Artificial Intelligence Islam?

Recommended Posts

Wadani

If the soul is something completely different from the mind and body, then that would mean in the afterlife everyone would be incorporeal and thoughtless.

Ur premise is flawed walaal, because thoughts and a corporeal existence will be a reality in the hereafter regardless of the souls relationship with the body or the mind. How else would the inhabitants of paradise experience happiness (thoughts are prequisites for emotions), or sensual pleasure (skin is required) without mind and body. When we are being ressurected, it isn't ghost-like spirits that will emerge from the grave, but complete beings with body, mind and soul.

With all respect , there will be anything close to human intelligence and almighty Allah is the only who can make so.

People sometimes think just because we came this far with computers and wireless devices we will ever reach that point

and if we do so

Such thing is materialistic and not being, everything it does is from software .

This idea is from scifi movies like irobot

If the soul existed before your body come to existance then why can't we remember before we born or our parent ever met???

forxamaple i was born 1978, i dont not remember lets say 1977 because i did not existed. so could it be when i die the time for me will be like before 1978, a non existance time.

To be honest, I doubt that you will remember any of your experiences before the age of three due to a lack of conceptual understanding before that age, the notion of your parents meeting would not have been known to you at birth or the years that followed. Anyhoot.. In Islam, we believe that the soul goes through different stages, namely the covenant, not connected to your being in this world. Then, the womb, dunya, barzakh and aakhira, the last three stages are interrelated.

Again, the issue of conceptual understanding is at play here, see you have certain notions of what existence means which in my view as a believer of a higher purpose are somewhat limiting. Yes, your soul existed before you were born, but your brain and social understanding did not-- go back to my last post! As I said, the soul is the driver of meaning and feeling and these are determined by the purpose for which we were created (in Islam to worship which was basis of the covenant). You don't remember it, because this is life is ultimately the test, however, recognition of ones' purpose and of a greater being has been evident historically through human civilisations which have shown an inclination to worship something. Socialisation also determines the meanings that we attach to these feelings.

probably when someone dies that person will become like the same stage that person was before he was born whichs non existance!

first you did not exist. today now you exist and in the future you will not exist. and you will never come back again.

soul is that air comes out of your lungs once you dead & then translates itself into oxygen a new born breathes. So all that air we live on is from dead bodies thru the centuries.when nuclear occurs all oxygen is consumed, then no one lives & that means no more soul..Vacuum.Hell & heaven will be depopulated.

Thanks, Shar ma'arke. It's most likely gobbledegook for these guys with their simple view of life.

Boondheere and Burahadheer,

To you your believe and to us ours, there's nothing more to say. :)

I believe the thread starter has requested that atheists should stay away from this topic, laakin gacmahaa cuncunaayo yaa celin karo hee, gaal Soomaali unbaa ugu daran adduunka, muran gag iyo macangaganimo isku darsadey.

this is embarrassing, let me clarify a few things

Creation, from the perspective of any spiritual tradition or at least most, is the sole domain of "creator" I.e God. Hence, Humans are only capable of assembling things, not creating things so not God would not consider some man made object "his creation"...

Second, lets go back to that Garden of Edan. Why did Adam and Eve get kicked out and why are solely responsible for their actions out of the million other creations? FREE WILL, consciousness specifically volition. Spiritually, humans are assumed to be the Sole possesors of an innate sense of right or wrong along with the free will to choose between the two. Can robots posses this, I hope the answer is a clear no.

It has absolutely nothing to do with "Souls", Animals supposedly have them too but do they have to choose a religion?

Only *Blessed and to a certain extent Naxar seemed to directly answer some of my questions, and its quite similar to the dialogue between the android and the Ulema in my story. Let's be honest with ourselves, nobody here knows what a ''soul'' exactly is, it's a complete mystery to both science and theology, hence once can't simply say ''my premise is flawed'', when you clearly don't understand the point. This is an android that is thinking ''independently'' and has absorbed the Quran in its system and every single known hadith.

He has said the Shahada and considers himself a muslim, but eventually is rejected by the most prominent scholars of the Islamic world, many of which he defeats in debates because the android with his large storage capacity is more knowledgable than them, and they fail to prove to him that he does not possess a soul. He thinks he has a soul, and he's convinced that this soul already existed before the human engineers build a command-taking android, and that it simply entered his artificial body causing him to acquire independent thought and feel emotions.

It's this idea of himself that is driving him onto a quest for more answers. Someone said the secret is in the word ''artificial'', how so? You mean like ''artificial insemination' that creates real human babies? You mean artificial organs that sustain real human beings? Clearly there is no secret to be found there. Another person said that humans are incapable of creating ''life'', is that person aware of the science behind ''cloning'', which is alot more than ''assembling''? I believe Allah swt gave humans a high level of intelligence to perform feats such as cloning, whether they are haraam or not, they are still capable of doing that. However I personally believe that the insertion of the Soul ultimately lies with Allah swt; he can give life and he can take it away just as easy.

Therefore, if in my story the android considers himself a being that has been given life not by his human engineers but by Allah swt himself, how would you convince him that he's not a creation of Allah, and that he will never enter the afterlife? Mind you, there is nothing to suggest in theological writing that excludes androids from ever acquiring a Soul.
