Geel-Jire. Somalia has not been invaded by anyone. Only an ignorant with real trouble comprehending current events could say such a thing. Somalia has a recognized government, recognized by the international community as a whole and who’s agenda has been endorsed by the security council of the United nations. The TFG requested assistance from its neighbors through IGAD & the AU. Kenya gave diplomatic assistance, Yemen provided military assistance as well as diplomatic and Ethiopia gave to the TFG the necessary hardware and knows how to prosecute what has now become known as the “minute war”. Uganda is the vanguard of the AU forces that will help stabilize the situation while the TFG troops are undergoing their training. This is a comprehensive plan to root out the clan militias & shady business organizations which have profited from the prolonged war years. It’s an international effort with the US, EU and AU taking acentral role in supporting the government & people of Somalia. Of course the opposition groups are bewildered, confused, dazed and dumbfounded at the success of the TFG strategy, tactics and the holistic approach it has taken. They are devoid of support, suffocating in Asmara and in the coffee houses of London, Minneapolis & Toronto. They ask how A/Yusuf has pulled this off. If one asks me I would simply reply. The old man has done his home work.

Envoy asks Somalis to return Ambassador says diaspora's expertise `more precious than money' in rebuilding country battered by violence since 1991 Mar 19, 2007 04:30 AM Surya Bhattacharya STAFF REPORTER A top Somali envoy says his war-ravaged country needs more than just international funds to rebuild – it needs its people back. Abdikarin Farah, Somalia's ambassador to the African Union and Ethiopia, is urging the diaspora to return and contribute funds and skills to rebuild basic public institutions like the courts, hospitals and transportation infrastructure. "We are encouraging them to come back to Somalia," Farah said yesterday after meeting with leaders from Somalia's Toronto community. "We want them to give us their thoughts. Their expertise is more precious than money itself." About 150,000 Somalis have settled in Canada since civil war broke out in 1991, and an estimated 100,000 make their home in the GTA, according to the Somali-Canadian National Congress. The most recent figures available from Statistics Canada, however, state there were about 34,000 Somalis living in Canada in 2001. Although Canada supports humanitarian efforts in Somalia, Farah would like to see more direct monetary support that will help the government rebuild basic infrastructure in the country. "We appreciate the Canadian government and their people for the kindness they have shown our people during the last 16 years, when we really needed them," said Farah. "When most of the world was rejecting our people, they opened their doors to us. "Today those refugees have turned out to be the most precious members of our diaspora." Farah, who represents Somalia's fragile Transitional Federal Government, will meet with Foreign Affairs Minister Peter MacKay today to drum up financial support for reconstruction efforts and request the appointment of an envoy to the East African country. Although recognized by international bodies like the United Nations, the new government struggles to bring peace and stability to even the capital city. "There is not one building in Mogadishu that is not partly destroyed by war," Farah said. About 400 Ugandan soldiers – part of a larger body of African Union peacekeeping troops – arrived earlier this month to protect the government. The peacekeepers will also allow for the withdrawal of Ethiopian troops, which helped the administration topple a radical Islamic militia that recently controlled much of southern Somalia for six months. Farah said judicial and law enforcement support is needed from Ottawa, so that the fledgling government in Mogadishu can model its institutions after Canada's systems. With the Peace Reconciliation Conference scheduled for mid-April in Mogadishu, Farah is redoubling his efforts to speak with members of Somalia's various diasporas that have settled in countries such as the United States, Britain and Canada. Farah, 37, was part of that exodus. Forced to leave Somalia at 16, he moved to Britain to complete his undergraduate and graduate programs in politics. The conference is expected to draw members of the diaspora, and "anybody who feels they're outside the TFG or the tribes. Once and for all, we would like to wrap it all up," he said. Long-term rebuilding efforts are estimated to be in the "trillions," he said. Farah hopes Somalia will be able to profit from world trade through its 3,350-kilometre-long coastline that will link China, India and the Middle East to the West. As well, he says the country has rich oil and uranium deposits to help its economic recovery.

Xiin, you do try and I for one respect that. Though, your whole argument above is nothing more than highlighting a universal truth that youth tend to be motivated and are full of courage and want of adventure. The point of the thread and one which you intentionally ignore was how the energy, courage of these youths was misused, how they were lied to and led into danger. While their commanders, leaders and those who took them from their homes only cared selfishly for their own safety. To me this was a great injustice and the sacrifice was done by the young, confused and at times innocent. While, the leaders those corrupt, ignorant deceitful cowards ran for cover and with them the lie that was the clan courts. Though you try irreparable damage has been done to this fake movement. As many have shown the popularity of the clan courts was only a fad and one which was built on a perceived invincibility which in fact was a key factor in their eventual demise. One can see this by their weakness in Mogadishu at the present time and how the supposed religious movement has morphed into a confused and amateurish mortar fire that only does damage to the populace. While their only real weapon is sub-sub-clan gatherings voicing anger at being left out of the TFG armed forces and so on. Xiin feeble words aside you seem more delusional than usual, and while you try and try you are not making any impact other than to your clan courts crowed who are becoming ever more passive.

^^^Dont tell me about my adopted homeland dear, I know all about that. In Somaliland & Puntland the elders played a key role in the devlopment of both states as well as sustaining peace and worked hard at ending all sorts of clan & political hostilities. That is a fact. We would have had a much worse situations without their efforts.

Conclusion; Its the responsibility of the commanders to safeguard their soldiers lives.Sending mere boys to the front with nothing but jamming AK's in my book is not bravery but foolishness and no army marches out to die but to win so again, the lack of brains and its magnitude is very evident. If one extends this, soem ehere blame those who were attacked. When these people were marching chidlren into war and parading women wtih AK-47s it was all fun. Now they cry why did we lose
-
^^^You need something stronger to wake you up dear lad. The Ugas can say what ever he wants, if he Culusow, Abdiqasin & Galaal could not stop their boys, then the TFG will have to. Hiding behind smoke screens will not do saxib. Oh President Yusuf, PM Geedi & the speaker Adan Madobe are all in Mogadishu. He eve met this same clan a few days back..

^^^Ok so in the 21s century the royal familes of Europe are dead? Or those in the Arab World, Malaysia and many other parts of the world. This is tradition and part of our culture why eradicate it? These elders play a good role in our society, why play it down?
