Haha, why do you ask? I impulsively cut my hair short about a year and a half ago, but just hitting shoulder length again now

I'll elaborate with a PM.

This looks really cool. How come no one (but 1 person) has yet donated? Perhaps he should go to the local cafes and hang out spots and spread the word there?

C'mon SOL support the brother and help our community progress in this area! If you're not able to financially support him then spread the word and tweet the link or update your status. Its the least you can do.

^Fadhi-ku-dirirland would only discourage him; better to approach the Somali financial heavyweights directly at their London HQs. Another option is spreading the word at Sci-Fi comic cons.

Successful indiegogo campaigns usually have a video pitch, so he should consider doing that as well. I'm sure people would be more inclined to donate if they could see the illustrator talking about this project and his previous work.

LOL, I read comics man, you can download them now on your Ipad. Its a multi-billion dollar business, with huge markets in the US and Japan. Wondercon and Comiket are must-see events, even if your not into comics. All of the good movies lately are based on a comic in some form or another.

The last time I checked, only nerds and virgin male teens read comic books in the west, and we Somalis don't have either one.

So I say don't quit your day job just yet!

Faheema.

Why is it so hard for somalis to support and encourage each other horta? Regardless of the type of venture, very few help one another to succeed.

IF a fraction of SOL members pledge to donate $1 to help this fellow Somali, he could achieve his target and possibly his dream.

^

That $1 would be better spent if it were sent back home to Somalia as charity instead of wasting it on this man's nonsense which you call dreams.

Well this is demoralising, so many views yet no support.

Brother is in the wrong profession, or catering to a non-existent audience.

This is a mistake many Somalis make, he should aim for a wider audience. All the best to him though. :)

ask yourself before foolishly pledging support for this nonsense..........if his gross misrepresentation, sexist and pornographic portrayal of our women, who are indeed the laf-dhabarka of our society, is worthy of your support? also....... do you want your kids and other people's kids reading this highly perverse and disturbing graphic literature?

i'll wait for your response. thanks.
