  2. thinking a plan ride from here to minneapolis is not worth my hard earned $ 500
  3. ~~~Late comer~~~ But whatever it is, i want to be included
  4. Emperor, I fully agree with you. I fail to see the amazing part of this video..i thought in the mist of hanging about, Superman or something was going come and rescue her. Now that would have been amazing. But nothing, she just kept hanging about ( waiting, i'm sure for some glimmer of hope) and then fell; subhanallah, some people have no heart. I would have been throwing rocks at him
  5. Am i the only one who fails to see the joy of squeezing something the size of a watermelon out of something the size of a walnut???
  6. Hahahaha...I'm sorry but everytime they said butt..i couldn't help but die of laughter!
  7. ^ I actually just deleted everything and programmed Microsoft Vista...much better, alhumdullilah. Before, it seemed it was beyond repair and i noticed everytime i downloaded some webdefender it would actually add more spyware and adware to my computer. Solution= start all over

Moving is too complicated. I've been thinking of moving for some time, but the more i think about it the more reasons i produce for staying. If nothing else, the draw of free healthcare is far too tempting to give up. But i heard Belgium has free healthcare too?
  9. ^^ Maybe you're in a place where everyone else has THAT accent???

    oprah

Watching Oprah is like watching the country music channel. It's somewhat enjoyable, but when you catch yourself ( or when someoneelse catches you) you swtich it off quickly, and aviod a potential mocking situation!
  11. Pujah! Thank you. I was starting to feel abnormal. I suppose the Londoners do not see the sex appeal the North American accent can have. I must admit there is something quite captivating about southern accents...although I do not understand a word of what they're saying. But the English accent..I'm telling you the dude can read the phone book and there is something sensual about it Cadaan...hahaha...no comment
  12. Isn't that the essence of an arrange marriage? Someone you are compatible with but not necessairly attracted to. If on the list everthing is checked off and you come down the list and looks is not, maybe the rest will make up for it. But i can sympathise with what you are going through as a situation like that did happen to me. I didn't want to go through with it because i felt i wouldn't be as devouted to the marriage as he was. Besides, you don't want to be comparing your husband to every man you see down the street. Nevertheless, this is a serious issue and must be taken in high regards
  13. The ultimate summer jams has got to be 'This is how we do it' and ' Informer.' I remember when I was younger people walkin' around carry boom boxes on their shoulders blasting those two joints. For the longest time i thought Snow was a black dude with the way he jammed, but you would think with a name like Snow it would be a dead give away!

I wouldn't mind relocating myself, getting tired of T.O. perhaps London? I see nothing wrong with relocating though, it is inherent to us, afterall. Anyways there are over 192 countries if we don't ping pong across them during our lifetime, think of all the expereinces we shall miss, whether good or bad!
  15. Jazakumullah khair Everyone, I think his intentions are purely, and inshallah they are. I've been able to link him with some responsible brothers who are part of our local dawah masjid. I just hope the light of guidance is brighter for him, then the rest of the wordly distractions, inshallah.
  16. So as a Canadian chick, anything with a UK/Australian has crazy appeal for me. The dude can be mashed looking, but if he has the accent...i don't know he just somehow becomes prettier. Is it just me or does that exist for the rest of you? Aswell, do Londoners find North American 'accents' attractive?
  17. I totally agree with you Sue. Like cheese somethings just get better with age But for the 15 year old who is more responsible than their 25 year old conterpart, what they lack is the bitterness and jaded character one gains with age, which acts as a buffer from the cruelity of life in general.
  18. I truly hate spyware, it comes at you out of nowhere. I am currently making battle with it, but it looks like I shall lose the war also. I've downloaded web-defender...err, defends nothing mind you! My laptop won't let me restore because it claims it was not turned on, dammit! So can y'all make any suggestions. If not, i'm just going to have to erase everything from the hand-drive and install it all again. blah
  19. Hello So I’ve been a member on SOL since ’04…how fast time flies. Yea, I know I have less than 200 post, what can I say not much of a poster…until now. It’s so weird coming back, trying to re-remember my nick and password, and then reading my previous post. I must say, I still crack myself up after reading what I use to write . I am too funny (this is me being humble). I use to come on here once in a while and would read the ongoing drama of this forum, but I’ve noticed as the years passed my favourite commentators started to dwindle away (not to say the newcomers aren’t just fab). My favourites from the past would have to be Sophist and Hibo, they were pretty cool. I was going to add Rudy, until I realized he’s still here. I don’t know whether that is a good thing or not though . Who was your favourite from back in the day or just people who use to post and no longer do? And why them particularly?
  20. Hello Everyone I never realized the importance of height- both in men and women. I am relatively tall so the thought of ‘being too short’ never crossed my mind. But what seems like a gigantically small non-issue is actually not. My friend is currently seeing someone. I don’t necessarily see anything wrong with the guy. I mean he’s decent looking, his life is set, and he has his deen on check. So, what’s up you ask, eh? Well the guy just so happens to be shorter than her. That seems to be the only thing on her mind. I was recently watching this documentary S & M: Short and Male and they were taking about how short males are treated like second-hand citizens having to fight for everything: women, respect, and jobs. In the beginning of the film, we learn that 99% of sperm banks will only accept donors who are at least 5’11 and in China height is actually a criterion for most jobs (and I’m not just talking about modelling). I look at the media particularly Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise and wonder how she is able to be with a guy who is shorter than her. I mean the chick actually needs to bend down to give him a decent hug. Isn’t that just a little too weird? So are short men really discriminated against? Would you go for a dude that was shorter than you? Or if you’re a male would you go for a chick that was taller than you?
  21. Hello Beautiful People! I was reading through this post either in the women's section or general about names and if it correlated with people's personalities/attributes. I have this thing with names and i tootally agree with the post. If only i could find it, then i would have link it on. Anywho, everytime i meet someone new i try to assimilate or accomodate their name's and personality into my learning schema. I tell people my theories and they get offended ( especially if it is there name i am describing badly). So i shall share some with you guys. ( i dont mean to offend anyone one, so lets just take this with a grain of salt). All of the ________ i've met are: Ayan: They all tend to be happy people. They make friends very easily and have many of them. They are usually the centre of attention and be loud at times. Samira: They are as their name means 'entertainers.' They are lively, always joking and making people laugh, whether it be with the jokes they tell or the person they are Halima: They are soft-spoken people, and can be serious most times. They are total goody-two-shoes and exhibit 'elderest child syndrome' Segal: They tend to me in your face kind of people. They are very opinionated and stubborn. They always have something to prove and at the end of the day they won't leave you alone until you surrender. They also tend to be total feminist:) Najma: They have aviodant personality. They make friends and lose them even quicker. They are super sarcastic, which people find to me rude. Muna: They are hella crazy, always willin' out. Also most of the ones i met are two-faced. They are one way with some friends and the polar opposite with others. Also, you tell them stories and next thing you know you're hearing your own stories back. These are all extreme cases of course, but what do y'all think. Is there some truth to my observations or have they all been in vain. Do y'all have your own generalizations?
  22. Salam Alaikum Everyone, I need some advice, so if you can give it, please do! I've known this guy for about 4 years. And when i say i know him, i only mean that. I see him around once in a while and we casually say hi. The thing is when we were in highschool he use to be the biggest pessemist ever, wanting nothing to do with God and religion. Once in a while though he would ask to borrow my Quran the one with the english translations so he could read it through. After highschool he sends me this random e-mail saying how he wants to see me and if we can chill. I tell him i don't 'chill' with guys as it is nto part of my religion. Then recently he calls me up and was like, 'yeah, i've been reading through, i believe in God and i really truly believe there is a higher being. My dilemma then is whether i should be educating him about Islam; i mean he did call me. Aswell, there is this really great lecture coming up this summer...and i would really love to approach him about it, asking him whether he would like to come or not...but would that be too weird? Besides, i'm basically broke and i don't want to buy the ticket just to get a 'no, thanks, i rather not' what shall i do?
  23. my all time feel good song would have to be Aqua's Barbie girl! ahh! i wonder where they are now?
  24. I'm not a big tv fan but I don't know if you guys remember this show called Reunion, it use to air last year on Fox. Well, that show i use to watch madly; it didn't matter what i was doing at the time or where i was: i was either watching it or it was being recorded. It was about these 6 bestfriends who graduated in 1986 and by 2005 one of them is murdered, and the remaining five are suspects. So for each episode, it chronicalled one year. Anyways, long story short, Fox had the not-so-brilliant of cancelling the show. I have yet to find a show worth watching. Man, Survivor was good though  ...back in the days....
