  1. Boy born with fetus in his stomach Condition occurs in 1 in 500,000 live births Reuters updated 2:13 p.m. ET Nov. 24, 2006 SANTIAGO, Chile - A boy has been born in Chile with a fetus in his stomach in what doctors said was a rare case of "fetus in fetu" in which one twin becomes trapped inside another during pregnancy and continues to grow inside it. Doctors carried out a scan on the boy's mother shortly before she gave birth on Nov. 15 in the southern city of Temuco and noticed the 4-inch-long fetus inside the boy's abdomen. It had limbs and a partially developed spinal cord but no head and stood no chance of survival, doctors said. After the birth, doctors operated and removed the fetus from the boy's stomach. The boy, who has not been named, was recovering at Temuco's Hernan Henriquez hospital. "It's very rare," said Maria Angelica Belmar, head of the hospital's neonatal wing, speaking of fetus in fetu cases. "It occurs in only one in every 500,000 live births," she told Reuters, adding that the number of cases recorded worldwide was fewer than 90. © Reuters 2006. All rights reserved. 3. ^^ That can be fixed nowadays, saaxib. Tell us about the bit under your shirt, do you skip a beat or two?
  4. A&T, ma ii balan qaaday? AGAIN? kaama aqbalayo..I want CASH right now. ** shakes head knowing the charlatan is not coming back to this thread **
  5. ^^ If and but is all you come up with. Do you realise that if one of those people you meet in the coffee shops, accidentally spills his cup of sweetened tea over an old newspaper that's covering some qaat and a packet of B&H he may stumble upon one of the greatest inventions mankind has ever known and discover the cure for cancer? The world will descend on that dingy maqaaxi and decide to recognise Somaliland there and then. Attitudes and perceptions can easily change you know. By the way, did you hear the story about the beggar that used to pester one of his patrons with invitations to dinner? Come to my house, he kept on saying. I will invite you for a tasty dinner to thank you for all your past help, he added. You must come saaxib, he pestered. But when the patron finally relented and went to visit he was only offered a dirty glass of water! What was it you said to me last time? Come to the politics section so may aheen? War ega tag biyaahaga ma doonayno, farta na ka sar koobka, badow yahoo.
  6. Much ado about nothing really. It is the SUN after all.
  7. Affected online mullahs are the curse of every forum ya akhi.
  8. ^^ I have no problem with fadhi-ku-dirir, saaxib. It serves a purpose; passing time. But, slippery A&T there is changing his tune now. First it was basic and elementary analysis he accused me off but when I pinned him against the wall about his coffee-shop nonsense he turned it round to something about the 'average man and woman'. A&T, those imbiciles you hang around with in coffee shops also believe that the Eart is flat. I need not share some of the stories you find in such establishments with you here. Heck, I bet you've got some of your own already. Adeer, wax la kaalay ban ku edhi (ha ego odhan maqaaxi ban waxan ka maqlay eyo islaanta hiblaayo ayaa waxan tedhi..ceeb caleek ya faarax).

  10. North, No idea. I think it's some Swiss team but can't remember the name. It will be live on Five. Heh. Ibti, Don't feel sorry for him. He gets to go home everytime that thing breaks down. I feel sorry for you though, you obviously been gossiping all of yesterday in your own mind. Malika, Send me a couple of sambusas and we'll call it quits.
  11. Woow! Now Milan have both Tweedledum And Tweedledee
  12. ^^ Tell me what you heard in the coffee shop again, saaxib.
  13. ^^Six week in Marrakesh? What you need to do is organise one of those Somali 'welcome to London' parties. But you'll have to call it 'Have a nice holiday' or something. Collar someone's living room and invite the ladies round. Ask them to pay 20 pounds each and make sure you supply them with enough sambusa, cakes and xalow. I bet you'll make enough to throw in a couple of days in Vegas.
  14. ^^ We shall see. As for your second question, no I wont. Like SL exploited the chink in PL's armour last time they will do it again. The whole point of throwing my lot with SL is because the admin (and ignore Red Sea's rant there) are head and shoulders above anything I have seen in Somalia in the past thirty years. I totally mean it too, Xiin. Now I am not saying they are perfect of course, they're African (and Somali) after all. But they are miles better than any of their rivals and seem to set their goals then go on achieving them. You may disagree here but you will just be lying to yourself.
  15. A yes or no question? How engaging! (NO).
  16. Fahaye What is that in everyday English? Oh, you have nothing to say? It's ok. A&T, adeer wax la kaalay. All you have done so far is come up with rumours, old women's gossip and, shock horror, stuff you heard in a coffee shop in Hargeisa! Basic and elementary you say? Xiin, You keep on asking me to list differences but for the life of me; I have no idea why. Will they make a difference to our argument here? Fine. Of course, the most observable difference is that PL is a one-clan entity whilst, obviously, SL is most definitely not (as this whole thread testifies). Somaliland is the original breakaway entity (just so you're happy) whilst PL is a knee-jerk reaction to that. Somaliland has a clear goal and aim whilst PL has no idea what it wants (allow me to speculate now; maybe it wants to position itself in the middle and demand recognition if SL gets one, or, hurry back to Somalia if that country sorts itself out, whichever comes first). I will do more with this list but I would like first to know where is it all leading to? On the point of how the world views the former republic of Somalia, I do agree with you, they regard it as a failed state. In this view however, they also look upon Somaliland as something different that presents them with a dilemma. Take the recent US statements for example. They did not say that they refuse to recognise Somaliland, they said that they don't want to get ahead of the AU in making that recognition. It was said in plain, straightforward and understandable ENGLISH. Dissect it, turn it over in your head, read it again and then read it some more, you will still end up with the same conclusion. The US (and others in their various statements) has NO objection to the recognition of Somaliland. Now, before you close your eyes and try to break your own neck with all that shaking of the head, let me remind you that this is not an argument for recognition (we can have that one later if you like), this is one to show you the difference in the way SL is viewed. Come on, put your hand on your heart, try to regulate your breathing and then just spit out the words that have been stuck in your throat for months. Say it, saaxib, say: waa ruunta. Ps PL dragging SL into a war is beside the point and changes nothing about SL seceding or driving for recognition. Some might even argue this may benefit Somaliland. Pps I did not deal with some parts there because I think Spadez there did a sterling job already. He left Castro clutching at straws and playing the semantics game.
  17. You just want me to repeat myself over and over again, don’t you? You just listed the similarities between SL and PL. The difference as you already KNOW is that one wants to secede and the other does not. On it’s own, that fact should really tell you all you need to know. But, no, you want it spelled out word for word! Now I am not in the business of rehashing old arguments or plucking old news out of my sleeve. Yes, both states have relations with Ethiopia and yes they have commercial ties with the Gulf States. That is a given and, for the sake of argument, will be ignored for now. However, PL, owing to the fact it does not seek secession is not badgering the African Union, EU, UN or US. It does not have relations with all these entities where the explicit aim is to pressure (or lobby) them into recognising her. PL, is not received in Washington with full state honours neither does it receive US dignitaries visiting its shores. I could go on but I know how quick-witted you are and trust that you get my drift by now. Let us not have a showing off competition, saaxib. We both know where and how the two entities differ. Now the issue of LA is a different kettle of fish altogether. Indeed the question of Sool and Sanag is far from settled but the SL virus has been introduced to the H body and it is starting to eat away at it. The triumph, dear Xiin (and please do not mistake this for bravado or posturing) is in the fact that this has taken place. When PL had control, it was not a big shock. After all, it is expected of kin and kith to stick together. However, for SL to convince some ‘localities’ to switch sides and drop their cousins it is a testament to the belief these people have in the viability of SL and the better chances it offers. Or, maybe as I suspect you think, they are just fond of shooting themselves in the foot? The point is, SL showed them a bit of flesh and turned their heads. Now PL has to offer them something more substantial than the H collective’s war cry to get them back. The way things look, it wont be just some ‘locality’ that will be batting for SL. Soon, it will be all localities. What will your argument be then? (Got to go home). Might continue in a couple of hours......

  19. ^^ Did I ever tell you about my great powers of deduction? I think I know what the ten weeks are about. Rahima is planning to blow up a water bomb, right? Always knew the woman was frivolous. ps Stoic, Make the most of it, saaxib. FF told me that Rahima told her that she plans to close this thread in ten weeks time if JB does not return. Ibti knows noffing.

It completely alters the balance of the thing. Furthermore, the garment on garment friction causes the front of the macawis to ride up and collect around your thighs. Not a good look, saaxib. The traditional look is for it to gather around your buttocks each time you bend down to pick something up. (I wonder what that is called in Somali).
  21. ^^ She's going to close this thread in ten weeks. You heard it here first.
  22. ^^ Had something to please everyone and something to annoy everyone. Good show.
  23. ^^ Heh. You tell me that I should know better and advice me to improve on my shallow street-level analysis then go on showering me with a fat load of hearsay and nonsense? Priceless. A&T, Xiin and Castro come on guys let us clear things up here and deal with this in the proper way. So far what you're given me is stuff and nonsense. I want FACTS (or, failing that, some educated guesses). Don't give me some half-baked opinions that masquerade as facts (just like Lois Lane and Xidigo have been doing for the last few days) and expect me to fall for it. For a start, Xiin, there is no point in entertaining the thought that some Somaliland elites are doing this for such a reason or such a reason. This is baseless conjecture and there is not a single iota of evidence to back up such a fantastic argument. Dabshid and A &T are both trying to sell us the myth about the 'coalition of habro'. A&T goes even further and narrows it down to one element within this coalition; the resolve of the rest (in his eyes) is wobbly, at best. Bah and humbug, says I. Idle gossip will not help you here, you will need to come up with something a little more substantial and solid than the 'everyone knows that the habro are the only ones that want Somaliland'. In the face of the fact that Somaliland has been going from strength to strength in the past 18 years and includes (and retains) sizeable clans (other than the three habros), what proof is there for this weak argument of yours? Ha eska hadlina, saaxbiyaal. Wax la kaalaya. Now, let me return to Xiin and his brilliant argument that there is no discernable difference in the eyes of regional observers between PL and SL! I'm sure that it'll come as no surprise to you that I disagree here. There IS a huge gulf in the way both entities are viewed by all. Let us not attempt to pull the wool over each others eyes here or indulge in the tedious practice of splitting hairs either. One entity has seceded and is working towards attaining recognition whilst the other is unsure what its real point of being is. Still, I am sure (as I bet you are) that there is no doubt in the minds of regional (and international) observers as to the difference between the two entities. The fact that Somaliland is not recognised yet (for the purposes of this point alone) is neither here nor there. The fact that those in the region (and elsewhere) are engaging with Somaliland in the same way they would a sovereign state is what weakens your argument, saaxib. I fully expect you to come back with something about Cade Muse going to sell some goats to Kuwait or some such country and receiving the full VIP treatment and what not. But, just remember the point you made and calm yourself down. The world and his dog view Somaliland as an entity that seeks separation from Somalia (if they agree or don't agree with such a separation does not really matter). This is distinctly different to a region of Somalia that is relatively peaceful and not seeking secession. You know the difference but chose to play this hide and seek game to sidetrack the discussion. The recent SL victories (as you like to call them) were not military ones. They were psychological. It shows that the SL admin and their advisors know what they are doing, do it expertly and will continue to improve with every passing day. Of course, the SL militia you are talking about there was entirely made up of people from that area, as I'm sure you are well aware. Is this a final chance realisation that this has gone beyond the tribal enclaves contention? Those are some hot coals you're trying to skip over there, saaxib. Still, I shall grant you the tribal statement and easily concede the point that it also exists in the North (only a mad man wouldn't). The difference, as I already told Castro above, is in the way the North and South deal with tribal friction. SL has shown time and again its knack for chipping away at hostility then bringing in (and retaining) those that might have been opposed to it yesterday. It's the natural progression that gives me reasons to be optimistic and getting of my fence. If the SL admin is skilled enough at driving a wedge right through the H collective, what are a few foreign countries, AU, EU or UN? At any rate, my optimism here is a darn sight more plausible than your one with the Djibouti conference. Now boys, I cannot keep typing the same things over and over again. Lets play ball. ps Castro, What do you propose to do with those born after 1985? Purge them? Brain wash them? They know nothing other than Somalialnd and will fight to keep it that way. You mock their age there but again you put your foot in it by acknowledging the fervent feelings amongst the Somaliland youth. Our shabaab are better than your shabaab, saaxib. Some of them are girls too. Won't you come back home?
