  10. lol stop talking crazy. One shisha head = roughly a pack of cigarettes. While I agree it's very unhealthy, you don't smoke it all the time (unless you're an old dude ) and I find it hard to believe it would lead to drug consumption. It's just flavored tobacco.

Also there has been figghting and the reason why things are quite is because the Sharif controls no region at all. All the surrounding areas are independent of him. Inlcuding Marka, Badoa, Kismayu. Yeah, but you have to recognize it's admirable he didn't go to war with these regions he doesn't control. Unlike others before him, he never said "let's crush the rebels" and I think that is a good sign.
  12. You had to be really naive to think everything was going to turn to gold once Shariif became president. He's only human and a politician, and Somalia needs time. Lots of time and attention, before it can flourish again. You need to differentiate between someone's faults and that person as a whole. As a whole, Shariif is the best president in a long time, and should he fall there won't be anyone like him for another very long time.
  13. It reeks of hypocrisy to bash AMISOM for "illicit love affairs with Somali women", when young Somali kids with guns have been raping girls for twenty years, in a climate of "I can do whatever I want because no one is going to punish me." Let's get real here. I want AMISOM to leave as much as everyone else, so that they may be no more contentious issues, but there's ALWAYS going to be another contentious issue. It's just the way it is. Today it's AMISOM, tomorrow it's the sea. The day after that, who knows? Attempting to put Somalia's problems on the back of AU troops is the ultimate hypocrisy. Because the war is a Somali problem that began in Somalia, and until the true issues dividing Somalis are addressed, we'll be looking for shallow excuses like AMISOM or selling the sea to Kenya. Also, to Shariif's credit, there hasn't been a mass insurrection since he became President. The fighting has been sporadic at best, and I think that speaks volumes on his potential as leader.
  14. I say this as a supporter of the old ICU and of Shabaab during the war against Ethiopia. I'm tired of AMISOM troops being used as an excuse to not negotiate. While I agree that some of those soldiers fired mortar rounds and killed innocent civilians, that doesn't mean the country has to burn down for it. They're not actually occupying anything, they have very little control over anything, they're just there. AU troops are just there and that's it. Also, the actions of these poor hungry soldiers from the Great Lakes region pale in comparison to the fratricide atrocities Somalis have been committing amongst themselves for almost two decades soon. Certain individuals are using AU troops as an excuse to destroy some more, because it's easier that way. What's easier? Taking a step back, looking at the smouldering pile of ruins your cousins have added to over 19 years, and picking up a shovel and a hammer? Or picking up some more grenades and a rifle and keep on shooting things until everything goes to hell? It's a lot easier to destroy than to build. These individuals are afraid of success and history will prove them wrong. Because despite the lies, despite the propaganda, despite "Seagate", despite the accusations of being stooges, despite the individuals who are scared of success, the Shariif government is still there. It's the best government in ages and it's here to stay. Shabaab isn't fighting against it. You honestly think that Shabaab couldn't knock Shariif down if they really wanted to? Please! The truth is that Somalia has entered into a new era, an era unique in its potential and hopes. The transition is a bit rough here and there, but that's where we're headed. And those success hating, self-destructive individuals have to get with the new scheme.
  15. I really wouldn't bet on it. There isn't one AU soldier/officer in the world who actually WANTS to go to Somalia. Also, Nigeria has enough on its plate to worry about other countries. I'm actually quite surprised that the Ugandan and Burundian soldiers in moqdishu haven't mutinied yet. I'm sure they'd like to go home.
  16. I don't like overzealous people, especially those who try to convert others.

I've seen many posts and comments trying to belittle this concern and justifying the contradiction in opposing A/Y and now supporting sharif ... with arguments like .. AMISOM only kills a fraction of the innocent civilians the xabash killed. case in point : You want AMISOM to leave we get that much. But apart from that, maxaad rabtaan? do you see anything wrong with your opening line here North ? Why is the presence of foreign troops suddenly inconsequential ? ... isn't there mere presence on somali soil at the behest of sharif not grounds enough for supporting any resistance to this government ? as an Al-shabaab supporter I believe we have been very consistent in support and/or opposition to this and the previous sham of a government. I am curious what has caused the change in yours yaa North ? [/QB] As a supporter of both Ash-Shabaab and Shariif, I'm telling you you can't be against all foreign mercenaries because Shabaab has plenty of them.
  18. Kids do things waaaaaaaaaaaaay worse than shisha these days. Shisha isn't healthy, but there's a lot of unhealthy things in life.
  19. man there's a lot of propaganda out there to discredit the government...
  20. They want some positions in the government, and they should get them.
