UN: Puntland More Populous Than Somaliland---Somaliland Snaps @ UN

Recommended Posts

Somalia

Saalax no need to get emotional, this is the United Nations, is it inherently ANTI-SOMALILAND from recognition to population count? :D

Read more here

It was in June 2012 that UNFPA took the lead to organize Population Estimation Survey of Somalia (PESS) following a request from the United Nations Country Team (UNCT). The PESS was seen as a first important step and as an instrument to enhance statistical capacities inside Somalia and provide soundly accurate, reliable, credible and accepted indicators for more specific follow-up surveys. It would be ideal to conduct a comprehensive population census for Somalia. Considering that a comprehensive census would require formidable institutional, financial and technical resources that are lacking as well as unreliable security and stability in central and southern parts of Somalia. Hence, a population survey complemented by mapping and estimation procedures would most practically serve the need for population data.

In a population census what is counted or estimated are the number of heads or people and not both Guryo or Qoysas. The UN are not too dumb not to know that also the ministers excuses are both funny and weird. Muxuu kaloo yir, the UN should stop counting and wait until our reer Miyi came back from .... kkkkkkkkkkk that's really funny but the funniest of all is this quote:

waxaanu soo qaadanay map-ka Google

:D :D :D

Honestly this reminds me of a young Arab boy turned into a militia fighting in Libya who was asked by a western reporter, how and what tools do you fight with against Gadhafi, and he exclaimed we use google earth :D

Somaliland government need to up their game, this is embarrassing.

I'm glad he's not here yet. This will give him the time to reflect and may force him to consider counting the Oromos in SL as part of the recount. :D

And it is the very methodology that the Somaliland Minister is contesting here after it become apparent it may not fetch the numbers Hargeysa administration were expecting...:D

There are no final numbers yet. It is a prelimenary survey results from Puntland which our brothers in Hargeysa did not like

^He needs to wait for the results and not concern himself with Puntland numbers. That Somalis of all walks think their clan is majority is not a revelation.I'm not surprised with the reactions...

There is nothing to worry about guys, even with large Bay and Bakool, Oromo communities

present in Puntland it will still outnumbered by the Afro hashemite kingdom of Somaliland.

On a serious note - where isthe preliminary data that made the minister so mad? There hasn't been a UN sponsored census since their one of 2005.

Ngonge. Xaaji was looking for ANY Somali to stop Oromo expansion into Somaligalbeed. I doubt he will reconsider his stance on Oromos.

So does this count include Khaatumo and Maakhir?
