    Learn 2 Knit

This is very interesting. I used to see some mamas knitting while growing up in Nairobi but I never thought it was for me. Now I wish I'd paid attention in home science class! I would love to make something I can wear. What's the story with the hat?
  3. OMG that's just made work more bearable

Is it my fault I am a true somali and never went to far away Africa lands with my family. Loool Ibtisam I didn't know u knew ur own version of Swahili p.s Living in Minneapolis has made me not sijui but in between

Waa maxay buufiska caynkan ah  Ibtisam I guess there two ways to look at this. It's all well and good to have our own education system without interference from foreigners like Ethiopians but the truth is given the current state of affairs in Somalia/land any paper worth its weight will have to have foreign credentials to be any good in securing jobs etc, At least bringing the institutions to Hargeisa will keep the dhalinyaro closer to home instead of having them travel to Ethiopia to get the diploma

Many women have found it useful to have thick cotton nightgowns for themselves and pajamas for their husbands. These should be donned in separate rooms. They need not be removed during the s.e.x. act. Thus, a minimum of flesh is exposed. If he attempts to kiss her on the lips she should turn her head slightly so that the kiss falls harmlessly on her cheek instead. Sounds Somali enough
  9. Powerful stuff. I visited Edna's hospital in Hargeisa and thought it was great. Women all over the world are facing significant obstacles and it is wonderful to see the few who are able to turn adversity into triumph. Grasshopper it is easier to empower women than to have men change their views!
  10. How you feel is what matters not how many of society's milestones you have been able to accomplish. If you are at peace with yourself then you are a success
  11. ^^^ Bob salama lakini? Umepotea! I believe this will be a good thing. Too often Muslims are up in arms without looking at the long term effects of something like this. It would create interest in Islam and would provide knowledge to those who only get their info about Islam from the media reports on suicide bombings. I agree that this could go either way as far as how they depict the prophet's story (S.A.W), but having a Muslim scholar like Alqaradawi involved should make a difference in how the story is told
  12. Ibtisam maybe they are mad that she is wearing pants
  13. This is wierd! Why are they video taping this? Waxaa iigu daran islaamaha xabadka iska tumaya . Oo gabadu ma baruur bay gacmaha ku haysatay marka sidaa loo rifayo

Haye waan kaa dhaafay qarxiska, my take is that unless the age difference is significant e.g the couple in Somalia with the 90 yr difference and there is no wierd motive like someone marrying an older person for financial gain then it's ok
  15. Geel Jire would it still be ok if it was a girl in your family? Anyway you look at this it is an abomination

  20. I think it is very courageous to voice these doubts. Thank you for being brave enough to ask. I also believe like the other sister mentioned that doubt happens sooner or later if you are a thinking human. How you react is the key difference and seeking knowledge to counter the doubts is very important. Nur maybe you should elaborate on the specifics of the steps needed to counter the doubts
