I never understood why leaders in Somalia are all dusty old relics with nothing to offer. We have one of the youngest populations in the world, yet we allow men several generations removed run us in to the ground. It's time we put an age limit on political leaders in Somalia, I would set it at 30.

I think the headline misrepresents what the man said. It is true, if the coming Somaliland-Somalia talks are not a success then conflict could be the result and ready waa in la ahaada.

In dagaal dhammaadaa qofkii doqoni moodaaye

Nin da'weyni waa garan qabyada diillimaa hadhaye

Hadduunbaa digtoonoow horliyo hawl la dawdabaye

Debci yaan la odhan Ciidankay luguhu daaleene

Degta Qoriga saarani inuu dego ka xaaraane

Haddaan moosku soo dumin guryaha daad ma soo galoe

Duddadaan adkayn cadawgu waa soo durrinayaaye

Dablaydiyo korjooguhu ilaa u debedda gaafmeero

Dalka niman u dhaarsani illaa ay diirad ku ilayso

~ Qaasim (AUN) Dabin 1991

Its sad some sick individuals still have 1991 mentalities.

"dawa malaha gurigii dumah iyo qoomkii diriraaye

dukaamada camiran nuurka iyo layrka wada daaran

dekedaakan laga dhoofayiyo maalka soo degayah

waa deeq ilaah iyo fadli an deriska dhaanaaye

daafaha berbera iyo hadii aad xamar mar daymootoh

dooxada kismaayiyo markiyo tan iyo dayniile

naafada dufowdiyo agoon daasan baa tubane

waxa daasad lagu quudiyaa tan iyo dooloowe

degaankeeda nimankiilahaa dalag mabeertaane

daciif iyo miskiinbay noqdeen laga ducaystaaye

waxa loodamiray siday yihiin duulki nabi luude

hayeeshee, dareenbaygujiray taniyo dayrtiiye

duqay iyo ikhyaar bari jirtaan doodlagelayaaye

fariinbaan udirayaa war aan daabacee qoraye

daalaan usii saarayaa duciyo aamiine

dooroonayaal waydinkii daadahaynjiraye

nimanbaa dagaal hurinayeyo dabiyo baaruude

dalnah madhawro ruuxii qalbiga daabac kaga yaale

inta eebahay dawlad iyo dereg uyeelaayoh

ku dadaala nabadbaan wax lagu doorsadaa jirine"

Abwaan Axmed Max'ed.

ku dadaala nabadbaan wax lagu doorsadaa jirine

Wise words.

Oh no he's not. He is realist. He is correct to let those directly in these discussions what the repercussion if failure could be. If the talks are successful; fantastic. The folks round the table need to deliver or else...*

NGONGE

Wilfred Owen

Dulce Et Decorum Est

Bent double, like old beggars under sacks,

Knock-kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge,

Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs

And towards our distant rest began to trudge.

Men marched asleep. Many had lost their boots

But limped on, blood-shod. All went lame; all blind;

Drunk with fatigue; deaf even to the hoots

Of disappointed shells that dropped behind.

GAS! Gas! Quick, boys!-- An ecstasy of fumbling,

Fitting the clumsy helmets just in time;

But someone still was yelling out and stumbling

And floundering like a man in fire or lime.--

Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light

As under a green sea, I saw him drowning.

In all my dreams, before my helpless sight,

He plunges at me, guttering, choking, drowning.

If in some smothering dreams you too could pace

Behind the wagon that we flung him in,

And watch the white eyes writhing in his face,

His hanging face, like a devil's sick of sin;

If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood

Come gargling from the froth-corrupted lungs,

Obscene as cancer, bitter as the cud

Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues,--

My friend, you would not tell with such high zest

To children ardent for some desperate glory,

The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est

Pro patria mori.

p.s.

Dulce et decorum est Pro patria mori = It is sweet and proper to die for one's country.
