  2. uhum ....okay, ill admit. It happened to me loads of times too, being pushed, shoved and plastered against the walls or bus on occasions like those u mentioned. But i think the fact i was thinking in such way, was because it was an overcrowded place and especially if there is a long que, or when it's hot, it doesnt necessarly has to be because there is a little evil you lurking on the surface waiting for the perfect moment to make an appearance.

    Fess up!!

^^^ ...then a villa in spain, then a one way ticket to the bahamas I have to agree with sthml , money can't buy love. If you want girls to accept you fot the way you are then you are gonna have to stop all these materialistic stuff...adiga aye ka arkeen marka hore. There can be other ways to show how much you care for them other than buying gifts for them etc. What happened to a candle lit dinner, if you cook it even better (but thats asking too much of mali men, or am i mistaken), or a stroll in the park, enjoy the lil things first together then move on to the next level. That way you'll know whether the girl like you for you and not because of the gifts you give her. P.S. rudy , u got an obsession with xalimo's or what??

idil babe, i think ur experiencing insomania...which is basically when you can't seem to fall in sleep, or maybe you do and then you wake up an hour or two later. Like king said, you should go and see you doctor about this, because it is a serious matter. kaha yoga is nice, or you could pamper yourself, or listen to those mood tapes where you can hear the ocean or the wind, it's very calming if you want more ideas just let me know pearl, since when did we report fellow nomads girl...it's called sharing dee i don't use much male-up myself, just a bit of mascara and lippy and that's it. but this lady in a shop i went into recomended that the use of concealer comes handy sometimes. And yes pearl, i know what you mean with everyone looks different at weddings, mostly those women there look like they had a fight with the powder box  ....talk about too much of something

    A Love Story

Hey Nur, well, after reading both the letters in somali en english (and getting some serious eye exercises afterwards...)I have to say that is a very interesting post. It's a tough situation when you are torn between your parents and the person you love. But what if the parents reason for disliking the person is very pettish (like the way he cuts her hair, or the way she looks, not meaning in terms of wearing unsuitable clothes), are u still supposed to ignore you feelings and go for whatever your parents decide. I know you have to listen and respect what your parents say, but we all know somali people sometimes have very pettish reasons (like qabiil) for not wanting you to marry with someone they dislike.

^^^ Thas all good Gediid, but which part of Girls Only did u not get?? ...Let us have our girly talk in peace mate...we were starting to get into the swing of things dee! magnoona girl...i find that Veet Warm Roll On Wax is the best, it heats itself up while its on ur skin plus it's got a mosturiser so you won't feel all dry or anything afterwards...but if that won't do or if u can't find it, try finding one with mosturiser and/or with vitamen C or E. And for anyone who thinks waxing or shaving are out of the question, there's always those hair removal creams, they're time savers...will only take 8 minutes tops. Pearl...thanx love...u can borrow the trade mark if u want, but u're gonna have to see my copyrights company about it Does anybody put on a concealer...and what make-up products do u use, blusher, powder, lipstick, lipgloss, eye make-up??

naa hibo i think u can read minds i was thinking of posting this thread too...great minds eh for somali chick...well baby girl to remove saggy bags under my eyes i always use camomile thee bags, put them in hot water and place them on ur eyes, closed ofocurse (make sure u dont overdo the hotness...we dont want u burning them!). This might sound cheesy but it actually helps, it calms u and if u do this twice a week, then ur dark circles should hopefully go away...it works for me (cuz i'm worth it ) One question girls...waxing or shaving?

    What are We??

Salaam Nomads, Well i don't know if this topic has been covered before or not, cuz lately a lot seems to be repeated but i'll ask anyway. I have this question for any of you nomads out there that thinks they can answer it. First let me tell you how came i up with the question. A couple of days back i had this conversation with couple of African girls about Africa and ones culture, so to make a long thing short, one of the girls said that they didnt consider us Somalians as African. She said that because we don't have, and i quote "the nigger nose" or the "the jareer hair" or are amazingly "dark skinned" we must be arab-asian. We had a really heated discussion about who's what and so on. I was really disturbed by this as I consider and see myself as an African and I've always been proud of this. I even asked my mom and dad the same question and they replied that nobody really knows what the original somali people are as a lot of countries and people have colonied and co-habited in Somalia. Besides some people even say that we come from the early pharao's   ...So this seems all puzzeling to me. I mean we're not even seen as Africans by other Africans although we're supposed to be the "Horn Of Africa". So my question to you nomads is How do you see yourself and Who do you think You are in terms of African and non African and do you agree with the notion that just because we don't have all the characteristics of a "regular african" we arn't real Africans?
  18. how much would you believe of something a person u just got to know on the net, told you? I mean, me on a personal level never approved much of those online dating things, whether they be white, somali or hindu for all i care. Without trying to make any offences i think it looks as though a person is forcing it to get to know someone, what wrong with the old fashioned..."have u got the time"...okay that might sound a bit cheesy, but all i'm saying is getting to know people off the net has got its own risks, bigger ones than when u meet someone on the street or via some other contact u got...the WWW has got its advantages but it cmes along with its major disadvantages as well...and plus think of the dissapointment if that person is not at all as you imagined, cuz he/she had been feeding you all sorts of crap and goobledegook. You can claim to be whoever you want behind the net and people always think they know what they are getting up against but its easy to get sucked into the 'romance' or 'allure' of things. Just think twice before partcipating in any of those kinda things
  19. white angel, hey meid ik dacht dat ik de enige kaaskop was well i speak somali dutch english a lil arabic a lil german a lil french ....impressive huh where are all the other dutch people at anyway...must be luring around the corners or something
  20. this is a good post. by the way, i thought we weren't even supposed to use the word GOD, because if u turn it around it means Dog or something, like the word mosque came from mosquitos (if u get what i mean)...it might seem off track or something but i just thought i should slip in the discussion. thanx for sharing mohab...it was interesting reading that
  21. they need to stop being so damn stubborn, that is the worst thing besides qabill. they can be so pigheaded, that they only see their point of view and how that will benfit them, instead of looking out to a wider community. everyone wants to come into power, everyone wants to rule, they all think that they're ideas are the best ones, and when they dont get it their way, it's whup out with the diplomatics (if there were any to begin with) and in with the guns and bazooka's. They need to have some more organisation in their politics, because its all over the place at the moment, and ppl should stop worrying about which clan should rule next and which not,a nd concentrate more on how to educate all them children that can't tell a book from a sheep. That's how i see it anyway.
  22. ^^ LOL biological clock kumalaho, dont worry lakkad by that time almost every woman has got a plan B But u know, looks do matter like 99.5% of the time, but the other 0.5% can be different cases such as when the love develops out of friendship or just normally getting to know a person and falling for their personality, that still happens around the world. The way i see it, it depends on whatever situation you're in at that moment. People think admitting that looks matter is like admitting to being shallow or narrow minded, but its not, it's just in our human nature, u naturally look twice at people with good looks etc. Ciao
  23. ^^^ THANK YOU!! islamically the wife doesn't have to cook for her man Right, dominos pizza it is then!
  24. hmm, interesting question Well, i see it like this; WE have an oppurtunity to study and get somewhere with our lives having the advantage of living in these western countries that make all those things easier than it would be back home, so when the time comes (and IF it comes) it would be basically down to us to rebuild the mother land. You said "inaan ku noqdo dalkeygi waan rabaa laakiinse uma socdo haduusan hormar gaarin", but just because adiga aad hormar gaaratay does that mean you should shun those who didnt and deny them of sharing what you know with them. Not intending to attack you sis, but if we all think like that then somalia doesnt have a future at all. When our parents say 'war wax barta oo markaad dalka ku noqatid aad wax canfacdid', it seems like something that might never happen but when it happens should we all say 'oh its not really as up to date as i would like so i'll just stay and work my *** off for these white ppl'. Why do that, when you can put the same energy into rebuilding your country to be as up to date as theirs. I would love to go back there when the time comes and be part of rebuilding somalia to what it was. Living in these white parts might seem like something that's nice and relaxing but there's no place like home, sitting under the shadow of a tree, sipping hot shaah with xalwad...it's not something you will get by walking in london, or new york.
