    BAAQ MUHIM AH

Now, this is what I believe is a worthwhile call to protest. The effects of nuclear waste on the environment and people will last for decades and generations to come. Unfortunately, Somalis in the West are more apt to express fake nationalism and protest for nonsensical issues. I will be surprised if Mohamed Osman Omar's kind of protest ever takes place.
  3. Bannaanbax lagu cambaareynaayo Qashinka Hubka Nuklearka oo lagu daadinaayo badda Sooomaaliya April 5, 2005 Sida dhamaan, qaranka sharafta leh, aad la socotaan, shalay Xarunta Qaramada Midoobay, New York, waxaa ka bilawday shirweyne – 2 Maajo ilaa 27 Maajo 2005 – oo looga hadlaayo sidii loo hakin lahaa, loo dhimi lahaa ama loo baa’bin lahaa Hubka Nuklearka. Sidaaas darteed, waxay ila tahay in dhamaan Soomaalida, meel kasto ay joogaan, bannaan bax, lagu cambareenaayo qashinka iyo sunta hubka nuklearka ah oo lagu daadiyey, welina lagu daadinaayo badda Soomaaliya ama Indian Ocean. Dhibaatada maanta Soomaaliya hortaal, ee mustaqbalka ummadda iyo bi’adeeda hadidaayo, kama yara, haddii ay ka darneen, Bombooyinkii lagu baabi’iyey Hiroshima iyo Nakasaki ee dalka Japan dagaalki II ee adduunka oo 60 sano kaddib, carruurta dhalanayso weli dhibaato ku haayo. Waxaan soo jeedinaya in Sooomaalida ku nool qaaradda Amerikada Waqooye, US iyo Kanada gaar ahaan, inay ka mudaaharaan Xarunta Qaramada Midoobay horteeda haddii ay suurto gal u tahay, haddii kalena meelaha ay joogaa inay isla maalin soo wada bannaan baxaan. Sidoo kale Soomaalida ku nool qaaradaha kale, iyo ummadda ku nool dalka Soomaaliya gudahiisa, iyagana halkoodii ka sameeyaan mudaaharaadyo, si loo muujiyo dembiga laga galaayo shacabka Soomaaliya oo aan wax awood ah u lahayn inay ka hor tagaan dhibaatada qaswhinka nuklearka. Madaama uu shirka socon doono wax ku dhow hal bil, waxaan soo jeedin lahaa in bannaan baxaas la sameeyo taariikhda markay tahay Bisha Maajo 17, 2005 oo ku beegan maalin Talaado. Waa muhim, waa arrin nolol ama geeri ah. Haddii aan maanta laga hor-tagin sumeynta baddeenna, bi’adeenna iyo ciideyna, waxaa dembi lama ilaabaan aan ka galeynaa dadka hadda joogo, caruurteenna iyo caruurtooda iyo guud ahaan qaranka Soomaaliyeed. Ku soo biiriya banana baxa qofka kasta oo taageera ummadda Soomaaliyeed. Aan ka siiyo dalka aan jecelnahay, hal maalin noolasheenna. Wa Billaahi At Towfiiq. 5. Nice pictures. It would have been better to take the pictures at higher resolution (800x600, 1024x768).

I have initially tried to register with my Somalinet nick (Arabman), but didn't succeed. I recently tried to update my profile to Arabman, but didn't succeed. I contacted Admin, but he/she couldn't help me. Perhaps you can help.

  11. Originally posted by rudy: have heard the saying that action speaks louder than words! Yeah, have heard about it, though it doesn't make sense. I mean, I don't get how action can speak louder than words. If anything, words are more associated with speaking than action. I guess it's an old saying that has outlasted its usefullness. Never mind its allegorical or figure of speech implication. Many old sayings do not make sense, especially in this era. For example: "It's not rocket science" would have made sense in the era when rocket science was under development; not anymore in this era.

You appear to be lacking how to properly read and comprehend. You also appear to be lacking a minuscule of imagination. From the report: Nadeem's brother-in-law said Nadeem had been behaving abnormally and visiting shrines of Muslim saints for last few months. Police's preliminary report also suggests that the accused was probably mentally disturbed . You forgot to leave the link of this report: Man 'offers' family to Prophet The answer to what kind is: Mentally unstable. Try to be a little bit imaginative. Thanks for the correction. ⇓

Any pictures or broadcast of the Ottawa protest? I have searched major Somali sites, to no avail. The Ottawa protest is receiveing minuscule coverage or interest, the reason being as I have outlined; it was held post momentum.
  18. Originally posted by wind.talker: Isn't that the whole purpose? If so, What good is freedom of expression if it can't change something or anything? Selective protests and demonstrations are allowed in the West, because it's not meant to change something or anything. If a protest isn't allowed, but its eventual happening leads to change, then it's the real deal. If a protest is allowed, but its eventual happening doesn't lead to change, then it's energy wasted. Why do people protest? To change something. Will the Somali protests in the UK and Canada lead to sparing the lives of Somalis who will be beheaded in the future? Maybe, if Western governments pressure the Saudi government, and/or Western media outlets give the issue some headlines.
  19. Originally posted by wind.talker: Protests are allowed in the U.S. You didn't get it. When there's no interest/benefit for the US in a protest against the Saudi government, no protest will take place. Clearly, the US has no interest in Somalis protesting against the Saudi government. What's more, the Somali protests in the UK and Canada are totally ineffective. The reason; only a handful of Somali sites are covering it. Proof: Google News result What good is freedom of expression if it isn't allowed ? It's not allowed, because it will cause to change something. For example, protests in Kyrgyzstan have led to the ouster of its president. In countries where it's allowed, it changes nothing; again, Iraq being the ample example.
  20. Originally posted by wind.talker: in Canada, they have something called 'freedom of expression.' Are you referring to the so-called freedom of expression? That freedom of expression is merely an expression, no actions involved, because it can't change anything. For example, protests were held prior the Iraq invasion, but it were mere expression, changing nothing. The real freedom of expression exist in countries like Saudi Arabia, but isn't allowed, because action will be involved which will lead to change something. Hopeful, this protest will be covered by the international press and/or media, unlike the one in London which was only covered by some Somali sites. No, Somalis in Saudi Arabia - or anywhere else in the Arabian Peninsula - can't openly protest because they're not allowed to. Not only in the Arabian peninsula, but also many countries worldwide, especially those that enjoy good relationship with the Saudi government. A protest cannot be held in the US; it's almost impossible. Proof:
  21. Originally posted by Legend of Zu: if that so what about the americans and western countries who had given us AID...so should we join EU as well? It's not "so should we join EU as well"; we can't, it's not possible. We can't neither join NAFTA; it's not possible. Turkey which is partly located on the European continent, is having a tough time joining the EU, despite being ultra secular and their people looking like Europeans. The other thing, the aid given to Somalia by "the americans and western countries" is different than the Arab's. With the first, nothing comes free, there's always a price to pay or gains/benefits to be made. With the later, it's free as free.
  22. Originally posted by Legend of Zu: We shouldn't be in the Arab league in the first place!!! So, your idea is to deny Somalia the benefits of being a member of the Arab League? It's not like Somalia benefits the Arab League; Somalia isn't rich or militarily superior. Throughout the history of its membership, Somalia has recieved billions of dollars in various aid formats. Somalia didn't return any favor; the least it could have done was adopt Arabic for its alphabet; instead it refused and adopted a foreign alphabet.
