^^ Well it shouldn't. He should leave all of that to his PM and instead play the role of a uniting president.

Salaam Serenity. How is work and how is life? Did you learn to cook yet? Have you become obsessed with curtain colours yet (Val has)? Does the floor mat outside your house say the words "welcome" and do you have a sticker on your front door with the words "Masha Allah"?

^^ It's not about what he did/does. It's about HOW he's doing them. This issue has been bubbling over ever since the city was liberated. The president was/is aware of such tension and should have calculated that something was going to go wrong there. I mean how could a government send a delegation to a city that they don't really control without first making sure that such a delegation will be welcomed by those running the city! Would the Somali president send his new FM to Hargeisa in a similar way? (considering that he still regards that city as part of Somalia).

What happened yesterday was national embarrassment, and the president is responsible. When he acted presidential sent former defense minister and his chief of staff few weeks back, the city welcomed them. But when he acted small and politicized teh whole thing, with Ali Ameeriko issuing daily threats from Nairobi against the Jubba initiative, the result is a spectacular failure. I fully agree. It's a bad start for this new president.

^^ Yes. Yes. But what about the Macalin's?

I am confused about this Kismayo issue. How many sides are falling out over it and who is behind what? In addition, why are the PL lot making too much noise but A&T's lot are not? Anyway, let us go back to the title of the thread. This is a bit of a riwaayad, is it not? How big a part do reer Macalin play in it? And, will they win? This was inspired by this: The son of prominent North Eastern legislator is in an Inter Governmental Authority on Development delegation that at the weekend travelled to Mogadishu, Somalia to urge the newly elected President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to change his mind on the ban on charcoal export. The delegation that included Igad executive secretary Mahboub Maalim, a representative from Ethiopia and the son of a Kenyan minister in an Igad technical committee dealing with the Jubaland process travelled to Mogadishu in an attempt to arm twist President Mohamud into not supporting the UN ban. What what?

Interested in this year’s Unheard Voices: writers of Somali descent ?
NGONGE replied to Jacaylbaro's topic in General
Sounds like an interesting program. If Jb was in London he'll apply just to ogle young female writers for eleven weeks. -

The only thing that is newsworthy in that clip is the fact (and I lamented this) Professor Gaas demoted himself to a local politician. Professor Gaas call for more transparency will no doubt put a pressure on Faroole , but the timing of his call and the background story that prompted him to do so makes it a bit ineffective. I'm at work, saaxib. Our firewall blocks youtube videos. The mockery that you're recieving is in the use of the word "home" when talking about someone going back to the USA. Wax fahan dee.
-
^^ War wax fahan dee; the mockery came from the "go home" sentence which you (probably unwittingly) used and Xiin and others copied later. p.s. I still say that the Imam's only and BEST retort to Gaas's criticism about the extension is to remind him that he himself would have not become the PM of Somalia if it were not for another extension that took place in Kampala over a year ago.
-
^^ Bal maxa kugu kalifay, GT? Why are you making people notice that it was actually you who misled poor Xiin with your "Gaas Go Home" first post on that thread?

What's the world coming to when I'm being mocked by a sijui and a fish!

I would date SOL threads. This one looks like a recent addition with bad workmenship.

Btw Ngonge, you'll only be allowed to contribute on here only when you learn to differentiate between "uu" and "oo" I have never claimed to be a Somali of the Somalis, saaxib. I'm always happy with my classification of "other". Though I'm working on the "uu" and "oo" problem. At any rate, I always rate Sijuis a couple of steps higher than other Somalis (but even there, a Dar al salaam sijui is higher than a Garisa one, etc).

^^ The first was the "choose a token black man" election. this one is "keep the mormon out".
-
Let us be honest here. This stuff has nothing to do with qurbo kids. It's a sijui malfunction.

Thanks for allowing me, Ayoub. Can I do it later though. I'm busy today.
