  4. OG-Moti afkaaga Caano iyo cambuulo lagu qabay sxb. Although age does matter, we all need to keep in mind something call "CALAF"..The biggest disparity between couples with a significant age difference, however, tends to come during the senior years, when, as an 80-year-old, your husband might be frail or incapacitated, while you would be vital and active at 60 na'mean..lol tell da truth ya all aight.. On the other hand, age does make a difference cuz some of us fellow Nomads like to mentor younger women and like being "elder statesman"..u know just like OG-Moti and Co...lol On the other side some of our young women enjoy having someone taking care or perhaps attracted to some older guy's accomplishment and ignore the age thin na'mean. As you some of you indicated, just cuz someone is older doesn't mean he/she's smarter and this could be a dissadvantage for both parties. What matters the most should be if you two share such things as goals,views...etc..na'mean. tha's my kumi iyo taano.

  8. My own awoowe Garaad Saleebaan, the most influential elder in Puntland speaks about the PL/SL war and the false borders of Somaliland na'mean. "The people of Somaliland have been misguided. They really don't understand the true meaning of borders. The true borders in Somalia are tribal borders. Even the British and Italians knew these tribal borders and gave them more clarifications. The SL soldiers are within 150 miles of our tribal borders. They know that. We don't want to be part of Somaliland. I urge them to stop attacking our land and go back to their tribal borders and leave us alone. No tribe in Somalia can rule and enslave another tribe. That story never worked. We are part of Puntland and we are part of Somalia. We have our own administration. " ----- GARAAD SALEEBAAN Listen to a more detailed interview here na'mean. Garaad Saleebaan

  10. Lately I've been trying hard to stay awake for laylatul Qadr past few nights and the rest of Ramadan. and want to share with you this. Adapted from "The Night Prayers: Qiyam & Tarawih from works by Muhammad Nasir ud-Deen al-Albani (and other scholars)" Compiled by Muhammad al-Jibali, © 1997 QSS Laylat ul-Qadr is the most blessed night. A person who misses it has indeed missed a great amount of good. If a believing person is zealous to obey his Lord and increase the good deeds in his record, he should strive to encounter this night and to pass it in worship and obedience. If this is facilitated for him, all of his previous sins will be forgiven. Praying Qiyaam It is recommended to make a long Qiyaam prayer during the nights on which Laylat ul-Qadr could fall. This is indicated in many hadeeths, such as the following: Abu Tharr (radhiallahu `anhu) relates: "We fasted with Allah's Messenger (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) in Ramadaan. He did not lead us (in qiyaam) at all until there were seven (nights of Ramadaan) left. Then he stood with us (that night - in prayer) until one third of the night had passed. He did not pray with us on the sixth. On the fifth night, he prayed with us until half of the night had passed. So we said, 'Allah's Messenger! Wouldn't you pray with us the whole night?' He replied: 'Whoever stands in prayer with the imaam until he (the imaam) concludes the prayer, it is recorded for him that he prayed the whole night.'…" [Recorded by Ibn Abi Shaybah, Abu Dawud, at-Tirmithi (who authenticated it), an-Nasa'i, Ibn Majah, at-Tahawi (in Sharhu Ma`an il-Athar, Ibn Nasr, al-Faryabi, and al-Bayhaqi. Their isnad is authentic.] [Point of benefit: Abu Dawud mentioned: "I heard Ahmad being asked, 'Do you like for a man to pray with the people or by himself during Ramadan?' He replied, 'Pray with the people' I also heard him say, 'I would prefer for one to pray (qiyaam) with the imaam and to pray witr with him as well, for the Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said: When a man prays with the imaam until he concludes, it is recorded that he prayed the rest of that night. [Masaa'il]] Abu Hurayrah (radhiallahu `anhu) narrated that the Messenger (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said: "Whoever stands (in qiyaam) in Laylat ul-Qadr [and it is facilitated for him] out of faith and expectation (of Allah's reward), will have all of his previous sins forgiven." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim; the addition and it is facilitated for him is recorded by Ahmad from the report of `Ubaadah Bin as-Samit; it means that he is permitted to be among the sincere worshippers during that blessed night.] Making Supplications It is also recommended to make extensive supplication on this night. `A'ishah (radhiallahu `anha) reported that she asked Allah's Messenger (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam), "O Messenger of Allah! If I knew which night is Laylat ul-Qadr, what should I say during it?" And he instructed her to say: "Allahumma innaka `afuwwun tuh.ibbul `afwa fa`fu `annee - O Allah! You are forgiving, and you love forgiveness. So forgive me." [Recorded by Ahmad, Ibn Majah, and at-Tirmithi. Verified to be authentic by Al-Albani] Abandoning Worldly Pleasures for the Sake of Worship It is further recommended to spend more time in worship during the nights on which Laylat ul-Qadr is likely to be. This calls for abandoning many worldly pleasures in order to secure the time and thoughts solely for worshipping Allah. `A'ishah (radhiallahu `anha) reported: "When the (last) ten started, the Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) would tighten his izaar (i.e. he stayed away from his wives in order to have more time for worship), spend the whole night awake (in prayer), and wake up his family." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim] And she said: "Allah's Messenger (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) used to exert more (in worship) on the last ten than on other nights." [Muslim]

Which of these teams looks to be the Super Bowl front-runner? Atlanta Indianapolis Minnesota New England Philadelphia Pittsburgh San Diego Wiilo, I don't know why u got San Diego and Atlanta on the list..at least in my opinion those don't belong to be a super bowl runners. New England Patriots are the only complete team, on offense and defense so they are the team to beat and will be in the big game if not to the Division finals. P.S. Although I’m Vikings fan, I still have some hope on them. I told ya about the Steelers/Eagles game…and I’m wining like whoo on my Fantasy Football. 20. Nov 2nd has arrived finally. Although I've been voting on/off for the past few elections, I decided not fritter away this year. As many Nomads said, these two, Dubya and Kerry, are similar when it comes foreign policy but may perhaps differentiate domestically so I had to vote for one. There were fewer than hundred ppl in my area where I voted and plus who cares if the line is long, I get few hours off from work to vote. OG gal, Inaa Lilah Wa Ina Ilayhi Raajicuun, I haven't heard that but it's sad, although Im not familiar with that Sheikh, I've heard he's being good to Somalis in UAE. Ilaah Ha u naxariisto. Free at last from those “I’m so on and so on, and I approve this message†Speaking of this, I heard Osama also said at the end of his new video “Im Osama Bin Laden, and I approve this threat messageâ€..lol.

  22. Here's what took place for those of you who have no idea why our bro/sis did the strike..enjoy Somalis, claiming discrimination, walk off job at phone company Associated Press CHANHASSEN, Minn. - Several Somalis walked off their jobs at a cell phone company here to protest alleged ethnic slurs, religious insensitivity and hiring discrimination. About 100 Somalis protested outside Teleplan Wireless Co. on Friday. Almost twice that number reportedly walked off their jobs Monday, though some have returned to work. The rest rejected a company offer to settle on Wednesday and said they will begin to consider contacting labor unions this weekend. The company, which assembles and refurbishes cell phones, released a statement Friday denying any discrimination. Abdilatif Osman, a tech assistant at Teleplan, said the trouble started a week ago. He and a co-worker complained that the company hired several white people instead of converting some Somalis from temporary to permanent status who'd been there for years. Permanent jobs bring health benefits and sometimes raises beyond the typical temp salary of $10 an hour. When the two came back to work Monday, they were ordered to get into a company van. That frightened them, and that's what provoked the walkout, Osman said. Aden Owoowe, a tech assistant at the company, said about 10 percent of the first shift and 80 percent of the second shift at Chanhassen is Somali. The site has about 700 employees. He said managers have insulted Somalis, telling them that if they don't do a good job, the men will find themselves stuck working at car washes and the women at saloons, Owoowe said. A few months ago, said Omar Jamal, director of the Somali Justice Advocacy Center, workers came to him complaining that a manager had called them "terrorist sympathizers" and told them, "You don't belong is this country." He met with company officials, he said, and later was told that the manager was fired. Another complaint involves accommodating Muslim prayer needs, Jamal said. Workers must pass through a security check on the way to and from the prayer room and, especially on the second shift, their 15-minute work break isn't long enough to allow everyone to get through. The statement from Teleplan said the company has no record of any complaint filed about a manager slurring Somali workers. It said the company has no policy of converting temporary workers to permanent status based on the number of hours worked. It denies any discrimination, saying that most of the workers who are converted are of some minority group. The company said the policy that everyone must pass through the security point when they leave the production floor is a standard precaution expected by their customers. Attorney Peter Erlinder, a consultant with the Somali center, said the company settlement promised no retaliation against the workers, offered them pay for one of the three days off work and agreed to the group's request to divide the prayer room by gender. At a meeting, the workers rejected the offer because it didn't resolve the hiring conflict. ---
  23. He's Baack... Bin Laden threatens new attacks Arabic TV station al-Jazeera has broadcast a videotape featuring Osama Bin Laden, in which he threatens new attacks on the US. The al-Qaeda leader accused President George W Bush of deceiving the American people in the years since the 11 September 2001 attacks. He compared the Bush administration to what he termed corrupt Arab regimes. The development comes as US voters prepare to go to the polls on Tuesday in the presidential election. Bin Laden said he first thought of attacking the US after the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982. He said the attacks on the US would have been less severe if President Bush had been more alert. The reasons are still there to repeat what happened Osama Bin Laden But he added that the security of the American people depended neither on Mr Bush nor on his challenger, John Kerry, but on US policy. Clearest admission "Despite entering the fourth year after 11 September, Bush is still deceiving you and hiding the truth from you and therefore the reasons are still there to repeat what happened," he said. Correspondents describe Bin Laden's remarks in the video as the clearest admission yet that he was behind the 2001 attacks on New York and Washington. It was not obvious when the video was recorded. A spokesman for al-Jazeera said the station received the tape early on Friday, but would not indicate how. This is the first new videotape of Bin Laden speaking to have surfaced since the US-led war in Afghanistan following the 11 September attacks. However, several audio messages believed to be from Bin Laden have emerged since then. The most recent, posted on a website known to be used by Islamist militants, strongly criticised the US and coalition forces in Iraq and ordered a jihad, or holy war, against them
