  2. haha@ Ibts mental right? good hair apparently = $$$ and even once the perfect hair is achieved there is the constant worry of keeping it perfect whatever the cost. Waar too much headache.   3. @ Che, I think the clue is in the name "Islamic cultural centre". But well done to them, with good planning and outreach programmes they can attract a lot of non-muslims and teach them Islam is not something to be frightened of.
  4. Well done to all involved and to Mr B for supporting it. May Allah make it easy for them. The plans for the 15-story building include a swimming pool and theatre.. Looks like it will be much more than a simple mosque though.

  9. Looking forward to reading Under the lions Gaze @ Seeker. White Teeth is a good read with interesting characters (love the dad), worth sticking with, read it yonks ago. Finished reading needless to say highly recommend, great adventure story with an interesting ending. Also read for the novelty cool teenage book which shows a good insight into the lives of somali families. (they even live in east london!) feel like reading some non-fiction

  13. I remember praying behind him for jummah salat when he came to mark the opening of the London Muslim Centre back in 2004. It was like someone had put a CD on!
  14. what a strange party...middle aged women smiling, young children looking bored (one even leaves probably to seek entertainment elsewhere) whilst shameless teenagers bumb and grind in full view of all. ewwwww. They obviously couldn't see how awful it looked, so one of their dear friends uploaded it for them (and the world) to see. Brings to mind the hadith of (saw) "If you have no shame, do as you please"
