  1. Looks like I put quite a scare into you guys!! My team is firing on all cylinders, although I do need to improve my squad, so far so good. Its always the quite ones to watch out for, as they!
  2. Hiya Zu Some Uni's organise job/careers fairs annually which is exellent for networking and showcasing what you have got to offer as a graduate. It's good experience taking part in these as it will allow you to identify which companies you would like to work for and what their requirements are. Even if you're not in your final year it's good practice to familiarise yourself with this. Always make sure you have a up-to-date CV/resume handy, look presentable and come prepared to take down notes, numbers and names!
  3. Last square sold on $1m website Alex is on target to graduate with a million dollars in his bank account A student has sold the last piece of advertising space on his website selling a million pixels for $1m. Alex Tew, 21, of Cricklade, Wiltshire, launched milliondollarhomepage.com before going to Nottingham University to study business management. It took him 20 minutes to come up with the idea and five months to sell the blocks of advertising space - the last was sold on Wednesday. He embarked on the scheme after his brother left university owing £30,000. The website has a grid of 10,000 boxes, each 100 pixels (10 by 10) in size. Customers could place advertising logos on the purchased space, linking web users to their own websites. Alex said: "I thought there must be an idea which can make me money fast. "I literally had a month before I started university and I really didn't want to be a broke student and be in the bar worrying about buying a round." In the months since his initial idea, Alex has earned an average of £4,000 a day - the last block of space on the site sold for £38,000. Alex's father, Malcolm said: "He's achieved a lot in the last four-and-a-half months. It was totally unexpected but we're very proud of him." I was really amazed when I saw this on the news the other day. I have to say this is some genius thinking and I just wish I could come up with such creative ideas to earn money instead of doing the usual "student" part-time jobs. BBC Link Million Dollar Homepage
  4. Lending Cd's, dvd'd and the like is no big deal to me, those things probably cost couple of quid and are easily replacable. Laakin money is another matter. Never mind friends, what about your own family. I'm talking first cousins here. Those you expect to be the one's you can trust are the worst. They will F*CK you over in the worst possible way. Never EVER lend money even the smallest amount...shit now I'm swearing because of all the bad memories storms off
  5. Femme ...adigana ma'igu bilaabday...Tuujiye baan qadyaan ka taagnayee BTW They are breathing, kissing can be a form of exchanging oxygen

  7. Posted by Femme: I wonder how caviar tastes like. And is it worth the money? Cheap caviar is quite salty and has a odd resemblance to snot. Good quality caviar on the other hand hasn't got a taste at all and still looks like snot and is ridiculously expensive. SO not worth the money! I wonder if wonders will ever cease
  8. Ciid Mubarak to each and everyone of you. Alle ciidaan ciideeda kale ha nagu gaarsiiyo caafimaad qab, cimri dheer iyo cibaado suuban amiin P.S. Dad oo ari qalaan majiraan for eid among you horta? Be it inaad lacag Soomaaliya u dirtiin and get it done over there instead of here, since it might seem a bit odd slaughtering an animal in your backyard?? Just wondering...
  9. In the words of Elizabeth Kubler-Ross "I have never met a person whose greatest need was anything other than real, unconditional love. You can find it in a simple act of kindness toward someone who needs help. There is no mistaking love. You feel it in your heart. It is the common fiber of life, the flame of that heats our soul, energizes our spirit and supplies passion to our lives. It is our connection to God and to each other". Love is undeniable. Those who think it's overrated, must have not been breastfed. P.s. E.Unstable, you know what they say, 'love is like medicine', so don't worry about getting your finger cut

  16. ^^ The nasheeds were very nice indeed. My little sisters got me hooked, so was very pleased to see Yusuf Islam and other groups performing. The whole event was just amazing. In particular Yvonne Ridley's and Dr Naik's speech. Managed to get a picture of Dr Naik, though someone's big head is obscuring the view. Couldn't be you, Raganimo, could it?
  17. ^ alla is jecla...you can even google google (that just sounds wrong...."I'm googling google") Another google addict here reporting for duty! It's amazing what it can do. You type in one word and a whole world opens up. I'm all up for giving away my brain and implanting google there instead. Thinking is so 1994
  18. Hi Femme, The problem with labels is that it's usually mostly shells that contain a lot assumptions. When we are taken in by a label, we are taken in by opinions and beliefs. That is, we willingly accept statements without evidence of their validity. Thus labels become definitions of a situation, implying that if you define a situation as real, it is real only in its consequences. What I'm trying to say that when people start labelling themselves or others, often times the individual takes the label as real and can therefore become whatever the label implied and not because they were already an "addict" or a "failure" (also known as the self-fulfilling prophecy). Living in a society where the majority of the population lacks self-esteem to deal with personal issues can also be a factor. People generally put their trust in health professionals when it comes to their mental as well as physical well-being. Therefore the blame of diminished responsibility of personal issues can just as well be placed on society and its abundance on these professionals who promise to "sort you out" and at the same time have a nice name for your little problem. Labels are judgemental and unfair and are most of the time unnecessary. It can be hurtful to the individual who is wrongfully labelled. There are so many labels that some people can have several imposed on them. It does not matter if they are derogatory, ‘neutral’, or even ‘politically correct’, they all impose limitations on the people they are directed to. However, we all have the need to label or, better yet, categorise others and ourselves. This is a learned pattern and is maintained through hegemony. In a perfect world we should resist and forgo the use of labels, unlearn these terms and unlearn the way we see others and ourselves. However, the perfect world would also be free of war, poverty and diseases.

  21. ^^ LOL @ Brown waxba kuu dhiman...Inseminate one and move on to the next one eh, imagine more of you walking this earth...I don't think we could bear it! Back to the topic, I remember when I was younger always thinking that by the time I was 18 I was going to be married and be having children soon after. How naive I was! Two of my friends got married recently and got pregnant right away. Both of them have given birth few weeks ago and observing them and the pain they went through, I am seriously doubting whether it'll be worth having one. Is it worth it going through nine months of feeling extremely uncomfortable and then couple of hours of excruciatingly painful labour (or god forbid a caesarian!) and then having that brat wake you up in the middle of the night (countless times), cry you all the way to a mental institution and then go through this whole "adolescent" period where he or she don't give a toss about anything or anyone but themselves? I'm not dismissing having children altogether, just saying that I can sympathise with women who feel that they can live without them or at least push the whole thing back to a time in their lives when they could probably use the company.
  22. Eid Mubarak to each and everyone! Hope you had the best time with family and friends.

  25. Illahey haa u naxariisto indeed. Awoowe YamaYam was much loved by his whole family and we'll really miss his presence. He was a tower of strenght to his family and seen as a literary legend by many Somali's. It's a sad loss. Thanks to everyone for their kind words
