Showqi Posted February 7, 2012 illaahay ha u naxariistee Siyaad Bare waxa uu ahaa ninka kaliya ee wadankeenii dowlad wanaagsan oo sharaf iyo sumcad leh ka dhisay. Hasayeshee isaga ayuu ahaa kii wadankeena burburka iyo xasuuqa u horseeday, falal badan iyo go'aano badan oo uu ku dhaqaaqayna waxy ahaayeen kuwo bini-aadamnimada ka baxsan. I think I would buy his book, just to get to know the man. What about you, Would you buy this book?

Wadani Posted February 8, 2012 Anyone know about the author? That can tell us a lot about the historical perspective and interpretation of key events that'll be forward in the book, unless the author happens to be a transcendent Somali nationalist who doesn't shamelessly skinny-dip in the dirty waters of clan politics. Sadly being Somali and neutrality in Somali affairs is almost mutually exclusive.

Sensei Posted February 8, 2012 The author runs and owns the Jaale Siad Barre Presidential library; his historical perspective and interpretation of events are pretty obvious. That being said, Siad Barre's legacy- may he rest in eternal peace iA- will be judged against those that preceded and those that followed him. Although, Barre will burden most blame or benefit, history will judge the countless cronies that reproduced his tyranny- Cronies that were of all tribes and clans. I guess it remains to be read to pass any comment.
