  2. Most African national anthems were written by their colonizers. Somalia's national anthem was written by Giuseppe Blanc (1886-1969), who also wrote Giovinezza, the Italian Fascist anthem (1922-1943). About the words, I am not sure, but think it's along these lines: Somaliyaay toosoo Toosoo isku tiirsada ee Hadba kiina taag daranee Taageera waligiinee..
  3. It's a party whose ideology is based on Karl Marx's theories of socialism. It receives some limited support from a country (or a few) whose system is based on socialism. In short, it's a party whose platform is based on secularism. Like many similar parties that sprouted in the West (especially during/after the formation of the current transitional government), it will achieve little or nothing, because it has no representation or base support in Somalia. How can it achieve anything when it's not even a spectator of the playing field of Somalia? Plus, it has little or no grasp of the realities in Somalia, because its members have been living in a different reality for more than a decade. The solution to Somalia's troubles will come from within, i.e. Somalis who live in Somalia.

As any logical individual is aware of, emotion makes a weak logic. The prison where Ibn Taymiyyah died.

I have searched Google, but failed to find some works/links of the Many so-called muslim apologists. From the poster's failure to provide some works/links of the Many so-called muslim apologists, we can deduce this illogical topic might be something akin to a waste of space and time.

  11. Originally posted by ole farah: What is your view? Well, he strikes me as a diehard secularist. There's a problem with being a secularist, let alone a diehard secularist. What I am trying to say is, he's indifferent to the interests of Islam and Muslims. He even accused his fellow Muslims as terrorists. This whole debacle cannot even remotely be described as having anything to do with Islam or Islamic system. In that, Hussein Aideed isn't destined to be unique, but mere statistics.
  12. Originally posted by Mutakallim: Many so-called muslim apologists attack the creeds of other religons all the while unaware of the incongrous tenets of their adulterated version of Islam. They argue that other beliefs are illogical and irrational, and once they are asked to explain the concept of a God with parts (eye, hand, leg, face) they respond with the infamous expression of paradox, to wit, "the 'how' is unknown" (Al-Kayfu Majhuul). Your above statement is murky. Muslims are least likely to attack the creeds of other religons. When they talk about the creeds of other religons, they talk about what Islam has taught them. I have done some googling about articles or works done by the so-called muslim apologists; I have found none. Perhaps you could furnish the works of some of the Many you have talked about.

A PhD degree is merely a degree in a specialized field. What good is it? It could help one find a job, if there's a job. If there's no job, it becomes insignificant. It could get you a high paying job depending on your origin, race, color, religion and etc. For instance, there are Asians with PhD degree employed in the West, who are paid significantly less than their local counterparts. Degrees evolve. A prized degree can/could become insignificant over a number of years. That's why people adapt by earning a new degree that's employable. PhD degrees used to be much hyped by some (especially in the Third World) in the past, but is no longer. A PhD holder isn't necessarily a higly intelligent individual. A PhD holder can only be good in his field of specialization, if the field is productive and can earn him/her good salary. In short, a PhD degree is nothing to boast about; it should at best make its holder humble. Besides, for Muslims, a PhD degree that doesn't serve the interests of Islam and Muslims, is useless.
