May Allah help this young man. There are alot like him that end up in hospitals without the knowledge of either relatives or Somalis at all. The media and the met may keep this sort of news silent but I am sure with a little creativity, we can make very loud, effective and informative noises. We just need few things: an individual with sufficient communication skills -dressed in a presentable fashion- and a self-styled PR and guerrilla film-making crew. Produce ad hoc news via dedicated sites, video and posters- and soon enough you will get the attention of all. I know it isn't very pretty the way I put it, but it is just an idea.

^^^ THE EMPEROR, I know you are angry, but that is not a way to talk to a sister. Just let her express herself, and in turn, address her more pleasantly. After all, as the saying goes, 'these are words on a screen, words on a screen' .

^^ Abit too streotypical, isn't it? Be pleasant Mr President. Though I can appreciate the cause of your alarm, everything in the African continent is not in the grip of HIV/AIDS' gloom and doom! Be more optimistic about our African brethren, would you?

Below is a quote from another topic in SOL discussing a topic similar to this one. April 2005, more than a year ago J11: More generally, if Ethiopia installs 'friendly Somali government' in Somalia, my fears are that Ethiopia may become the sheperone figure in dealings that may take place, in the future, between Somalia and China. China and Somalia historically had close and strong deplomatic relationship, specially in the pre-civil war years. An example of this is that most of the completed infrustractural projects within Somalia had been done by China. This close relationship may never be achieved again in most circumstances, except for one. Only if Ethiopia brokers a reasonable deal with Somalia of non-interference and good pay in the transportion of Ethiopia's newly-found gas (in the Ogden mostly) via pipe-lines planned to go across Somalia and, be exported from new-port to be built in the Somali coast. Thus in a fair economic agreement, may we derive some taxation and autonomy over our land. Furthermore, in one of other outstanding issues, Somalia must - and should- make its protestations known about Ethiopia's diversion (in Godey with the help of Scandenevian construction companies) of River Shabelle, which may result in the starvation of water from the Somali hinterland. The Shabelle dam project, according to secure sources, is already complete and holds the capacity to reduce River Shabelle to a trickle of water, with crippled velocity that hinders water travelling to Somali regions. This is not acceptable in any condition, and in any foreseeable future. Ethiopia expels US poll offficers

NEWS JUST IN: The parliament voted YES to foreign troops. War deg deg ah: Xildhibaanada oo isku raacey in ay yimaadaan ciidamo aan kala soocneyn Baydhabo- 14.June.2006 Xildhibaanada Baarlamanka KMG ah ee Soomaaliya ayaa galabta u codeeyey qorshe ku aadan in ciidamada imaanaya dalka ay noqdaan kuwa ay u dhan yihiin wadamada iyo in laga reebo wadamada dariska la ah Soomaaliya. Codeynta oo bilaabatey duhurnimadii maanta ayaa waxaa loo codeynayey hab qarsoodi ah oo xildhibaanada codkooda ay ku ridayeen baqshad loo diyaariyey codeynta. Waxaa la sameeyey laba cod oo kala ah Kor in ciidamada imaanya aysan ka mid noqon wadamada dariska la ah Soomaaliya iyo Hoos oo ah in ciidamada imaanaya dalka aan la kala soocin oo ay si buuxda u imaan karaan dalka. Si kastaba ha ahaatee go'aanka ay maanta gaareen xildhibaanada Baarlamanku gaareen ee ku aadan in ciidamo aan lakala soocin ay yimaadaan dalka ayaa wuxuu yahay mid si weyn ay isha ugu hayeen shacabka Soomaaliyeed, iyadoo go'aanka ciidamo ay ku imaanayaan uu ku xiran yahay ogolaanshaha laga helo Qaramada Midoobey oo iyadu cunaqabateyn hubka ah ku soo rogtey Soomaaliya. ^^^ This seems like a replay of Bosaaso of the early 1990s for the Oldman. Nightmares, damn never ending nightmares . Let the hauntings begin. PS: I don't think attacking Baydhaba is strategically advisable. An attack on Baydhaba may create a complex situation as far as I am concerned. Not worth the effort. Let Yey be.

^^^ Another thing you should notice is that the project seems to be a SOL venture. Look at the bottom of the page. Good design, but the videos are not working for me for some reason.

A very crucial moment. The courts' next move will either make or break them. I hope they make the right decision. Although the TFG is a weakling today, the courts may want to work with the TFG as leaving the TFG idle will only lead to it being used by another enemy (Ethiopia or re-grouped warlords). There is little wonder that some of the defeated warlord militias are joining the ranks of the TFG.

Adeerayaal, inkastoo aan rabey in aan faallo tafatiran idiinkaga soo gudbiyo waxyaalaha aan soo qorey, hadaba kadib markaan akhriyey nacnacleynta qabyaalladeed ee aad soo daabacdeen, ayaanba isaga gaabsadey jawaabtii dheereyd aan idin siin lahaa. And as I said before, like or not, Somalia nin waliba xaqqa uu leeyahay illaa loo aqoonsado, dulka uu deegaan ahaan leeyahayna ka tallintiisa loo qirto (weligeed qaysan-naanshoba ha keento e') wax nabad la yiraahdo Somalia dhadhamin meyso. Marka raggiinan uu dhiiga beelleed kacayow, iyo kuwiinan kale ee aan xaqiiqdo la soconow, dhugta ereyadeyda; waa hadaad daacad tihiin, hadii kalese, iska wada beenta aad isku maaweelisaa. Good luck.

The courts claim victory, aint this something? I guess my support has now materialized. Kudos to the courts.

^^ Sadly yes. I am surprised you haven't realised it sooner. In what state of mind have you been living, Xiin? It is worrying.
-
^^ I am also going to be alittle busy for the coming future, Insha-Allah. But b4 I I disappear, let me depart this home-truth to our good friend Xiinfiniin. Brother Xiin, have you, in your years in Somali politics, asked yourself a very revealing and simple question? If you are a critical analyst, you would have long ago asked yourself: In the name of the so-called Somali Nationalism, whose unity are we concerned with and whom will nationalism benefit most? If you were sincere or honest enough with yourself and us, by searching with yourself for the answer to the question, you will get new insights in the way the management of the Somali people is structured out. The ill-informed and averagely brain-washed Somali nationalist will have heroes such as Axmad Gurey, WiilWaal and Sayid Cabdulle Xassan, latterly to some Siayd Barre was a hero of some kind. The national literature was full of Raage Ugaas, Ismaaciil Mire and Sayidka. The clever person's deductions will unearth the true meaning of what nationalism meant in Somalia, it simply meant Glorified D--rodism. That is all it was. So the search for the NFD and the Zone five was motivated by this filthy glorification of the Tribe. Even today, the main reason the D--rood and Is--q squabble over the secession of some land is this legacy of appealing to Tribal Filth. Neither D--rood nor Is--q, as long as they rally half-baked individuals for the tribal cause, will ever know let alone grasp true love for the country and nation as a whole. Somalis are ruled by the clan, that is a fact. Anyone who denies it, is deluding him/herself. I for one acknowledge that and wish to kill the currency with which the clan has taken hold of our psyche. So long as we force people into things like unity or fake nationalisms, they will resist by resorting to the clan time and again. The very creation of Puntland and Somaliland are very much necessitating the use of the clan in more ulgy and detrimental ways than before and the sooner other regions of the country taste the bitterness of separating themselves as clan fiefdoms, the better in realising and going beyond the fake offers of the clannists. The clannists have no future and they know it. However, until all Somalis become Transcendentalists that see beyond the clan, the future will remain deem. I am one of the many transcendentalists who want change, who have detached themselves from the clan and opted out of it forever. I support secessions not because I think they are clannish or not, but I strongly support their universal right to pursue their autonomy or independence. I am in support of Puntland, Riverland or Jubaland for that reason and that reason alone. So Xiin, I will leave you to tow the line of the veiled D—rood sold as nationalism. PS: I mean no disrespect to any clan or tribe, but the analysis reveals many things that have remained hidden for centuries. A new beginning is of paramount importance.

^^^ waxaasi oo dhami waa faataadhug aan fiiro dheer ku dhisnayn. Waddanbaa kala go'aya xaq looma baajin kayaro sxb. Dadka waddani isku sheegga ah ayaa ka indha la' dhibaatooyinka mustaqbalka hore ka iman kara dadka la maquuniyo sxb. You can't force anyone into a union he/she isn't happy with. The so-called fake nationalists you refer to are simpletons and they are more likely to preach the very thing that would spell discontent between fellow Somalis in the future. For a strong union and bond of nationalism to exist, people must create this bond of nationalism, and also they MUST and this is a MUST, get the feeling that their taking part of the union is the result of the FREE CHOICE and WILL. Thus, in testing whether they really are free to make their own choices based on free will, they will demand autonomy, independence and devolved power. For a while they may remain separate entities, however, they are most likely to enter into a nationalistic bond with the rest of the Somalis. If history teaches us anything, it must teach us to study how Somalis in the for British Somaliland volunteered to join hands with their brethren in the South. They were not forced, but they made their own choice. Unfortunately the empty heads of the so-called nationalists are repaying this act of good-heartedness with ill-treatment. Somalia wey kala go'eysaa is not a pretty cry, wuxuu Illaah hal meel ka dhigo unbaa hal meel ahaada sxbyaal. However much we cry foul and say the country will disintegrate, our cries would deal with the real issues that need our attention: understaning not how the country is breaking up but WHY! If you ask me (and I know many of you will critisize me for it), I would prefer if the country is broken up into all the pieces possible, and only then tried to acknowledge the rights of every entity to have every small group represented and then sign treaties between all entities as equals and appreciated by the law. The willingness and voluntary love for that kind of Somalia where everyone is seen as an important and cherished citizen can all these shadowy nationalisms drived by simpletons be done away with.
-
^^ I didn't Castro. I hope more Somalis become less emotive and see things clearly.
-
The above quote smells of instrumental reason and religiosity. There was nothing Muslim about the voluntary willingness and motivation that culminated in the unity of Somalis in the first place; people were Muslim but the unity had everything to do with nationalism. The flag waving and the nationalistic chants went this way: Soomaaliyeey toosoo, toosoo isku tiirsada e . The chant wasn't saying: Muslinoow toosoo, toosoo isku tiirsada e, if that was so then I would accept the argument. Buw now the above quote is utterly nonsensical and irrelevant. More to the point, does Islam tell us to subjugate Muslim peoples in any manner that is pleasing to us and harmful to them? Better still, has Islam made moral judgement the prerogative or the province of a selected and self-interested group? I am afraid, NO. It is fairness that Islam is associated and that fairness has universal applicability.
-
However confounding this may sound, I cannot bring myself to accept that one man can tell what the other should do. Something gotta give. Although I have never indulged in discusions between Somalia/Somaliland, I have this feeling in my gut that we (and I believe I subscribe to the 'we' of Somaliweyn), are not very rational in our claims. We have so far raised questions about the jusfiability of Somaliland's existence, yet, I am certainly sure, it would feel awkward if the same questions of existential nature are raised about our Somaliness altogether. Self-releflection of the treatment towards Somaliland should reveal that while we are delving in naivette, Somaliland is also doing the same thing. Somaliland has some questions concerning territorial integrity to answer, and if the leaders of Somaliland are rational enough, they can answer these outstanding questions. What is needed here are concessions. We must concede to the truth sooner than later. Both parties should concede to the existence of a God-given right for peoples to manage their affairs and territories. Force doesn't yield to fruition in this inter-Somali issue; if it did, 15 years of civil war would have left us with fields of plenty to reap. We know this wasnt the case. However, choices, my friends, independent and voluntary choices are the key to long-lasting peace and good neighbourliness. If Somaliland goes its own way, then Somaliweyneey, what is wrong with that? If regions within the former British Somaliland map want to go their own way from Somaliland, then Somalilanders, what is wrong with that? Nothing at all.

^^^ Did you read about cambaaraynta Cade ee shirkada Range Resources? Apparently he was cut short by the Minister of Mining while he was in the middle of his criticism. Strangely enough, he seems be of the same mind with Shariifka. On other fronts, Puntland admin in Bari has locked up Cabdi Faarax Maxamed of the INXA. Guess what was the reason for his imprisonment? For daring to demonstrate against the war in Mogadishu, a right granted by Puntland's constitution. Mr. Duke, I know you yourself has been petitioning against the war, so i'd like to know, how would it feel if that peaceful petition was called into question? I mean, it is one thing arresting organizers of anti-Puntland demonstrations, but to arrest the organizers of demonstrations that are by no means harmful to Puntland indicates that those at the helm of Puntland don't want any sort of national sentiment towards unified opposition towards war. Puntland admin, it would come across, has more to gain from Somalia's state of civil war than it would in peaceful Somalia. If that is not the case, then, why else would they arrest the organizers? Somehow all other reasons become silly.

Nice topic, Animal Farm. Starting your own business is one thing, but playing the stock market is quite another. Somalis are not yet well-placed to take such huge risks such as the one of the stock market. Playing the stock market will depend on what sort of shares one is buying/selling. For Somalis for example, with the talk of oil exploration/agreements in Puntland and Somalia in general, it is the right time to seek connections that lead to contracts and deals. That way, if luck is one your side, you might be able to play the stock market. I am keen towards playing the stock market but I haven't yet decided on it. So no, no stock market for me yet. Other business plans are however under review. What about yourself, Animal Farm, any interests in hitting the stock market?
