudjohnson, the comments by mourinho, the atmosphere at anfield. Brilliant! AC Milan What can I say, 3-0 at half time I was ready to leave and head back home and sulk for the next couple of days. But something inside my said, hold on geezer, miracles are possible, so I said ok, lets at least make it respectable by scoring 1 goal to make it 3-1 which wouldn’t look too bad in the history books. The crazy 6 mins in the 2nd half changed everything. The constant cr*p coming out of the mouths of Arsenal fans had stopped, the Man Utd fan realised that we could do this and it go down as ‘the’ best ever come back, even better than their in 1999. The nerves came back, the constant threat from Scheva, Kaka, Pirlo, Seadorf was all there to see. That Save Dudek is the sort of keeper who you love and hate all at the same time and all in the same game. If I was to be ultra critical, then he should have saved that Maldini goal. But, what an amazing double save. That’s when I knew it would be our cup. Penalties Great penalties by the lads and Dudek got the old spegetti legs,LOL. Brilliant! goes off to buy a Liverpool shirt!
  7. ^^^^ ^^the heart of Lion! ^^ gerrard was inspirational in the 2nd half, i felt sorry for serginho who couldnt get past him, Rafa the gaffa is the BEST manager in the world!
  8. I am absolutely over the moon guys, Nuune, Ngonge, Juma, Sujui, we did it lads we did it!!!! The best final i have ever witnessed, the dispair at half time thinking a battering was on the cards, the crazy six minutes, that save by Dudek in the last seconds of extra time, the penalty by Gattuso, the misses from Milan, the inpiration of the fans from all walks of life, all colours, all religions but were all for one night together in unity as Liverpool fans, the best fans in the world no doubt! walk on walk on walk on Like Juma stated, i do not only support this club, i LOVE them! I shall write a longer analysis of our CL Season later on. Peace
  9. 3 hrs to go  good luck the reds of merseyside! Viking, lets just wait and see eh? Peace

  12. ^^ Milan are very angry indeed and i fear a back lash, as long as the trio in the middle perform (Gerrard, Alonso and Hamman) we have a chance.
  13. ^^you should what i have on my phone They (a bunch black youths) tried to slap an arabic guy on Edgware road, he knew what they were going to do, so he slapped him and it was all caught on camera lol

NGONGE says: Somali political discussion is in dire need of a touch of reality. This way of referring back to history at every given opportunity and attempting to prove and disprove current positions is dishonest and, frankly, no way to conduct any kind of debate. Good point. Repetition of historical facts/theories are forming a basis for argument rather than a dose of realism and debate on what is actually happening today. Tolstoy, one is telling you to forget the atrocities of the late 80 and early 90s but to 'assess' the reality on the ground. As for the 'i bet you would change your tone if Kumiye were in power' notes, Kulmiye are actually willing to at least listen & debate the issue rather than ignore it all together in the persuit of debt. You really think the Somaliland govnt (the majority of) are persuing independece based on your historical analysis??? Give me a break mate. Is this the reality though? Are the obstacles that simple to overcome? Can Somalia (the one with the TFG) finally sort itself out, reach a workable and peaceful understanding, discard all the hatred and mistrust, rebuild its institutions and woo Somaliland back (or even force it back)? A practical and pragmatic person would conclude that this is very unlikely. They’ll hope, judging by the evidence again, that Somalia (TFG) manages to sort itself out and construct some semblance of a working government. He’ll tell you that such a government will need a long time to get its basic act together, time for Somaliland to gallop ahead with it’s own agenda! He’ll tell you that even when Somalia is ready to reclaim Somaliland, the opportunities for division, disruption and sabotage on both sides will be limitless! A dreamer on the other hand, never allows these things to interfere with his vision. Events, signs, facts or obstacles don’t matter to him unless they serve to further his dream and give it legitimacy! If not, they’re discarded, ignored or rejected! NGONGE, lets not focus on the above but argue the same line again and again even though none of the above are in a position to dictate to the other their 'dreams'. round and round we go
  16. I will be rooting on the GUNNERS 2mrw, i hope they do a good job on Roy Kean and Gary Neville the sparks will fly from the off. Rooney: Sorry mate, but i know you will be supporting Milan on Wednesday night
  17. Currently working with English, Irish, German Architect, Nigerian Architect, Nigerian Civil Engineer, Iranian Civil Engineer, Nigerian security Guard, Jamaican Labourer, approx 30 Russian/romanian/east EU labourers, i get along with all of them (except a few Chelsea supporters)
  18. Nigeria originally borrowed about $17 billion; it has already repaid $18 billion, but still owes $34 billion. Just $2.1 billion in loans from bilateral creditors since 1971 has snowballed into over $22 billion in debts. Somaliland/Somalia in the future if we are not careful. Rather than accepting responsibility for their part in propping up corrupt and oppressive regimes in these ways, and taking steps to repatriate stolen assets now invested in their countries, creditors continue to demand repayment from subsequent democratic governments. The countries’ populations, who suffered at the hands of oppressive regimes, now suffer again because of the debt. I touched on this topic in another thread a while ago and asked whether there may be a case for eradicating old debt recieved under the former Somali Govnt by highlighting the fact that no of the money was actually used to help the ppl but rather to buy arms during the cold war. Any international lawyers in the house?
  19. This is awful, cant take reading this Between 1980 and 2001, the proportion of people living in poverty in the developing world fell by half — from 40% to 21%. World Bank Yeah right, they would say that
  20. Interesting questions,,,, When relating this to a Somali politician he would probably not know what most of the terms (if not all) are. Imagine a country's politicians not knowing about these issues and leading us to the 'promised land' of debt 2) What do you know about the IMF and the WORLD BANK? Do you think they are there to help the poor nations to "develop" or do you simply think that they are proxies of the US govt? The International Monetary Fund/World Bank will 'invest' money into countries that fall into its required criteria. Re-payment terms are such that in most cases the countries will never come out of debt as interest rates are variable and never fixed. So you never know what exactly you will be paying back  . i shall come to this

Tolstoy My analysis of the situation back home and what 'i' feel is not up for discussion. As we all have minds and hearts of our own (i hope). The bigger issue in question is, why, after some 14 years, is Somaliland not recognised yet and why is it looking more like a dictatorship is sprouting up (after the last one was rid of)? Again, we have the same issue i was trying to highlight to Baashi (the engineering problem) but aimed at pro Somalilanders. We screaming for independence and recognition but its obvious if this is indeed achieved we will no doubt become just another corrupt African country in debt to the UN/IMF/World Bank. Is this what we want, is this what you and other pro Somalilanders want??? . You see i would rather let things be as they are rather than become a country in debt and corrupted under the false pretence of 'independence is a good thing'. Not with this govnt i say. I would probably have alot to gain from an Independent Somaliland in terms of income when the flood gates of a free market are opened. But i'm not prepared to accept this with corruption and poor health and education services as a result. Its probably my fault for considering all the options/scenarios that may occur before committing to something as important as this. Hey, i work in an industry where analysis to details is as common as apples and pears. I dont have the time for a lengthy and detailed essay on the topic but i try to condence it due to time restraints. Northerner, who would rather talk about as to who shall win between Liverpool and AC Milan in next Tuesday in Istanbul of Turkey for the European football championship I may not be as up-to-date on Somali politics as i am on football, but one gets the gist of all arguments taking place within a few minutes of reading threads and being able to post his thoughts if needs be. However, one may not wish to be too passionate as we all politics corrupts one's heart and mind where he soon cant see the wood from the trees  ps the Liverpool vs Milan game is on Wednesday
