  1. Somalis are unique, there's no one else in the world like them, so there's no need to claim being African or Arab. But for the sake of argument, Somalis are African simply because they're from Africa, same as Arabs in Egypt are African because they're from Africa.
  2. ^Kids ask too many questions, don't they? Layla will ask me a question and I'll give her an answer, then she'll ask me a question about the answer i gave her to the first question, then I'll give another answer, then she asks another.....repeatX3 until I finally have to say "no more questions, dear" So is anyone else freexing their *** off? It's -10 in Calgary and that's the warmest it's been all week, and then back own to -30 on Sunday
  3. I never follow through with New years resolutions anyways, so I gave up on them.

  6. If he's looking to start a business, he should go to the US. If he's planning to just find any place other than Africa, he should go to England and live on the dole the rest of his life
  7. It's all the same every 4 years. Brazil, Italy, France, and Spain, with one cinderella team who gets defeated by one of the aforementioned 4 teams in the semis. Who cares?
  8. I saw my daughter's grade 2 class picture and she's the tallest one in the class masha Allah. She got that from her grandmother, a 5'10" British/German woman you don't want to see when she's mad

  10. Taxes? That's what H and R Block is for. I used to do my taxes myself, but then I got married and had kids and put money into RRSPs and it became too much of a hassle so I decided to pay someone else to do it for me.
  11. Wow, no bloody wonder so many Somali brits are either on benefits or not declaring their income. @40% tax, I wouldn't want to get a job either!! LOL And I thought Canada was bad, but after working it out on the old calculator I paid about 24.5% for income tax, C.P.P.(Canada pension plan) and U.I.(Unemployment insurance) Of course it's probably higher if you make more money but I only made 50K. As for the original topic, I don't think anyone will dispute that most of us, myself included, have used the social services programs of our country at one time or another, and we are grateful for getting that help when we may have had no other option at the time, or for those of us who have never needed those services, I am sure that they feel secure knowing that those programs are in place in case they do need to use them someday. This is not a problem and I'm sure most people have no problem seeing their tax money go towards these programs. What is a problem though is the few that abuse the system, who stay on welfare for years when they are able-bodied and have no good reason to be on welfare anyways. As for Bashir and Nasra, whether they have been on cey*r ever since they came to England in 1991, most of us don't know, and as Muslims we should give them the benefit of the doubt and as Nabi Muhammad SCW said, give them 70 excuses. But if they have been on welfare for the last 18 yrs and just can't be bothered to find a job, or think it's OK to abuse the gov't cuz they're kafirs, then that's despicable and unislamic, and it doesn't matter what their nationality is, anyone who does something like this is doing something despicable and will have a hard time earning my respect.
  12. Being economical "fit" or "well off" is not a criteria for having children. Wow, I didn't realize that I didn't have to be able to support my children, that takes a load off my mind!! Well, I'm off to find 4 wives and have as many kids as I can, after all the gov't will pay for them. He probably thought he was being photographed for Page 6 I can see the reporter going "Sir, we just found out the majority of our readers are women, so from now on we want to put in a picture Britain's sexiest man to reflect that. I saw you at the tube station trying to squeeze through a turnstile and knew we had found our very first subject." LOL I highly doubt that, but I honestly do believe the Sun reporter did lie to Bashir, he probably told him the Sun was doing a story on Somali immigrants adjusting to life in England or some bullshidh and then slyly changed the subject to "my, what a nice place you have here, why don't you have a seat in those nice couches by the huge TV and I'll take your picture for the paper? Give us a big smile!!" Meanwhile Bashir, who obviously isn't all that bright must have been thinking "wow dis is great, I have my bicture in de newsbaber. De Soomaali kamuuniti will be so broud!!"
  13. Ship 'em all to Canada, lots of water over here(well ok, snow ) and I can finally taste hilib geel. Don't know why they don't import the stuff....

  15. Lily, you declined to let him pay for your groceries, and you're calling him the weirdo? Well at least you can't say that he has bad taste.
  16. Who said birth control is haram? I've read that birth control is halal as long as it is done between a married couple and not zina. And if it is haram, there are alternate methods of trying to prevent pregnancy which I will not go into detail about on a family-friendly discussion board And if the pills are free, I'm sure the education is too(at least for low-income families) Instead of spending all this time caring for children(and making more that they can't afford to raise), these two should be out learning something which will get them a job instead of just sitting around on the dole. But I guess it's their life and it's not my tax money, and I can't say much anyways since my kids are welfare recipients as well, so whatever. But there's too much of this going on, too many excuses and not enough trying to fix the problem, it seems too many people are satisfied with welfare money. I couldn't live on welfare, I got expensive tastes

  18. Well, they gave her the choice of where she wanted to live, I would've picked a place like this too! But why the hell are they still breeding like rabbits when neither of them has a job? Looks like they have the money to buy nice furniture and TVs, why not spend some on birth control pills?
  19. Congrats KK! I was almost an Eid baby, I was born the day after Eid-al-fitr
  20. I really thought Canada would be in there, maybe it's #11
  21. Welcome back Ms DD where have you been? Did you go to Somalia? And where are you now? You said your adopted cold country so I'm imagining Canada but it's actually been kinda nice around here the last few days, hovering around 10-15 degrees(yes that's warm ) And Eid mubarak Juxa
