I have seen some video about Oromo youth carrying the body of the slain singer and they were peacefully marching. Abiy is doing what the TPLF did between 2015-2017 by shooting to kill the protesting Oromo youth. The preacher might have got some calm before the storm. June 30, 2020 OMN announced that Federal Police had arrested Jawar Mohammed on Tuesday. The media, whose owner is Jawar Mohammed himself who was linked to the killings of 86 people in October 2019, claimed that there was a clash between the Federal Police and Oromia region Security forces, as reported by DW Amharic service on Tuesday. However, OMN did not say details regarding casualties on both sides. It claimed that Federal Police members had to get reinforcements to make the arrest. Bekele Gerba, who is among the senior leadership of Oromo Federalist Party, is also arrested along with Jawar Mohammed. The location of their arrest is undisclosed. Jawar joined the political party last December the legality of which was questioned by the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia on grounds of Jawar’s U.S. citizenship. The arrest came a day after prominent Ethiopian singer Hachalu Hundessa was assassinated in the capital Addis Ababa in the locality of Gelan Condominiums. Police said on Tuesday that he was killed after he got into his car. However, Police did not disclose information about the identities of the killed although it has confirmed that it has arrested some suspects. Hachalu was interviewed by OMN a few days before he was murdered, and there was apparent coordination on the part of those who plotted the killing to make his death appear as if it is linked to the remarks he made over the Emperor Menelik. Oromia Regional State president, Shimeles Abdissa, said on Tuesday that the killing was an orchestrated one and was intended to bring about chaos in the country. He pointed fingers to Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) leaders and other political forces who he said were hired mercenaries. Speaking with breaking voices out of grief, Shimeles also said that political entities that are combining peaceful and armed struggle are involved in the campaign to reverse the reform measures in the country. Lencho Bati, a prominent Oromo activist, and politician who is said to work as an adviser to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s government said the killing TPLF and Egypt are likely to be behind the killing. But it was executed through the agency of mercenaries hired from the Oromo community, he added.

I agree. Puntland had prime minister as a house Nigger who was based in Mogadishu. I do believe that in early 2009-2012, the whole federal government was, Puntland, Shhariif Ahmed and Shariif Hassan, they would have created Sool and Sanaag if they pushed, but chose to follow the HAG on these issues. Even Hassan Sheikh abandoned Sool and Sanaag getting their own MPs because of the pressure from Puntland and Somaliland. At the moment, Farmaajo is serving the interest of Mogadishu based groups.He will be judged how these regions fared at the end of his mandate.

The constitution will be " La jiifiyaana Banaan". It is illegal to give 13 To Mogadishu without basing any constitutional means. The provisional parliament says the upper house should be 54 based on 18 provinces. Some regions who are one and half provinces like Galmudug took 8 seats. They should have gotten 4 or maximum 5. At the end this amalgamation of regions must be abolished and the federal system should be based on the original 18 provinces. I would even suggest the abolishing of the Upper House. Somalia needs one single parliament and the executive branch. Yet, at the moment, Puntland seems to be isolated politically. It is on the verge of loosing Sool and Sanaag community for good; it doesn't have good relations with South west and Hiiraan, and by pandering to Banaadir seats Farmaajo is allying himself to the " Unaka and company. Also , in terms of constitution, it is only Puntland that is safeguarding and forcing the federal government to obey. Under C/raxman Faroole, Puntland decided to abandon Sool and concentrate to federal politics only. If Puntland had decided early the establishment of Sool and Sanaag as a self standing entity, it might have created a real ally and powerful region that by default could have eliminated separatists in Somaliland. Without Sool and Sanaag Somaliland could have been reduced as a small region of Dirta woqooyi. Instead they have concentrated obtaining authority to appoint the Sool region members of Parliament to Mogadishu. I think Puntland should self examine and change the course. Few weeks ago C/laahi DEni was praising Somaliland at the expense of Farmaajo and last week he was complaining about the fake Djibouti conference. The time has come for Puntland to build real allies and concentrate for those who share their Pan-Somalism and those who stand by the constitution. Also, Farmaajo and company are weak links when it comes to HAG agenda. While he had moved the needle on the federal government and the nation, his administration has not strengthened anyone from JUbba, Sool, Awdal, Sanaag, Puntland, Gedo and others.

I am not denying the peace building efforts of Somaliland. For me Ceel Afweyn is an orchestrated tribal and political war, yet as you said , it is very small in scale of things. Southern Somalia is much bigger not only in terms of population and geography, but also large mix of tribes while in the north there are three or four groups. Also, what is at stake in Mogadishi and Somalia is much bigger in the eyes of the world and Somalia around the world and the region.. That doesn't mean Somaliland is insignificant , but stable Mogadishu will mean the conclusion of of the past.That is why America intervened in Mogadishu and not Hargeisa. The problems of the south is exasperated by Wahabi and religious politics combined by the schemes of our neighbors, the gulf boys and the west. It is the combinations of many things. Yet, I do believe most of the blame should go to the southern leaders who can not srr the big picture and make tough decisions.

In fact, after Caydiid and Cali Mahdi reconciled in late 1992 things were calming down before America intervened which targeted the most eligible man to lead Mohamed F. Caudiid. While everyone was talking about warlords in the nineties , trade and people moved from coast to coast.
