This is good information and the fact that a lot of Somalis believe in it makes it something to continue forward. Wouldn't it be funny if the UAE or some part of them are group that went and settled from some part of Somalia? The Amhara are in turmoil since some professor told them there is no group or people that can be traced ancestry wise to be Amhara like Afar, Tigre, Agew..etc Amhara is a collection of soldiers of some kingdom that settled on territory they captured and intermarried with all sorts of people in their way. Their looks is so different it lends credence to this. The one thing that can visually be proven is that the Somali in general have some mix or source of Indian, the Stans, Persian..and Africa. Its very difficult when writing system was not established. The Persians and Chinese may have most knowledge since have writing and had empires at different times in antiquity and have traveled to Somalia.

You are in the minority who can say it like it is. It is very easy, but will never be allowed and the Xabeshi keep it secret as well, otherwise the Habeshi have graves of about 4 close siblings and cousins. Since they had written books and documents from those times and have names of most of the first group would be easy to trace. There is Xabeshi families that have documented part of their leanage for thousand years by names and times of kings and travels of religious greats. Most of the Somali actually may end up being the same as Xabeshi in roots. The fact that always competed one to rule over the other shows knew each other for long centuries. Names of Sultanates of Somalis are known to Xabeshi and also the other way. Jeberti BTW is a Tigray moslem. Has connection to Yemen, but so do Tigray. Many Yemen villages and villages in Tigray both Eritrea and Ethiopia have same names.

USA visit to Eritrea, Djibouti and Ethiopia
Old_Observer replied to Old_Observer's topic in Politics
What you think might happen is already in the works: 1. How to bring Eritrea out of the cold and use it against Sudan which the Eritrean dictator will be more than happy to serve 2. How to use Eritrea to bring peacekeepers to Eritrea Djibouti border which the Eritrean dictator is itching to do There is already talk of some negotiation with new Ethiopian government which is "free" of those pesky Tigray that refuse to be tool of punishing Ghelleh or Al Bashir even with sack of money. Since America has to have a Tigray might choose the Eritrean Tigray who is absolute dictator and more amenable and more useful when doing thins in secret. Mogadishu I am afraid will get short ended for no reason or fault of its own, but the alignment of the stars. Mr. Ghelleh seems also a bit disappointed at Mogadishu. -
Sorry to disappoint you my friend, but this statement/slogan is already taken, unless you think the man is Oromo by heritage and thus close to you. lol His name is Beniam Kebede and his news outfit is ehtiopiafirst. Thank you BTW very informative and stating honnestly it is an opinion of an individual. Advice him to be economical on his views about regions. And come down to reality about Mogadishu.
-
This is derogatory. To be expected from someone who wants nothing other than unitary government run from Mogadishu, but as you put it in your question, one who cannot control even Mugadisho. It means there is same discussions and arguments in Mogadishu as there were in Addis Ababab 20 years ago. Of course those in Mugadishu would do what they can for HiirShebele or other regions not to be strong since they will take the 4.5 and be the decision makers rather than those of their kins in Mogadishu. This is pure interest.

Houthi leader "condemns" UAE for meddling in Somalia's affairs
Old_Observer replied to Deeq A.'s topic in Politics
Now you are really down to the barrel. Counting on Houthis to get at Somaliland. Not good not ambitious not confident. You think Somaliland will come running for help to Mogadishu and will have one united, happy Somalia thanks to the Houthis? Do you forget that the Houthis at the end of the day would not mind UAE and the Southern separatists? Its the Saudis keeping 2 provinces of Yemen and also trying to keep Houthis down by a greater Yemen that are enemy number 1. -
These British are amazing. Kicked evrybody else in Mogadishu and now own the place. There is some false hope here or wishful thinking. There is nothing more Puntland will demand than regional states. If you listened to an Amhara observer in the 90s in Ethiopia he would have told you same words. He would have said except for Tigray the rest are only on paper. Yet 20 years later even the Somali who was least expected by the Amhara to stay in a state let alone manage it, has become one of the strongest. The Afar nomad who did not have a single school in all of the state, is now self governing, with educated part of the population and very strong autonomous region. The Oromo that did not exist then is now strongest region.

Houthi leader "condemns" UAE for meddling in Somalia's affairs
Old_Observer replied to Deeq A.'s topic in Politics
There is something called "I did not and I do not do it for you". If some Somali politician uses Qatar to undermine his competition, and his competition used UAE. They are both the same, but what they do not tell you is that UAE tells one set of politicians I am not doing this for you, I am doing it for myself and Qatar tells the other set I am not doing this for you, I do it for my self if you want to risk your skin and join for some left overs be my guest. Ghelleh and most Ethiopians except Amhara groups never loose sight of this truth. Mogadishu is playing this cry overmilking and killing the cow or camel in Somali speak. -
USA visit to Eritrea, Djibouti and Ethiopia
Old_Observer replied to Old_Observer's topic in Politics
The only man who completely out manouvered, outplayed and defeated the Eritrean dictator is Mr. Ghelleh your dear neighbor, brother, but a DON none the less. This Eritrean dictator was inside a US base in 1970 unbeknownth to the Ethiopian government brought in by diplomatic flaged vehicle from the bushes he was fighting the Ethiopians from to a meeting in the US base and returned to the bushes. As long as he has Israel as protector even USA can be undiplomatic to him, but is untouchable. He knows this and just like in Somalia he tells his people he is enemy of America and worst yet they believe him and many even parrot him. My heart, my money, my dream is with Ghelleh. Hopefully the Ethiopian government will be firm on this, even if I do not expect them to cry or make announcement on anything. Ghelleh should fast like yesterday find a way to have a modus vivendi with the UAE Somaliland issue. If there are losses, just cut from further loss and move on. When one is caught in Super powers gardens, the worst thing to have is unhappy or even worst determined brother that through no fault of yours has competing interest. -

This UAE issue will be as Illey would say: 'This cry is for more than a goat". Very dangerous issue and maybe getting time, attention more than its worth. Every politician wants to use it as ladder to undermine his competition. -
USA visit to Eritrea, Djibouti and Ethiopia
Old_Observer replied to Old_Observer's topic in Politics
That is corect and been in the works and lobby houses in US for some time. There is a man by the name of Mr. Cohen who has been working on this for like forever and seems has succeeded. He wanted to do it with Amhara rather than Oromo, but that is small potatoes for him as long as their man in Eritrea survives. -
USA visit to Eritrea, Djibouti and Ethiopia
Old_Observer replied to Old_Observer's topic in Politics
There is nothing Somalilander would love to see than Ghelleh being read to the riot act. lol But both of you will survive this and continue your ways. It is not going to be death of one of you and life to the other. You also will need China at some point, since its the one that has money and a plan that is economic more than military or security. -

Looks like it. Especially with the changes happening in America. A CIA man in the state department is different than a Businessman in the state department. -
When the security issue was the primary issue of all Somalis, you would agree that whatever excess done was far worst on his origins than anyone else. That is a fact. Now the prevention of emergency food and health situations is highest priority Development projects is second highest Which areas are greatest risk of food shortage, draught etc? What is the economic plan of the state for development? Why are we singling out one and jackstaposing it to another one in the attack against Illey is not right approach to solve problems constructively. What basic infrastructure example education, health has been built unfairly favouring his clan than the other clan in question?
-
galbeedi is consstent. He might just faign left or right sometimes, but very consistent in the following: 1. Against Somaliland 2. Against Kilil 3. Against Djibouti Against everybody except some undeclared unofficial group or clan that has interest between Somali and Oromo. The fact that our galbeedi never misses an oportunity including misquaotes, no quotes atrributing to Ghelleh, Illey, Bixi speaks clearly that our galbeedi needs to come in the open and declare his shindig. The tendency that he would rather go to Addis Ababa than Mogadishu to accomplish his dreams tells me something.

Mr. Yammamoto is undersecretary of State for Africa. He was Ambassador of USA in Ethiopia around 2006. Why not visiting Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan is mystery. With the changes in Ethiopia, America maybe back to allying Eritrea and Ethiopia against Sudan and Djibouti. __________________________________________________________________________ Eritrea, Djibouti, Ethiopia hosts top U.S. diplomat on East Africa tour Sunday April 22, 2018 By Abdur Rahman Alfa Shaban The United States Department of State on Saturday announced that a top official on African Affairs was due to tour three East African countries between April 22 – April 26. Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for African Affairs Ambassador Donald Y. Yamamoto will start off his tour in Eritrea, head to Djibouti and round off his activities in Ethiopia. He arrives in Eritrea today (April 22) with the three-day working tour according to the Department of State centering on “bilateral consultations with Eritrean government officials, to meet with the diplomatic community, and to visit the Embassy’s staff based in Asmara. “He will then lead the U.S. delegation to the U.S.-Djibouti Binational Forum April 24-25 in Djibouti, our annual dialogue on matters of political, economic, assistance, and security cooperation,” the statement added. Ambassador Yamamoto’s last stop will be in Ethiopia on April 26 where he is expected to meet with Ethiopian government officials to discuss shared interests and concerns. The Horn of Africa region has been one that has continually engaged the attention of the United States. Its relation with Ethiopia has largely been premised on anti-terrorism combat and need for democratic reforms. Eritrea, meanwhile, continues to slam the United Nationa Security Council and the United States in particular for the refusal to lift sanctions on Asmara over their purported support for Somalia insurgent group, Al Shabaab. Djibouti on the other hand is seen as a key security ally of the West and other Asian giants, hosting a number of military bases. The U.S. also maintains special interest in Somalia where they continue to carry out air strikes against Al-Shabaab.

That is something everyone can support. Have joint study, joint plan, open and public no secret talks, no false propaganda. Trying to undermine the Somali thinking that the Oromo will get you -galbeedi- a better deal will prove to be the biggest blunder. The Oromo may have more representation than last year on the federal government, but the kilil structure and federalsim stays the same. Of all Ethiopia its only half of Amhara that do not want the federal and regional system. The Oromo actually cannot survive without the federal system and regional structure. I know its federal government responsibility to deal with foreign countries, but Ethiopia cannot deal with Somalia ignoring her own Somali population, cannot deal with Eritrea ignoring Afar-Tigray, cannot deal with Sudan ignoring Tigray-Benshangul Gumuz and Amhara kilils. The Somali sabotaging each other in favour of somebody else is waning and almost dead politics in the kilil.

Update on Ethiopia: Pariament, Regional States, new cabinet etc.
Old_Observer replied to Old_Observer's topic in Politics
I still did not see anything to show Khyre has gone there. Would be useful to meet Al Bashir who is making transition of his relations from UAE Saudi camp to Qatar turkey camp. Sudan also offers scholarships to Somalis Sudan also was one of the countries who could have sent a battalion or two to Somalia together with Djibouti, but some politicians from Somalia scuttled the plan preferring Uganda, Brundi. -
I agree to the fact finding part. The Egyptians can play with falsehoods and untruths for propaganda, but the Somalis should not even consider playing the same cruel and inhuman Egyptian tactics. Ethiopia is very responsible country and here in particular its the same people, in some parts same clans on both sides. Filling a dam is simplest thing for people with good intentions and have moral strength to speak truth.

Are you graduate of one of George Soros institute? It is a joke based on an Egyptian professor's musings. The professor came up with many plans from paralyzing and killing Ethiopia to settling 2 million Egyptian farmers in Somalia. The president of first TFG agreed to this joke, making him first Somali to agree for Egyptian interest before and against Somalia interest. Can you provide a link? How come you wote He said and put something the man would never say and no quote. Typical George Soros activist training. Using false and a lie which can slip in the topic. This is not good and never for good by man or Allah(swt). Win an argument by truth to the best you can. Illey will never ever say "dying Somalis". Of course his primary responsibility is the region he administers, but has no illusion like some in Mogadishu and our galbeedi here to hurt other Somalis in other countries or territories. You see, you are again peddling untruth this time knowingly and intentionally. The Egyptians followed this method for 60 years and they succeeded for 50 of those, look what it got them. Instead of falsely accusing your brother, why not ask Mogadishu if they can make concrete plans based on scientific studies. Filling a dam should never be a problem you need to go to war r even an argument. Just have common plan and be honest and tell your side instead of lies and inuendos like Egyptians.

Prime minister Khyere has been invited to the Tana Forum. Most likely will attend. Hopefully makes good impression with Al Bashir of Sudan and earn few more scholarships and a bit of help for the military. -
Is the Arab League trying to isolate Farmaajo's goverment?
Old_Observer replied to Dahireeto's topic in Politics
There is one reminder to Somalis, Ethiopians and others. Even the Scottish who were major part of the British Empire, who almost lost language in favour of English..still 300 years want to be separate. BTW since Gen. Morgan is lucky enough to live long and unfortunate enough to fight every corner of Somalia, has learned few things that has made some profound change on the man. -
With Abiy Ahmed a new era of Oromo rule in Ethiopia has started
Old_Observer replied to galbeedi's topic in Politics
galbeedi, If you get time get your Amhara or Oromo friends to translate/interpret for you what Abiy said and told the Amhara region folks in Gonder and Bahirdar (Jigjiga of Amhara). Now he becomes Meles Zenawi II. Started telling people even things they don't like to hear, but only truth and only way of moving forward. "I appreciate your enthusiastic way of declaring Ethiopian unity, oneness of Ethiopia, greatness of Ethiopia..etc, but you need to respect others as well that do not have such enthusiasm for the past. If you disrespect others past, don't expect others to sing the same" When they complained bitterly that the Amhara has suffered in Oromia the most, killed, expelled and cannot use his language in state government, he told them, if you take me only as an Oromo you still are missing the thing. Half of them broke in laughter how stupid the question was. -
Somali Government takes over UAE training base
Old_Observer replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
Che, Can we take break from UAE staff. I wish they had waited removing the picture of the UAE Bedew for some days. Looks personal and trivial, but considering the Bedew conduct bad. Somalia needs to move on to some other issue and not tit for tat everyday about UAE.
