new words added to the dictionary

Merriam-Webster updates its dictionary with new words once every ten years. Its 11th edition is due out in stores today. (AP)

Of the following words new to the Merriam-Webster Collegiate dictionary – which have you used?

 

Headbanger - defined as both a hard rock musician and a fan

Dead presidents - paper currency

McJob - low paying and dead-end work

Frankenfood - genetically engineered food

Longneck - beer served in a bottle with a long neck

Dot-commer - someone who works for an online outfit

khuukh - opposite of good looking xalimo

Oy – a Yiddish exclamation

Comb-over - an attempt to cover a bald spot

I was reading it as Somali (quuq!)...thought it was a word you just felt like throwing in. :confused: So how is it pronounced?

khuukh is a west coast farah created term.lol. well i dont wanna get into explaining how to use it. pretty much the dictionary explains where it applies too.

the webster dictionary name has been changed to Kaahin dictionary since they refued to recognize new nomad terms. enjoy all!!!

 

Kaahin updates its dictionary with new words monthly to help nomad dispora understand and be hip to the new terms.
