Shirwac, I think you are right. The whole thing was to make sure Farmajo does not run again, though I have to say he didn't help the situation. If there is a silver lining, future leaders will have a hard time extending their mandates without an election. An attack on Rooble will split the opposition, not that they were going to agree on anything.

At this point, they have to or they will be shooting themselves on the foot.

I am for it if he is able to deliver for the Somali people. The next president needs to do four things in order to spare the people this headache. Complete the constitution, set up the constitutional court, free the south from Al-Shabab, and seek budgetary independence.

It doesn't matter. The responsibility still falls on Farmaajo since he's the head od the state.

Everyone will be under pressure. Farmaajo and his friends are better off sticking together. They can't trust an opposition that doesn't trust each other. There's already a wedge between Sharif and Hasan Sheekh.
