I'm glade you kissed and made up!. Perhaps now you can focus on more important things in life. Both of you are as bad as each other. I don't understand how you can read, comprehend the articles that you posted, and then argue over such stupidness

Born again Christians who subscribe that we are living in the end of times, common in American foreign policy makers actively campaign for US support of war in the Middle East and will ravage the world during the 7years of the Tribulation until (the Muslims/ axis off evil are) defeated in the great battle with the forces of goodness in the valley of Armageddon (northern Israel). At this point just before Christ returns to walk the earth, all the world Jews will either convert to Christianity or be destroyed. The Jews are currently needed to support the prophecies; and they must conquer the rest of the Biblical Lands (which is mot of the Middle East) and build the third temple on the site in Jerusalem now occupied by the Al- Aqsa Mosque. I was just researching at work and i come across this, i can't believe that the same people that is expected to slove the problem in the Middle East (having created it in the first place) hold these believes and don't even try to hide it!!!.

ME: 1) The book you recommended was bit useless on the topic at hand, written in 1950s by a Polish man, who has visited Somalia twice has little to add to what I already knew. Mind you I have not read the book, but few reviews of it. From what I read there are better books than it and reviewers were not impressed. Maybe that’s why you have deleted your post. 2) This obsession and repetition is crazy, you need to chill. I do not see who has made you the spokes person for SL people. Every individual has the right to decide their own destiny, if they choose to do it collectively then that is up to them. 3) Your ignorance and presences in LALA land is shocking So we should fight on all these fronts and make sure us as Somalis survive and come through these hard times intact. Survive, intact   and how do you think this will happen! By extending the war zone Last but not least. Somalia and indeed the rest of Africa is based on tribal lines, this has been the case long before independence. Lets just suppose that there was a united Somalia; what do you think its political process will be based on? Party line! Certainly not!. The dominate feature will always be tribe/ Clans and sub clan's. This makes you argument and indeed the author’s argument that Somaliland is based on clan/ tribalism etc Irrelevant . It does not surprise me. Like any other country, the elite (or politicians) shall I say, are of course interested in their own self gain. There is no doubt that there are features of this in any nation. However to suggest that few politicians were fully successful in manipulating the residence of Somaliland to 1) keep quiet or support them or 2) not object to what has been decided even if they want to be part of a wider Somalia is insulting to say the least towards the people of that region.

^^^I hope you read and understand what you wrote and apply it to yourself. Interesting read to say the least. Well written and argued, but poorly researched and far fetched conclusions (by this i mean he does not prove his case with unbaised evidence and sources)check out how other authors do this (John J. Mearsheimer & Stephen M. Walt b THE ISRAEL LOBBY AND U.S. FOREIGN POLICY; London Review of Books Vol. 28, No. 6 (March 23, 2006) for example). It is a man telling his view and opinion and generally going on a rant. I doubt he set the record straighter than anyone else as everyone twist things to suit their message. Clearly he is worried about the possibility of recognition and problems it may cause. So much for unity, he is clearly aiming to isolate them. In any case for anyone who wants to read the history of Somalia/Somaliland; Rather then reading a clearly biased information. Read the Scramble for Africa or the State of Africa. Both really well written, and has evidential backing. Pointless debating is wasteful, in truth both regions add nothing to each other and each has its problems. cheers

For those of argue that we should help Somalia, you still fail to show or suggest how, hence you are just paying lib service to it, but doing nothing (this does not included send $100 monthly to family members as it does not change their long term situation but is rather a short term measure/ relief). What I want to know is how far we can take this idea of helping your own people first. For those of you who advocate for this, where does it end, Help all Somalis, help your clan, sub clan, sub sub clan, or just your immediate family, where does the distinguishing end? This post has gone bent in all kinds of shape. The fact of the matter is that anyone who tells me that writing a letter or e-mail takes away from their efforts in doing something for Somalia, is a liar; and a bad one at that. For the person talking about Arabs and hot sand. You make me sick... Why would you drag in the ethnic identity of murdered kids and women? What comes around goes around, And Allah is aware of your actions.

Originally posted by SupremeSacrificeSister: Am I suffering from lack of focus or lack of compassion?? Neither i would say,.. As I read this post I can’t help asking my self this; can REALLY help or focus on my neighbor’s burning house when my OWN house is burning as well??? Your house will burn a lot fast if the neighbour’s house is on fire too. Would it be better to tackle one house at a time? That way your focus and energy is maximumised. You must know that the united is always stronger, have a bigger voice, and accounted for. Few groups/ Muslim nations working against each other or in different directions, rarely affect anyone or change there situation. You seem to have reached this conclusion, but prioritised differently. Why should you help Palestine instead of Somalia. Let me break it down for you. Somali's have never suffered under the hands foreign occupation as much as Palestine have (even in colonial times, we got off lightly then the rest). Today Somali civilians in somalia live in safe conditions than Palestinians (even accounting for the tribal/ religious war outbreaks) The difference in weapons alone is mind-blowing. So in my opinion Somalia is already in a better condition or strong as you say. Somalia has no one to blame but themselves, there is no outsider that is currently beating them down (even Ethiopia and American forces are employed and called upon by our warlords, who are inviting them in). The only empowerment we need is Somalia is to get rid of the self seeking warlords. Palestine problems are bigger that that, much bigger, and they need all the help they can get to over come it. Lastly I don’t see Masjidal Aqsa in Somalia, but I see it in Palestine. Than that’s when I realized the answer to my question is as simple as this.. I can’t help others if I can’t help myself. Same applies 2 helping other nation. It’s a wonderful argument Uthman1 has but let’s face it; all the energy or focus can go 2 helping our country in any sort of form. And inshallah when Somali is as strong as can be than I can think about Palestine and other nation that I can help. Firstly you can only help yourself by the will of Allah and through his help, however Allah helps those that help others and are compassionate. What makes you or us shall I say (Somali’s) deserving of Allah’s help and mercy, if neither help nor have mercy on suffering people. Last but not least... how do you determine when Somalia is strong enough, do you mean a superpower, a regional power, a stable country. You have to remember that each of us only has a limited time on earth; many of us may not see Somalia or Palestine in a better condition, let alone prioritise them so that we help one at a time. It is more beneficial to both and you as an individual to help them both to the best of your ability, Allah will never burden your soul with deeds you can’t fulfil. In any case whether it be Somalia or Palestine, you need constructive solutions and suggestions. You have been given a suggestion (e-mail BBC/ MP) which takes about 20min at most, which does not take anything away from what you may do for Somali. You have chosen not to do it, not only that but you post a response to pacify the rest of the readers. I don’t get that, you won’t help, and encourage others to focus their attention on Somalia, although the act does not take anything away from Somalia. Secondly you give no suggestions to what people should do for somalia right now, instead of sending that e-mail. cheers

How many times do we complain about the media and its bias against Muslims? Only this past week have we seen every excuse imaginable put forward by influential pro-Israeli members in the media who have sought to defend the continuing slaughter of the Palestinian people. The difference now is one media reporter has stepped up by exposing the truth of the escalating brutality committed by the Israeli military. Jon Snow has dared to criticize Israel! He has stood firmly against pro-Israeli propaganda and has delivered a superb, objective and impartial interview. It is perhaps one of the most sensational interviews of all time on channel4 and we must applaud Snow and channel 4 for this. ACT NOW!! It is crucial that Jon Snow is not silenced! We must support the media presenter as a matter of urgency by sending comments of support to news@channel4.com and jon.snow@itn.co.uk. All that is needed is a short paragraph remembering to point out the following: • Thank channel 4 for their balanced and insightful account of the attack of Gaza. • Further show an appreciation of Jon Snow’s thought provoking interview which highlighted clearly the discrepancies in the case put forward by the Israeli Government for their continuing attacks on the Palestinian people in Gaza through their policy of collective punishment. Alternatively call Channel 4 television on 020 7306 8333 and make your comments. Comments made by Jon Snow in the interview: “You (Israel) cut of the water…fuel...electricity and your starving the hospitals out.†â€Rockets are pretty pathetic things really, nobody gets injured, they are homemade…(while) you (Israel) are delivering some of the most sophisticated bombardment which has ever been subjected on a civilian population. Is this not an act of terror?†“Bombing the PowerStation - is this not an act of terror?!†Be mindful these campaigns are a part of the media jihad. The Quran says “And strive hard in Allah’s cause as you ought to strive. He has chosen you and has not laid upon you in religion any hardship†(22:78) and “Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong: They are the ones to attain felicity.†(3:104) Meanwhile remember to continue and lobby your MP so the plight of the Palestinian people can be brought to light and those who can make a real difference are pressured sufficiently into action.

There was no one on the bus, but him and the driver, he had an argument with the driver (No one knows what was really said, the door opened, while the bus was still in motion and he flew out into the road. The driver denies they argued and instead says that he come running down from upstairs, press the emergence button while the bus was moving and flew out. There is only one witness, who saw him fall from the moving bus. CCTV footage is being looked at by police and the driver is out on bail. He’s condition remains unchanged in hospital. May Allah have mercy on him, and help him regain his health and strength. Peace out.

Nameless: BLA BLA BLA BLA am sooo sick of topics like these always talking about qabiils. Whether it is to put down one or brag about one. Especially SL's get a life . SL this SL that. Damn I never knew what they were and now I feel like I know every thing there is to know about SL's. They all have big heads and think they are top of the world which in fact they are like the rest of Somalis all starving and dying. Jesses Allah help us. Amiin. Your lack of understanding, naivety and above all arrogance is illustrated by what you have written above. You think you can learn about a whole region from a forum, when half of the time you are not even sure where the person is from. Then to make it worse, you generalise that so called "knowledge" to All Somali Landers. This knowledge which is so accurate that you think Somaliland is one qabil, “who should get a lifeâ€. You ignores is mind blowing. I wish you educated yourself about matters you wish to speak about. It makes you look like a clueless headless chicken. IB I see all this qabiil talk is getting to you and all this time I thought you really didn’t care. You thought I did care? About what, qabil? I don’t. Oh you mean Somaliland! I care that they like everyone else is free to do what they wish. I am also passionate about people telling other people what they can or cannot do, and I specifically have a problem with people telling others they don't exist. But as what I can gather you are concerned with it as all the rest of the SL’s. From you replying to these topics while you have an exam coming up really shows it. loool. Really? What do you do when you have exams lock yourself up? Everyone has different capabilities and there are various ways of studying and coping with exams. Jamiliah Hate? I have more Iman and knowledge to hate a group of people let alone an entire region. But based on your logic everybody on this site who has a somaliland flag hates Somalia. I am really perplexed by the hypocrisy. Since when is the Somali flag a symbol of hatred. I posted the flag because despite everything I am optimistic towards the future of my country. Once again, is that a crime? I did not say anything about anyone’s flag. Anyone can post a flag of whatever they like, alone It signifies little and has even less to do with hate. But the manner and words that accompany it can alter that at times. Personally I have No issue with your flag. When I meant authority I was not refering to any of the things you listed. But I will give you a clue since you were evidently unable to put two and two toghether. Who is the Almighty and sees all that is concealed and revealed and knows what the future has in store for us all? (I hope that helped). You mean you were looking for revelations from God. NO I have no such authority, but nor do you to say that IT will work and there will be a united Somalia. Based on this (that one can only speak about issues in the future if they have “authority" then no one qualifies. We make sense of the world, based on assumptions, theory or facts. It’s rather amusing how your strong sense of justice is restricted to a group. You are more so a hindrance than a help to the views you are trying to express. I find this sentence amusing, to say the least. There is no one that is totally Justice, but I try my best, and my sense of Justice is not restricted to a group, in fact many groups, non groups, and individuals come under it. If you have issues with Khalaf’s statement in future address him directly and not bring an entire nation into your argument. That way you would save yourself alot of drama. In future maybe you would like to address only issues that have your name under/above it, especially as the person already answered for themselves. I am not bothered with what kind drama it causes, if someone wants to make an issue out of something that is not an issue then that’s up to them. You overestimate your value in this discussion to actually think we will be waiting in anticipation for your “contribution†(I hope you can pick up on the sarcasm). I have far too much dignity and intelligence to further participate in this fruitless dialogue, so I will quit while I am ahead. Lool. Aren’t you a funny one! “I overestimated my valueâ€; No honey I just thought it was the polite thing to do, since your little rant was addressed to me and triggered by posts. In future I won't bother, as it was lost on you. I have been stooped to the level that I actually justified having posted up the Somali flag Again you are mixing up things. Paranoia gets the best of us. No one said anything about you flag. Make a dress out of it and wear it if it makes you feel better. Somalia and Somaliland flags are both a sorry state. Neither or even if you lump them together means anything to anyone but the people who identify themselves to it. If you carry a Somalia flag, the most anyone will say (outside the Somali community) is poor Somalia, it has been a failed state for so log. Looking at the Somali flag, it signifies everything that Somalia is not. As for the Somaliland flag, people just wonder or will question to you where it represents. Then nod and move along. Stop trying to make something that is not out of it. No one has to justify what they identify with to anyone, Nor does anyone need permission to post a flag or anything else. No one really cares about what you think of SL, and no one will ever ask you what their destiny is, only they can decide, so stop waste your time and focus on something that will benefit you in life. I actually don’t get people, nameless; you think so low of “all of them†anyway why would you want to lump them with Somalia, I would have thought you would be thinking God riddance. The one thing that I agree with is that Somalis and starving and dying everywhere, It will certainly be more beneficial to focus on that rather then argue about things that we will never agree on. Khalaf. Both are part of me, and my life. agreeing to disagree is sometimes the way forward. I am done with this. Apologies to anyone who is/ was offended or found my tone/words harsh. cheers

Obviously there is an issue that needs to be resolved as this topic keeps popping up. I’ll write my response after my exams. Till then you can carry on with your sweet nothing expressions and over used and abused comments. cheers

The European Commission has delayed a final recommendation on whether Bulgaria and Romania should join the EU next year until the autumn. The Commission's report said their entry into the EU could still be delayed until 2008 if they don't show progress on tackling corruption and organised crime. Critics are warning the 25 member state EU is already stretched too far and the door to membership must be closed to new entrants. Should Romania and Bulgaria be allowed to join and what difference will it make to Britain if they do? Tim Whewell investigates. And we'll be speaking to Geoff Hoon in his first television interview as Minister for Europe. ON YER BIKE Another D-Day has finally come. Newsnight's Ethical Man, Justin Rowlatt, continues his 12 month experiment into ethical living by waving goodbye to his car. We'll be debating whether there's any point in people making this kind of personal sacrifice, with car enthusiast Richard Bacon, environmental campaigner George Monbiot and Professor Tom Burke, advocate of technical development. AYAAN HIRSI ALI We'll be reporting on the amazing story of the high profile Somali born Islamic politician, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, after a Dutch documentary revealed she had lied about her name, age and background. Steve Smith tries to find out who she really is. HOLD THE FRONT PAGE? What's the most memorable newspaper front page of the past one hundred years? As regular viewers will know, Newsnight's teamed up with The British Library to carry out a poll to find the answer. THIS I CAN DEAL WITH. contractive arguments for problems that exist. Is Somaliland at the End of the Road?..A Letter From London But what are these political hiccups? I am not sure there is a soul who identifies with Somaliland who will not acknowledge the spread of these perversities. They include endemic corruption; naked harassment of the media; complete absence of policy (meaningful or otherwise!); unprecedented mass addiction to khat and nicotine; political inertia that partly stems from miss-governance and leadership in absentia. In short Somaliland seems to be lost in grave darkness. Either the light is slowly but systematically being extinguished or a projected façade of determination is fast being uncovered. Either way, Somaliland’s case is crumbling from within. Who is to blame for this disarray? Should we put the blame squarely on the desk of the current government whose preoccupation seems to be harassing the media and issuing baseless promises or should we skin the sadistic political dramatists who are undertaking laughable and sad charades to convince the public of that they are doing serious jobs? Or should we blame the mass addiction of Somalilanders to khat which seem to have reduced all and sundry to walking oblivious zombies whose only pre-occupation is getting the green twigs and dwelling in fantasy world? Or rather should we turn our fury to the political party leadership that is experimenting with leadership by email? Irrespective of who is to blame, the State of Somaliland as we stand is in dire strait. Huge chunk of its territory is in foreign occupation and its resources squandered in broad day light; majority of her citizenry are seriously addicted to khat, caught in a web of corrupt ineffective governance and unending poverty. Her leadership is either conducting sadistic charades or engaged in meaningless debates. Her Diaspora is slowly fading both in terms of relevance and as source of alternative leadership. Her government is ruling in policy vacuum and seems to be content with its increasingly draconian tactics or wondering around the world in meaningless and at time suspect capital cities. A casual look at all sectors reveal miss-governance by either commission or omission. Sixteen years on and we are yet to develop the required educational system that could have trained the acutely needed teachers, nurse, mechanics, accountants, legal technicians and what have you. Every single department is crying for capacity development, organizational restructuring and policy framework. Instead we have had subsequent administrations that seem preoccupied with politics rather than development; semblance rather than substance; numbers rather than quality; foreign matter rather than internal issues. We are yet to put basic administrative structure in large parts of the country; Tax system is anything but a system worth the name, the budgetary process looks like a presidential book-keeping and general economic and fiscal policies have remains in their primordial state. The citizens are hungry for appropriate education, jobs, healthcare that seem to have been left till external support is gained. source: http://www.jamhuuriya.info/index.php?art_id=4293&categ=2&expand=2/&file=view_article.tp

Castor maybe you did not understand what i am shouting over here. I don't see an US and Them sitution. It is more complicated than that, Nor do i think is it a pressing issue. But that does nto mean that people can insult my eyes with rubbish posts such as this which are nothing more than provoCAtion. Balance needs to be maintained in all aspects. I call it as I see it. I don't think your first post was calling it as you saw it.

A truce is being sought by some Somali elders The US and UN have joined calls for a ceasefire in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, following six days of bitter fighting between rival militias. A number of Somali clan elders have been trying to broker a truce. At least 12 people died on Friday. The Red Cross says 80 have been killed this week, while some militia sources say the figure is at least twice that. An Islamist militia is fighting an alliance of warlords it says is backed by the United States. The UN says the Islamists now control 80% of the capital. UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan urged all sides to put down their weapons. A group of clan elders has been mediating with militia leaders to try to bring about a ceasefire. Mediator Sheikh Mohamud Ibrahim Jumale said: "Elders are making last efforts to end the hostilities but the two sides have yet to agree." The warlords were demanding the Islamists withdraw as a precondition, he said. Residents have been forced to flee or hide in storm drains amid an almost constant barrage of mortar shells and gunfire. The fighting has been concentrated in the CC district, where the clashes began on Sunday. BBC Africa editor David Bamford says the fighting began when warlords who had divided Mogadishu into fiefdoms united to tackle a growing Islamist force. He says the Islamists have managed to confine the four main warlords and their militias to separate pockets on the edges of the city. This has raised concern that Somalia's Islamists - if victorious - could end up providing an East African shelter for foreign Islamic militants, our correspondent says. The US has not confirmed or denied backing the warlords but says it would "work with responsible individuals... in fighting terror". Dr Sheikh don Salad Elmi, the director of Medina hospital in South Mogadishu, where many have been brought in with severe injuries, said the fighting was affecting up to 200,000 inhabitants. This is the second round of serious fighting in Mogadishu this year. In March, clashes between the two sides killed at least 90 people. madness. What happen to Islam as a peaceful religion! sources: BBC

^ I didn't mean to offend. I find this whole Somaliland discussion tasteless. And I also find my involvement in it even more tasteless. I'll let you all enjoy your mud slinging. And to be honest with you, I actually used that same line of yours elsewhere. The one about the viable state. Now the question I ask myself is why was it good enough for me and not for you? As you were. sounds like some soul searching is called for. In other threads you seemed unaffected and uninterested, hence my surprise before your “nevermindâ€. i have no desire to enjoy mudslining of any sorts! this topic is Exhausted And over discussed. In any case Some people are simply too old to take sides...

All of it.. i read your "nevermind" after i posted. ~The truth is I did mind, and i deeply resent your comments  since you have read my comments, i shall remove them simply because it leads to areas i do not want to head to...
