  5. OG-girl, to read and write somali, you dont have to be born in somalia. Myself, I wasn't born in somalia and I have never been to a class room and say Baa-Taa-Jaa-Xaa (see i dont even know the somal Alpha but still can write somali)..... but just learned on my owne. Actually, its very easy to learn, a cake walk! So dear, make some efforts to perfect ur somali writing/reading skills, who knows, u might need it when u go to QARI Jiqood as they say "kulu shay yarji3 ilaa aslih". Sadaqal-Allah Al-Athiim. How about a head start? somali 101, Lesson 1: 1. Agga 2. Awoowgaa lajanee 3. Eegga 4. Kabtan kabteedii yaa kabtan ka qaadey oo kabtaa dhiggay We'll continue form there when u master these^^^^.
  6. By Shyhem: 11:00 called about 5 different collecting agencies to make sure they recieved Affidavit of Forgery i sent them(Some somali dudes stole my checkbook a month ago) and now i have to call every tom and jack to make sure that this matter is handled in the right way by both the police and the bank and ofcourse i'm giving the urgency it deserves. Hey, this is exactely what happened to my roomate   Everyday he spends hours talking to the police and Banks over this matter now they have some suspects but their pictures weren't clear so he could not recognized them. When this happened, first I thought this somali guy who we had fight with earlier was trying to revenge and I was hoping we can identify him and put his aass in jail but the pictures weren't clear!!
  7. Don't tell me you don't know that is "a new somali pick-up line" Girl, where have you been living? because in mpls, filinka dhanba intaa lagga bilabaa. You talking about a city(very big), i get this q, aboowe, buildingka miyaad dagan tahay? and i go like, maya abaayo e matiro koob baa socda ood qaadaysaa? Guess what, I have been living there for the last 4 yrs and I still get that kind of question. weird wallaahi    isn't?
  8. Tamina, yes, I should 've told the Nomads about the Islamic gethering! Cafwan dhamaantiin, Khayrka inaan idinka qarsado uguma talogalin balsi saas bay hada u egtahay! Tamina, there were no muslim sisters at the conference this year due to some limitations. There were about 2,000 brothers and I would expect the same number of muslim sisters had then been accomodated but the Masjid is just too small for such a number but Insha-Allah, its the intention of the Mgmt to accomodate for the sisters from next year. This is an Annual Muslim Conference so lets ask Allah inaan nolool, caafimaad, iyo caqiido fiican nagu gaarsiiyo the next gethering. Aaaamiin Btw, there were more than 50 somali brothers at the meeting and I was very delighted to see them most of them from minneapolis---Did you know some somalis thought and still think that Tabliiq is Bidcah? Allahu Akbar!! No wonder you will see places like Cedar Tower in minneapolis is surrounding by Mosques at the same time, Drunkards somalis are roaming around and sitting at each entrance calling names hooyoyinka iyo gabdhaha, or anyone for that matter and Sheikh Hebel Xaaji iyo aniguba are passing-by afer every sallah turning a black eye to them! Cajaaib. Iga raali noqda topiga waa kabaxaye. Back to the topic: "She was then recently converted and was heading to Chicago to be with her arranged husband who she's never seen"- Guess what, the brother I mentioned in my post is married to a somali sister and his white muslim friend also is married to his wife's sister and both had semi-arranged marriage. Not to mention how happy they are and much (sisters) changed and got closer to Allah. "Latiif, he was white? I didn't know they converted whites" The way he embraced Islam is that his roomate was a Black muslim (member of Nation of Islam) and this brother saw some of Islamic lectures the black brother attended. He watched and listened to those and he got interested what he heard about Islam and from there, he did his own reseach on Islam and later, asked the black muslim brother to take him to the mosque. "Btw, isn't amazing meeting and conversing with converts" For the last few months, I've a contact with, close to 10 converts and found out its just so intersting and execiting to talk with them. Some of them are so knowledgeable about Islam and so passionate about the Deen. For the few days I stayed there, We used to sit in groups, read Qur'an and listen to each other (its just so soothing and relaxing to have someone read Qur'an on you), Anigaaba is nacay markaan arkay seday Quraanka u yaqaanaan. I wasn't envying them or anything but it just definitely made think about the way I live and how much I need to change. At least reading Qur'an couple times a month. It was a good experience!!
  9. I found concentrating on the meaning of what I'm reading is kind of helpful. Whatever you read, read slowly and pay attention to the Qira'ada iyo macnahooda.
  10. i have done so many tijaabooyin on ladies, ilaahoow inkaartooda iga leexi, cilmi kororsi unbay iga aheed, i have even done at least 12 tijaabooyin to my lady friend(my lover),macsalaamo Waraa nuune, waxaas xaq maaha sxb! Xaquqda bila aadmiga meel hawga dicin sxb //you should test your theories with either jiir/dooli or daanyeer before you try on ppl// Just wait until Og-motic(human right advocate on SOL) sees your topic and you toast.
  11. lol@rudy!!you cracked up wallaahi. Nin yaaban, I was hoping you could teach us the so-called DHAQAAN you been obsessed with, and now u turning around and asking some idiotic question? what a disappoinment. I knew you you were fake and pls remove that picture of your awoowe!!

    Abortion?

Not to mention that the Somali elders were told numerous times to warn the somalis in the twin cities about the danger of AIDS because the # of somalis who tested positive was raising so fast!!The first time this happened was back in '98 and what do you think by this time?
  13. My candidates: Baashi and Nur Waynakass! Nabadeey
  14. Hadal lee maa wadaynaa? First thing first guys. lets discuss that when have a peaceful country. Wadanba mahaysiine maxaad caasimad kahadashiin or its just for the sake of talking?

    Missing !!

Who 've seen Lady_Husla lately? Gun forever!!
  18. This is an individual basis case. There is nothing like women cheat more than men or vice verse but its just a learned behavior and the less Iman you have in your heart the more likely you will cheat granted the chance. I believe Iman is what makes one stop and think about the consequences of their actions!! Remeber, qofka muslimka ah Iimaanka waa lagga saaraa markuu falalka xun samaynayo!! For a moment, lets assume men are indeed born cheaters. Isn't that makes women born cheaters too? Women were created from mens'ribs!! I think we should be compensated for our ribs. Its really past due
  19. Because that was the only way she could get away from the "chicken killer" you know who I'm talking about right? no names pls!!!
  20. Naziha, sorry sister, I should have explained the topic more, I just assumed its a well know group but thanks for the repply thou. Dear Dharbaaxo(kuma darikaro inta kale eh, for the love of Allah, change your user name, just a brotherly advice. Waligaana ha isku shabihin Jin iyo wax lamid ah!!! Back to the topic, thanks for the recap on the history of the group. You mentioned that Farakhan now preaches the right Islam but the brother that I mentioned in my above post told me that they said that this group is only for black ppl and whites can not be members!! In fact, he recited me these hadiths which go like this"In Allah laa yanthuri ila ajsaami kum walaa kin yanthurin ilaa quluubi kum" and another hadith that I can not recalled fully but roughly translated it goes like this" An arab is not better than non-arab........". So brother, how could he(Farakhan) be preaching the right Islamic message if he beileves a white muslim can not join his group? The color of the individual has nothing to do with religion.
  21. "Since there are alot of somali women and men who are shamelessly dating and having sex outside of their race, there is something you should really consider before your wild side takes over." "So before dating or marying any women/men, make sure that they test themselves. Particularly if they were messing around with other races" Why do I have the feelings that you saying it is okay to mess around with somalis who are not getting it on with other races but still having sex outside of marriage? Catching these diseases has nothing to with which race you dating. The risk of getting it is always there regarless of your partner's race. Do you know how many somalis have these kind of diseases, for example, Minneapolis?
  22. Lol@ lakkad, sheeko cusub. Now should we call you abwaan hadraawi......I meant abwaan Lakkad or what? waraa chacchalaha iska dhaaf nooh hadii kale barina sheeko tan kadaran ayaa la imanaysaa!! Leave those geedaha alone son.
  23. I always wanted to learn martial art and 2 semester ago, I took 2 classes; Tae kwondo and Tai chi. I actually liked both even though I was not confortable in my Tai chi class because I was one of few men registered for the class and the rest were female. All in all, I liked both of them and I tried to go for the next belt in TAE KWONDO but my schedule did not permit so far but am looking forward to the beginning of the semester and make some accomodations for it, may be a day or two. Check with your schools, they might offer it free, like I know in my school it is free.
  24. Sorry folks, I was away from my city and I had no access to internet. My appreciation goes out to all those who took their precious time to contribute to this topic and voicing their concerns. thank you so much. Lakkad, freedom of speech??? This was meant to be a simple question, nothing like taking away anyone's freedom........thanks for the advice though!!
