  1. ^ Call it a flip flop or whatever. But the ICU were not a islamic movement no more. The likes of Aweys, Indhacadde, Ceyroow, Seeraar, Goobaanle, Deylaaf, Dhuxuloow, Salad etc didn't represent an islamic movement encompassing all parts of Somalia. They were a clan movement. I am ashamed that a movement which had genuine sheiks like Shariif and Cadoow were hijacked by Tuugs, Wardens, Dhiigyacab, etc You don't even know my clan so how can you state anything ya Caano boore drinking brother?

  3. me Have it your way. But I advise you when you go back to Somalia to fight for your 'freedom', remember to have us all in your mind.
  4. Originally posted by Brown: So what do you call MUSLIMS who were/are opposed to an islamic movement? I once upon a time supported the kicking out of the warlords. Many did. However their unwillingness to for discussion and their dhuul balaarsaan ways and their attempt to bring peaceful areas Puntland, the seccessionist etc under their control by the gun and having a tuug turned sheik as security minister showed that it was a hijacked islamic movement to serve the interest of a sub sub clan.
  5. I ask again how can an Atheist/Agnostic want the ICU a islamic movement? Only tolnimo can make a gaal fight for islam or under it. The TFG will work for the interest of their citizens. Ofcourse they are looking for peace among their citizens. What actions they shall take are bringing about a peace force in Xamar to protect the interest of the civilians, dialogue with clan elders and religious leaders like Imaam Cumar etc
  6. Caano Stale Ofcourse they are casualties of war. But don't you think this 'insurgency' which seems to only hide behind civilians and is only killing civilians is going to gain more support or less from these actions?
  7. Me Which somali people don't support it? The people of Bay and Bakool support the dawlad and are the ones hosting the government in Baidoa The people of Hiraan were happy to see the ICU gone, In Puntland they support the government, In jubbaland there were no demonstrations happening against the government but there was some against the ICU, In shabellaha hoose they welcomed the dawlad in Afgoye and kicked out indhacadde and his tuugs, In Shabellaha dheexe the people welcomed Mahamed dheere. In the North of Xamar they welcomed the dawlad and still support it. A few remnants of Aweys and co in the south of Xamar are only obstacle of peace. ONe way or another they will be stopped inshallah.
  8. ^ They were invited by the internationally recognized government. From the President to the Prime Minister to the Defense Minister they all are in agreement that the ICU were aggressors and they got the assistance from their neighbours in Kenya, Ethiopia etc Me is it okay to kill civilians when you can't kill the somali forces?
  9. ^ From judging your previous post you are a secularist. An Atheist/Agnostic am I correct in my assumption? Why are you advocating for THE ICU when you would get skinned in Xamar? I can see other Somali Muslims advocating for the ICU but you? The only excuse is Tolnimo.
  10. Mashallah. Its great to see such a wide variety of Muslims from All backgrounds.
  11. They think this is Iraq. Sunn/Shia vying for power. But we are ALL SOMALIS. So I don't see the purpose of this insurgency.
  12. U.S. ready to fund fast AU force for Somalia 24 Jan 2007 Source: Reuters Somalia troubles More By Mark John BRUSSELS, Jan 24 (Reuters) - The United States is ready to offer more funds to help African Union troops deploy quickly to Somalia as Ethiopian forces wind down their presence there, a U.S. official said on Wednesday. U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary on Africa James Swan called on other international bodies to provide urgent financial and logistical support to the AU as it struggles to raise a force of about 8,000 peacekeepers for the Horn of Africa country. Swan said he had no information on a Washington Post report of a second U.S. strike against suspected al Qaeda operatives in southern Somalia on Monday and said U.S. policy was to support AU-led efforts to guarantee security. "We are eager to see a rapid movement to deployment of the AU peace support operation," Swan said in an interview in Brussels with Reuters and a European weekly magazine after talks with EU officials on the conflict. "To that end we have identified funding that could be made available to fund (air) lift and equipment initially for the Ugandans but that could also be available to other troop contributors later," he added. Such funding would be in addition to the $14 million already earmarked by the United States for the AU force in a wider $40.5 million package announced earlier this month. Somali government and Ethiopian troops defeated Islamist forces last month, but the Islamists have vowed to hit back and have attacked government and Ethiopian troops in the capital Mogadishu. With troop commitments only beginning to come in from AU countries, there are concerns the AU will not be ready to fully replace an Ethiopian force which started withdrawing from Mogadishu this week. Swan said Ethiopia was aware of the importance of not leaving a security vacuum by withdrawing too quickly. "Based on frequent consultations with the Ethiopians we think they are acutely aware of the balance between limiting the amount of time they remain in Somalia ... but also the need to continue to provide security at least on an interim basis." EU Aid Commissioner Louis Michel said this week further EU aid for the AU force would depend on its interim government reaching out to moderate Islamists and others in the quest for peace, a condition which angered some Somali officials. While Swan said Washington sought to encourage "inclusiveness" in reaching a political solution to the conflict, he did not make it a condition for U.S. help. "We would also hope that not only ourselves but that also other partners would provide additional assistance to the AU as it may request it," he said.

  15. Originally posted by mystic: ^^^ Sxb, you don’t know what makes me pessimistic or what makes me optimistic, so easy with your silly assumptions. You will not easily make falsified observations about my feelings to praise the Goat Doc. I am the slightest bit optimistic about anything the TFG does or says. Nevertheless I try to remain optimistic about my country. All the ICU members could come to Mogadishu and if Gedi arrests them or declines to negotiate with them then the notion of a peaceful Somalia will perish right there, right then. Sheikh Sheriff will not just abandon the other ICU members. He will make sure that his party gets the consideration they deserve. Besides you are underestimating Sheikh Sheriff, which will be a huge mistake on your behalf. And one more thing, he has welcomed Aweys, Indha-Cadde and Co when he said he wants ALL OFFICIALS of the ICU to come to Mogadishu. So define what you meaning by "welcome". Because Gedi wants them all to come to Mogadishu so they could converse. "We want all UIC officials and supporters including Sheiikh Sharrif to come to Mogadishu for the talks in Somalia," he said. The word “ALL” is very essential. I gave you the benefit of the doubt, but I am getting the feeling that you do indeed lack reading comprehension. If you believe everything you read and hear from politicians, then you'll come to realize that taking everything literal is to your detriment and your health. The ICU as a whole is done. Never will you see Aweys, Ceyroow and Co welcomed by a government. If you choose to take literal what Geedi says then so be it. TIME WILL TELL. Surely I WILL REMIND YOU OF THIS POST WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT.
  16. Dabshid 80% Gaal have no say in the adhan on MUSLIM SOIL. That is crazy. they should go back to where they came from if they feel the adhan is a nuisance to there lives.
  17. ^ If you see Dahir aweys and Aden Hashi Ceyroow and Yusuf siyad welcomed or better yet just ONE of them welcomed I will become an ICU supporter ! OK? his statement is to put down fears of his supposed north Xamar subjugation on the south of it. Do you understand? Politics is free weilding. his statements are a already making you optimistic. Which shows that Geedi is learning politics very well.

Quite possibly tommorows Somalia could be one in which we are sending peace-keeping troops to prevent the OLF and ONLF from killing off the smaller Tigrey

  20. The day a black president of the United States is allowed is the day a Muslim man becomes Secretary of State. Basically never. Barack is just a media tool to give increased attention to America's 'welcoming assimalation'. Otherwise Hillary is more likely a better candidate.
  21. ^ Reading is fundamental. I agree. But you've got to look further in his statement. Saying one thing and following it accordingly are two different animals. up untill the 11th hour the American government said it was not going to attack Iraq or it was not targeting terrorist hideouts in the South of Somalia, but we all know the aftermath. I can gurantee you 100% Sheik Shariif and Sheik Cadoow are the only ones being welcomed. Remember 'moderates' is the stance of the international community. You can hardly think a man on the US terror watch list like Aweys, Ceyroow etc would be welcomed openly LOOOOL. If you think otherwise then your up for a good smelling of the proverbial coffee.
