The interim Chairperson congratulated the Somali people for the selection of new parliament and the end of the transitional government. The parliamentary committee will work every day from 9 am to 3 pm. Gen Muse Sh. Hassan Abdulle, interim chairperson of the new Somali parliament detailed the process for the election of new Speaker and said that all candidates will participate in the first round of voting, while the four candidates who get the highest votes will participate in the second round, followed by final round in which the two candidates of highest votes will participate. The winner of the last two candidates will be the new Speaker. Today August 20, 2011 marks the end of the mandate of the transitional federal government while the newly established permanent parliament will elect new speaker and new president who will appoint a new prime minister for the formation of new cabinet.
