Not really! Your actual grandfather debased himself by being a party to the most treacherous moment in Somali history. Mine did not. He actually fought colonizers. And it makes sense that you hide behind a clan glory and try to conflate your family history with clan, because your own family history is one of ******. So bow.

Only you seem to take pride in bowing before queen but then you had a treacherous grandfather.

Prime Minister Hailermariam Desalegn Resigns

Observer, Most Somalis would be okay with orderly balkanization of Ethiopia but I would hate to say a violent end with millions displaced or killed. It will be bad for the continent and worse for the Horn. -

STRIKES SPREAD IN RESTIVE ETHIOPIA REGION BEFORE TILLERSON VISIT Strikes protesting Ethiopia’s state of emergency spread across the restive Oromia region ahead of U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s arrival for talks with the Horn of Africa nation’s embattled government. The closing of shops and roads by members of Ethiopia’s largest ethnic group is the latest sign of discontent in Oromia state, where unrest has prompted the country’s second state of emergency in two years. Tillerson is due in Ethiopia this week as part of his first government visit to sub-Saharan Africa, less than a month after Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn resigned. -

Influence in America is at the local level meaning it depends how well organized local constituents are. A well organized Cuban expats played pivotal role in how America dealt with Cuba. That's because if you need to win Florida where majority of Cuban-Americans live, you need their vote. Jews in America are very well organized, wealthy and vote as a block, No Arab from the Gulf no matter how wealthy can match their influence. -

The man white men [USA/Western Europe] are not poor and corrupt. It is Bedouins that don't understand politics. If you want to influence American politics, study AIPAC or NRA. Money comes and goes. -

Turks are smart. They are not settling in the country but they are shaping the minds of the next generation of Somalis. They are building another base and started investing the economic aspect, dams for Shabelle. Things are mutually beneficial at-least for now. The problem is Somalis have no policy in place that will take advantage of that, amateurish politicians/ Other countries come and go, bribe their way but Turks are pacing themselves. -
Exactly! They might as well let every sub-clan have their own party.

Berbera clan rejects oil search in its region until the clan is consulted

I have think they have outlived their purpose just like nomadic life is no longer useful existence. And I am sure some are sincere people but more often than not, they are someone else's tools. -

Holac, Unukaa leh can't coexist with statehood. Besides, I don't think these old men care much for their clan, they need a cut. -

Mueller's Focus on Advisor to U.A.E Indicates Broader Inquiry
Che -Guevara replied to Tillamook's topic in Politics
The extent and speed with which Mueller probe is moving amazingly fast. He is meticulous investigator with very specialized competent team. Even the republicans are giving up on undermining him because the nose is tightening. I do think individuals with direct connections to Emirates will be caught up. Every step that they have taken so far is backfiring. It is almost like the Iranians and Turks might as well sit back and let these Arabs screwed up. From Qatar, Yemen to Sudan have failed. The Horn is the last place to counter the Turkish and Iranian influence. Gwadar Port also is becoming an issue for them. -
Below is a direct translation of Abadula’s speech: “Out of the members of parliament we have, eight are not available in their duty due to death and other reasons. The total number of members of parliament we have is therefore 539. Of these 539, according to the proclamation, two-third of it will be 339. The vote we have got in support of is 346; against is 88; and 7 have abstained.” Several media outlets have went on a frenzy of editing the original stories; they not only corrected the 346 by 395, but also added in the corrected version of their stories the number of attendees as 490. But this is problematic in two ways. One: It flies in the face of the figures announced by the speaker at the end of the vote: 346 for + 88 against + 7 abstain = 441. Two: It opened debate on the counter constitutional working bylaws of the parliament which says, according to evening bulletin of the state media ebc, two third of the parliamentarians in attendance, not the total number of parliamentarians. In this case, where did the number 490, which is quoted by local and international media, come from? Some have argued the speaker has mentioned the 490 attendees in his introduction remarks. If so, the media in attendance, the parliament itself and those who argued as such have the responsibility to present the evidence. Addis Standard was not invited to the event, as usual, but got this video submitted to it by a source who attended the session.
