Originally posted by Ha Hero's Madam: Here's a couple of Canadian sayings that I think are weird especally this one: Your friend calls you on the phone asks what your doing. The reply in a lot of rural Canadian towns is "Oh, I'm f*#king a dog." which means I' doing nothing. And out in the praire towns of you ask for directions to the next town a lot of the times the answer you get is "well a far as the crow flies...." The phrase "F**king the dog" is usually used at the workplace, not at home. Typically it's used for lazy people at work, as in "Liban's such a dogf**er, I don't know how he keeps his job." But I've never heard the "as far as the crow flies" phrase before in my life.

I am fed up with the worship of Allah and Muhammad " This just shows how much this guy knows about Islam. It's sad to think that people of this much ignorance are wielding any sort of political power.

What are you guys talking about? Everything sounds like it's on the up and up to me. In fact, I'm planning to drain my life savings and invest in this wonderful company. Hello, retirement!!

I think JB just said it, but if he's Ethiopian, he ain't takin' any showers anyways. Now I don't need a big house for sure, but I definitely need a bigger house than that. Living in a place that small with my 2 kids would make me go schizophrenic.

Woohoo, a shout-out!! I'm trying to figure out which one of those 2 guys in the orange shirts is Northerner. And what the hell is with the white mannequin? In Somali(land)? Insha Allah I am gonna visit that store someday, and have my picture taken with it

LOOOOOOOOOOOOL@HHM!!!! You think that's bad? I was at a friend's house one time and there was a picture of a woman on his fridge. I told him "Your girlfriend is hot!!" He replied "That's my mom."

Arabs do the same thing, with the name "Abdul". They shorten their names to simply Abdul from say, Abdul-Rahim, so their name would actually say "slave of". Slave of what?

Those friggin' apartments are $1300/month!! That doesn't sound very "low-income" to me.

Originally posted by Northerner: She flipped through photos of her trip. In many, she poses in front of an aqua sea along a rocky beach. She's wearing colorful, stylish dresses, sunglasses and jewelry. And her hair is free from her hijab. "It's not a good thing. I wear it always," she explained. "But sometimes... sometimes you can go outside your culture." I have a problem with this. Hijab is not part of Somali culture, it is a requirement in the diin of Islam. I'm not knocking her for not wearing hijab in a picture before someone tries to tell me I'm judging her, but she should not say it's about the culture. She's giving kafirs the wrong impression of Islam. P.S. I was wondering if any Somali people live in Roseville, MN?

Honestly, I'm not worried about morons who write crap over the internet. Most of them would be too scared to cause any trouble in real life, so they resort to pretending like they're some sort of crazy right-wing radical from the safety of their computer desk. The rest of them that actually would cause trouble, would do it regardless of the trash written in publications such as this Express, and unfortunately that can't be avoided, but we can pray for the victims if they are Muslim. This is just a futile attempt to try to make Brits feel good for a second, until they realize that they will be an endangered species in 20 years.

Originally posted by Libaax-Sankataabte: Find me and buy me! Do something with your life! That kind of advertising always works. "Your life is worthless without this thing." Anyways, what is the big deal with the iPhone? I can already talk, play music, and take pictures and video with my current cellphone. Will this thing cook a steak for me? Not likely, so it can't be that friggin' great.

Originally posted by -Lily-: Yes an English wedding. I though it strange too, they've probably moved on to the reception by now. Apparently it's good luck if it rains on your wedding day, not sure if there is any truth to that. If it's an English wedding, then they've likely got no choice in the matter. It's gonna rain, no matter what.

Police in western Newfoundland said drive-by pranksters chose unusual objects to throw at an unsuspecting pedestrian: Timbits. RCMP in Deer Lake said a passenger in a vehicle threw the popular Tim Hortons snacks at a woman who was walking on Wight's Road early Tuesday morning. The pedestrian, 20, was not able to read the vehicle's licence plate. She described the car as bronze-coloured and resembling a Trans Am. The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. http://news.channels.aolsvc.aol.ca/news/article.adp?id=20070627143009990016

Most places in Canada are smoke-free now and have been for quite some time in certain places such as Ontario, which I believe imposed a smoking ban a couple of years back. Calgary has been "smoke-free" since Jan. 1st, 2007, but there are exemptions, like a smoking area completely sealed off from the non-smoking section with a separate ventilation, and minors are not allowed in. As well, I believe that if a place is designated a "private club", they are exempt from the smoking bylaw. Maybe England has some loopholes like this, someone should check it out, cuz it sounds like a lot immigrants in the UK are about to get mad.
