  1. Xoog There is no point in replying to someone who already had set his mind up about something. So in that regard, wixii aad isu madadaalisoba, ha kuu macaanaato, adeer.
  2. Cammi, Sxb, first of all, qofna kaa dawayn kari maayo hadaad Somaliland qabiil ku sheegtid. So, if that is how you interpreted what I wrote above, so be it. Somaliland hadii qabiil kali ah lagu sheego iyo hadii qabiiladdada wada dega lagu sheego, intaba sharaf iyo cisi ayay ku maalan oo dadka wada dega kula noolyihiin oo haday xukun noqoto iyo hadii ay wax kale noqotaba kula wadaagan.
  3. African Express Airways is owned by a Kenyan born family of Somaliland origin. The famous rer Bulxan family of Hargeisa. It was one of the first airlines to make flights to Somaliland when it declared its independence in early 1990s. Its good to see they also started flights to Mogadishu.

Xoogsade Are you sure you are not confusing this with "area codes"? I thought America's unique country code was the number #1+followed by area codes+telephone number... no?

Haddaba, wuxuu nuxurka kulankeenani yahay in aan idinku wargeliyo in hirgelinta mashruucan uu yahay go’aan dhab ah oo sabab loo hakiyaa aanay jirin, sababta oo ah gacan ku haynta isgaadhsiinta Somaliland iyo sare u qaadideeda iyo cashuurteeda dawladeed iyo arrimaha nabadgelyadaba, waxa u xilsaaran dawlada, madax banaanida shirkadaha iyo guud ahaan ganacsigeenuba waa madax banaan yahay, sida ku xusan dastuurkeena, taasna macnaheedu ma aha shirkad waliba iskeed ayay hawlaheeda u wadanaysaa, iyada oo aan kantarool iyo ilaalin dawladeed ka madax banaan. Waxa kale oo aan idinku baraarujinayaa in marxalada siyaasadeed iyo nabadgelyaba ee geeskan aynu ku nool nahay maanta marayso in dawlada Somaliland ka sii tashatay inay habeyso istaraatijiyada isgaadhsiinta dalka, isla markaana ay ka kaaftoonto lambarkii Somaliya ee 252, taas oo madaxbanaanideena ka dhinaa. Waxaan gabagabada idinku wargelinaynaa in dhamaan shirkadaha isgaadhsiinta Somaliland ee diwaan-gashani in kharashka isku xidhka ku samaysanayaan yahay bilaash, kaas oo wasaaradu xilqaaday iyo in waajibaadka wasaaradan u xilsaaran tahay, isla markaana ay wax ka qabatay yahay ka hawl-galka Fib Optic Cable-ka Badaha aduunka ku jira, kaas oo maal gelin lacageed u heshay oo badeena Red sea laga soo jiidayo 50km, gate-way-guna noqdo Berbera – Landing Pointâ€. Intaas ka dib wasiirka waxa la weydiiyey su’aalo ku saabsan arrimahaasi oo ku hadlay, su’aalahaasina waxay u dhaceen sidan: S: Waxaad sheegtay in aad shirkadaha ku war-geliseen dhismahan cusub ee wasaarada, muddana u qabateen inay ku hawl-galaan, mudadaasina waxaad sheegtay inay dhaaftay, markaa maxaad is leedahay way diidan yihiin ee baajiyey? J: Cabasho xaqdaro, hogo tusaalayn, hadii dad qaran ahaan wada shaqaynaayo waa laysula iman karaa oo cid kastaa xaq bay u leedahay inay cabato oo ay tidhaahdo waxaas iyo waxaas baanu ka cabanaynaa, waxaan ku cadaynayaa mudada lixda bilood ah ee aanu isdaba jiitamaynay waxa afti ah ama qoraal ah oo shirkad ka mid ah shirkadahaasi ay yidhaahdeen waxan ayaanu ka cabanaynaa ma jirto. S: Shirkadahan liisanka ganacsi dawlada ayaa siisay, markaa waa maxay farqiga idiin dhexeeya ee aad isu diidan tihiin? J: Farqi noo dhexeeyaa ma jiro, liiskana wasaaradii siisay ayaanu nahay, liiskankaasina waa sanad oo mid laba laalan ah maaha, markaa ma jiro farqi noo dhexeeyaa, waxaanan u aragnaa diidmo qayaxan oo ay kaga hor imanayaan awaamiirta. S: Wasiir waxaad sheegtay in aanay hirgelin shirkadahan war-gelin xagiina ka timid oo ah inay keenaan guddi farsamo, taasi markay dhaaftay wakhtigii aad u qabateena waxa kale oo aad sheegtay hadana in aad doraad u qorteen waraaq kale oo aad ku amraysaan inay laba cisho kaga soo jawaabaan ama ku keenaan guddidii farsamo, markaa hadii labadaasi cisho ay kaga soo jawaabi waayaan oo ay ku keeni waayaan waxyaabahaasi aad qorteen talaabada aad qaadaysaan waa maxay? J: Wali may dhamayn labadii cisho, laakiin hadii ay taasi timaado oo ay diidaan, dee shaqadayada ayaanu qabsanaynaa. S: Shirkadahani waxa la leeyahay waxay diidan yihiin shirkado gaar ah oo nin iska leeyahay ayaad hoos tegaysaan, laakiin maba diidana numberka cusub ee dalka loo sameeyey, markaa maxaa taas ka jira? J: Wax allaale wax ka jiraa ma jiro, shirkad wax maamulaysaana ma jirto, central station-kan aan sheegayaana wasaarada ayuu dhexyaalaa, markaa ma bahalkan wasaarada noo yaala ayay shirkadi macmalaysaa oo ay leedahay, maya ee dawlada ayaa iska leh, waana been wararkaasi. Intaa ka dib waxa Wasiirka Isgaadhsiintu kaxeeyey qaar ka tirsan weriyayaashii shirkaasi jaraa’id ka soo qayb galay, isaga oo soo tusay qalabka cusub ee ay wasaaradu ugu talo gashay isku xidhka shirkadaha Isgaadhsiinta Central Switch iyo furaha cusub ee loogu talo galay in lagu soo galo dalka National Gateway No. 292, kana bedelo furihii hore oo ahaa fure ka dhaxeeyey dalkii la isku odhan jiray Somalia, kaasi oo ahaa No 252. hase yeeshee, markii ay weriyayaashu tageen goobtii uu yaalay qalabkan Isgaadhsiintu ayaa waxa wax ka weydiiyeen mid ka mid farsamayaqaanadii ka shaqaynayey qalabka Isgaadhsiinta ee cusub, waxaanay weydiiyeen bal inuu hadda shaqaynaayo. Furahan cusub ee Somaliland 292. waxaanu ku jawaabay. “Haaâ€. Sidoo kale weriyayaal ka tirsan Haatuf ayaa ku hadlay khadkan cusub ee ay wasaaraddu hirgelinayso, waxaanay kula hadleen wadamo kala duwan, gaar ahaan wadamada Norway, Djibouti iyo meelo kale, waxaanay weriyayaashu sheegeen in meelihii ay la hadleen ay arkeen lambarka lagu soo baxay oo ah 292, isla markaana codkiisu tayo ahaan aad u heer sareeyo. Waxaanay weriyayaasha isticmaalay habkan cusub ee isgaadhsiintu hadleen in ku dhaw saacad, isla markaana intii ay hadlayeen wax cilad farsamo ah kalama ay kulmin.
  6. "Idamaale News " I think everyone (save Biixi et al) would agree that this website is the most pathetic one after allpuntland.com. Who ever is behind it, knows no shame.
  7. ^^ LOL He is still a MP, don't forget. Don't regard this as a change of heart from Qanyare, he is still the same man. Waxa isaga u daran waa Dayniile airport. The looser warlords have realised, despite their animosity for each other, that they can not do without each other at these tense of times. But I wonder if they will be able to pull anything from that old tired hat... cardkii waa ka gubtay, as far as Somalis go. Waxa meesha nafta ku sii wada haya (life support machine) waa Ethiopia...
  8. ^^Awoowe, the difference between Somaliland and Col. Yey is that, Somaliland is no guest to anyone when it comes to her "national interests". And that includes officialy opposing any country that violates the UN Embargo on weapons and the arrival of Foreign Troops into Somalia, which both include Ethiopia. But eventhough going to Khartoum was one of Col. Yey's plans what turned it upside-down was an 11th hour fax recieved from Addis with three words "I dare you!!". Now, you have to wonder, is he carrying out his own "interest" or the "national interests" of Meles? The ball is back to you awoowe... but don't kick that rock nearby. "Dagaal will kuma dhashee, wilil baa ku dhinta" Correct me if I am wrong, but the ICU has nothing against that. It is him that has no control over his interests.
  9. And Awoowe Baashi What will he say to the victorious ICU? Hand over your weapons or else? or else my master Meles told me he would come to crush you.
  10. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/5198338.stm Ethiopian troops on Somalia soil A column of Ethiopian trucks, more than 100-strong and including armoured cars, is reported to have crossed into neighbouring Somalia. A BBC reporter has seen Ethiopian troops in uniform in Baidoa, the base of the weak interim government. Ethiopia had warned it would crush the Islamists who had advanced to within 60km of Baidoa on Wednesday. But the Union of Islamic Courts (UIC) say they never intended to attack Baidoa and have pulled troops back. The UIC have rapidly expanded their control of southern Somalia since they took control of the capital, Mogadishu, but observers fear it is only a matter of time before the two sides clash. "We have no such military plan as claimed by the non-functioning government," the UIC's security head Sheikh Yusuf Mohamed Siad told the AFP news agency. "The prime minister's claims are a ploy to attract Ethiopian intervention."
  11. Waar Qudhacow ina adeer Waxa kan reer Daami isoo xasuusiyey ninkii reer berbera ee yidhi "Afka kama hadline meel kaloo huguntay weeyaane"... Waa halkii Ruwaayaddi Qabyo 2 ee Singub Marka Golaha la joogo "get outta way" ayaa la yidhaa.
  12. Nice read from the Amb. Shinn. This is an excerpt from Dr. Pham's testimony Full article can be found here --- Somaliland Somaliland, Embattled Beacon Amid the ruin of the former Somalia, the reemergence of the Republic of Somaliland in the northwest is a remarkable story. The former British Protectorate of Somaliland became independent in 1960 a full week before the Italian-administered UN Trust Territory of Somalia achieved its independence. The two sovereignties were joined in a union which ultimately could be described as a loveless match. With the collapse of the Somali state, the Somalilanders reasserted their independence and created a functional government, complete with all the accoutrements of modern statehood—including democratic elections, the parliamentary polls last year being observed, among others, by the International Republican Institute with funds from USAID—save, alas, international recognition. For all these reasons, I have no doubt that after they defeat or co-opt the interim socalled government in Baidoa, the Islamists will turn their attentions on the democratically-elected constitutional government in Hargeysa. I would also add that, although a full discussion of the case of Somaliland is beyond the scope of the present hearing, neither is it divorced from it. Surely if our national commitment to support and strengthen democracy as a bulwark against extremist ideologies and terrorist violence has any real-world application, it is certainly the case here. As I have argued previously, “the people of Somaliland have made their choice for political independence and democratic progress. While they have stumbled occasionally along the way, their efforts deserve encouragement through the appropriate economic, political, and security cooperation – which, in turn, will anchor Somaliland within America's orbit as well as international society. As a beginning, a few modest steps would go a long way towards engaging Somalilanders, including a minimal consular presence in Hargeysa and some security cooperation through U.S. Central Command’s Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, based at Camp Lemonier in nearby Djibouti.â€
  13. ^^ Awoowe don't get ahead of yourself... talo weeyan. LOL @ Puntland greener... good for you sxb. Enjoy it. Duke My old pal, me putting on a brave face? LOL LOL Sxb its old news that the locals change sides every now and then, but what was news to everyone was the two naive or rather foolish men that misguidedly thought they would sell an SL Army Vehicle to the enemy. What lured them, is said, was some connections they had with some locals who told them that Puntland was buying Tikono due to the Islamic Courts successes earlier in last month. Anyways, I am sure they realise now of what they had done and how foolish they were. I can only imagine how much they are regretting of their shameful actions.
  14. The majority of the defected soldiers are from Hargeisa, Burca and some pockets from Sool region LOL You wished. Sxb, there were only two men from that said city and these two men are today regretting of what they done. They thought they would sell one of the armed vehicles to Puntland melitias but that wasn't the case, the vehicle was confescated by the melitias and the two men are left stranded in nomansland. Anyways, the locals were known to defect to either side of the devide every now and then, what makes it different this time? Wasn't it just 2 months ago when 3 armed vehicles with 9 men defected to Somaliland side? You are talking about mere soldiers, but we have seen even Puntland ministers defect into Somaliland. This is old news.
  15. Gudaafad xashiish foqal gudaadaf xashiish. You and that vomit belong to the landfill.
  16. That said though, when all is fine, to divide Muslims even more is wrong- we all as Muslims know that. However, it is not for any of us to force others. ^^ LOL @"When all is fine..." Well, when all is well my dear Rahima, then I would suppose everyone would be happy with what they have and none would be predisposed in harming that utopia, wouldn't you say sis? B/c if there are those that are not happy with the way things are, then obviously things are not all well. Just speaking hypothetically Anyways, sis, I do not think raising religious sentiments is a wise thing to do in regards to Somaliland's issue. Nonetheless, I find it insulting to the people of Somaliland when someone (usually from non Somaliland background) raises this religious cloak. Are they implying that we are less religious? Are they saying that we are led astray and we need to be brought back to the right path? absurd as it may be, that is how it sounds like. The irony to this that, it comes mostly from Siyad Barre's remnants (and it is not you that I am refering to...). Cajiib.
  17. ^^ Daami Boy Marka maalinba magac ama nickname kale meesha lala yimaado, it becomes useless sxb. I wonder what happen to Nayruus and the villager from Baffoonville and the other numerous folks that were obsessed with Somaliland.
  18. ^^You seem to be handling the folks quite well... but I just want to make a little correction here "PL and Hiraan have chosen to be part of the mess by choosing to stay with Somalia. They unlike SL, cannot sit back and say well my region is peaceful and prospering so to heck with the rest. Unfortunately for them, with the union comes the responsibility of cleaning the rest. And I don’t suggest anything, but I wouldn’t be bothered too much by it, it would just be icing on the decadent cake of the Horn " Your assertion here that Somaliland declared indepedence when the South descended into anarchy is wrong. At the time that Somaliland declared its independence, Mogadishu was quite peaceful (compared to what it is today). There were no warlordism, and no checkpoints and the city was built and not destroyed, although there was a political stand-off between two sides at that time. In those days, Somaliland was in rubbles, its cities were destroyed, freelance melitias ruled the streets and main roads... So regardless of whatever the political events that unfolded in Mogadishu in the subsequent years turned out to be, Somaliland's declaration had nothing to do with it and the two are not connected in any shape or form.
  19. South Africa says Somaliland's issue should be treated differently AwdalNews.com ANN, 4 July 2006 South African Deputy Foreign Minister Aziz Pahad re-iterated that the case of Somaliland was special and not one secession. He made the remarks during Pahad's breifing of the press on South Africa's foreign policy. Answering a question on South Africa's position on the recognition of Somaliland, During a press briefing on South Africa's foreign policy, Pahad, who is a close ally of President Mbeki, said that the African Union's mission to Somaliland in 2005 recommended that Somaliland's should be treated differently to other situations of cessation. Question: Deputy Minister Pahad, what is the South African government's position on the recognition of the government of Somaliland? Will you recognise it? Are you in negotiations with them? Answer: The African Union sent a high level team to Somaliland to assess the situation. Their report indicated that Somaliland should be treated differently to other situations of cessation. This report is now being discussed by other countries to determine how to proceed on the matter. It is important to note however that the recognition of Somalialnd is one part of a bigger situation with regard to Somalia. South Africa Depart of Foreign Affairs
  20. Wacaddaraha "One of the most important things you learn in politics is that one certain political point becomes baseless if it has to be defended all the times but when facing the reality of no recognition for more then 10 years" Sxb if you compare to how long other countries waited for their eventual recognition, 10 years will seem very short time. East Timor for instance was fighting for its independence for almost 25 years, Eritrea for 30 years... South Sudan still for over 20 years... hmmmm Besides, we have not wasted anything during that period, if anything, it thought us how to be more self reliant and help-ourselves instead of waiting for out siders to help us. All we want today is for the world to recognise what we achieved for ourselves. It is no easy job my dear friend, special when the country which with you had a union with is in such shambles. But sxb, make no mistake, we will eventually get there. MMA Cammi, basalsha fad ama ha fadin, that is upto you. But fadlan marka aad cuntid, dadka kale ixtiraam. As for Jaad, I reckon you should put that to Sheekh Sherif Adan. He was a dealer himself and enjoys a position with which he could do something about it, at least in your neck of the woods.
  21. So, it came down to a showdown between Somaliland and the incompentent Waxmatarayaal (Good for Nothing) League. Kob cagaarleh inaanay waligood ka soo durdurineyn waxaad ku garataa, at a time when the Palestenian People are under total military siege in the Gaza-strip, the Waxmatarayaal, for all their diplomatic prowess was used to deny Somaliland from participating in the African Union. Inspite of a clear hostile position taken by the onion-breathed Egyptians, yet Somaliland pressed on. But, a very last minute desperation, fearing that Somaliand was going to partcipate despite all their diplomatic efforts, they came up with the oldest and most-lame trick in the diplomatic books - asking the dictator of the Sudan to threaten that they will walk-out unless Somaliland was denied access to the AU. What a shame!!! Somaliland made new friends in the process and some clearly sided with Somaliland against this Onion Breathed onslaught. We thank all those countries that clearly supported Somaliland's cause. This is only the start...
  22. 26ka June waa maalin taariikhi ah. Its a great day in our history. It marks the day we earned our hard won independence. The great jubilation in Hargeisa's freedom garden will never be forgotten by those who witnessed it. But what saddens many of the post independence generation specially the younger ones is the fact that after 46 years we had to once again be fighting for our soveriegnty and statehood. However bitterness we feel about the ease with which we volunteerly lost our old soveriegnty, still we do not forget the fact that it was done will good heart and intentions. But As Hadraawi said, sida loogu Dabar go'ay Dadnimo ayaa ka Dhalatay. We can be proud today that we know what being a Somaliland nationalist is all about. And that is a good thing. This is a song written, composed and sang on the eve of independence in Beerta Xorriyadda. Enjoy it. Hees
