  1. For Sool, it is now or never.

All eyes and ears of the Somali people are tuned these days  to Laascaanood. Everyone is waiting the up coining conference of the Graads, Suldaans, elders, politicians of different stripes, scholars, civil society and members the diaspora. These community are the pioneers of the modern Somali state and nationalism. They were the founders of the oldest independent movement in black Africa at the end of nineteen century. Just little over hundred years ago they were fighting the British colonial forces aided by Indians, Swahili and Somalis in these Plaines of Taleex and Lasanod.

About two weeks ago, I was invited at  Khaatumo event to make a brief speech about the uprising in Lasanod and the massacre's of innocent protesters. I emphasized just two points. One was that how insane it is for the  grandchildren of the  freedom fighters of Somalia to be  fighting to remain free and Somali in 21st century which nothing but the reflection of the Somali state today, and the second point was that  the introduction of unrepentant warlords at the helm of Somaliland administration.

There is a anxiety and great expectations from this conference, yet no one can ignore who are the real players. When there is huge public uprising, the politicians are nothing more than a fish in a big ocean, yet due to money, greed and selfishness, disagreements among them could derail the outcome. Here, I am not talking about those the people of Laasanod call " Horgale" or paid stooges. Drunkards like Indho Indho or Saleebaan Koore don't have the prestige or the wisdom to resolve anything, they are there to entertain the man who hiding inside the Morgan house in Hargeisa.

The real players are Ahmed Karaash, the deputy president of Puntland  and the speaker of the Somaliland parliament Abdirahman Khaliif. There are tough decisions to be made and hard pills to swallow for the future of the community. THe Graads must breach the gabs between these two camps. THose from Puntland have great advantage in this contest. They could come from Garoowe accept the Khaatumo project and still reside in Garoowe among their kin without any thought of losing anything. They own 25% of Garoowe city, , but those from Hargeisa, it is the end of their titles and the whole project. The weakness of the Sool community to get behind one leader was apparent last time around when they chose three presidents instead of one. Ahmed Karash has 11 months left of his term within Puntland elections which due in January 2024, thus he could be persuaded to accept the project. For Hargeisa the the stakes are high.

Don't make any hasty decisions. In 1991, in Burco while Abdirahman Tuur was waiting his delegation from Mogadishu, armed gun men led probably by Calan Cas put gun on everyone and forced to declare a secession that wasn't endorsed by the leadership. After 32 years that project hasn't gone anywhere.

If I were an adviser to the Khaatumo Garaads ,here what  I would have suggested:

1- Rather than declare full fledged " Maamul", it would be prudent to proclaim a temporary caretaker administration.

2-  Assign  for the Garaads to pick the future members of the Khaatumo parliament.

3-Pick and choose the date of the convention to elect the leader by the parliament.

4- make sure the care taker leader shouldn't be among those running to succeed him.

5-Negotiate with the Somaliland Maamul to withdraw 30km from Laascaanood immediately.

Muuse Biixi must resign for Somaliland to remain viable for the future.

There is probably zero chance to get out of these mess. THere are no elders he could send to resolve Laascaanood or any diplomatic means to talk to anyone. His two main people at the table are Mohamed Kahin and Cali Koore, two people hated by both the Sool community and the majority of Somaliland people. THey took $1.5 million dollars the first week of the uprising, but quickly realized that bribes and buying will not resolve this time around. He is in rock and hard place or as they say dump if you do or don't. Having already killed protesters in both Hargeisa and Buroa and in Laaacaanood , he can't repeat again that or he will face a war crime tribunal. After defeating the hapless opposition led by the weak man called Abdirahman Cirro, by suppressing the the Hargeisa demonstration by bullets and then extending his term with two more years without the blessing of the opposition, Muuse thought he could be another Cumar Geelle in these part of Somalia.

So, what is the next move?

THere is no honor among thieves . Rather build state and functioning institution, the SNM Habro politicians decided to loot and build clan hegemony. A small clan surrounding west of Hargeisa decided to ride Muuse Biixi and swallow more than they could chew, and forgot that in a clan inspired project, one must always try to maintain the fragile social contract and not tip the balance. The Khaatumo project will probably damage the Hargeisa project for good or even end it if new solutions are not found.

My solution are tough for the eco chambers who always say " Way duushay" it is flying high.

No  one is willing to talk to Muuse Biixi at the moment, and most people in Somaliland even want him to fail  yet,   there are solutions.

    The great poet Gaariye said:

    Markuu Buuxay Doobigu

    Nin Danaystay Keligii

    Markuu Daatay Kula Dhimo

    Dhago Uma Daloolaan.

First, Muuse must resign for the well being of the people. His deputy Abdirahman Zaylici should take over and prepare for inclusive elections within six months.

The so called constitution should be amended by the parliament by abolishing the three party monopoly and allow everyone to run for president. Let the winner of this election forge a new beginning including peaceful separation of KHaatumo from Somaliland. Since the separatist's project will be dead in the water after the formation of Khaatumo, the new leader must create a totally different future without paranoia, hate of the blue flag and antagonism against their brethren in Somalia. We know that everything based or formed with emotions will not last after reality hits. THe Somaliland future doesn't need a man who is afraid of the old guard, you need someone who could lead and stand up to the losers who were thrown from the system in 1993.

These " Calan Cas", as they were called in Hargeisa, forgot that the main reason Somalilans succeeded in peace was because we sidelined the warmongers and warlords in 1993 in Borama. Cigaal came and build the system, Faisal Waraabe, despite his loud mouth contributed to the peace. Furthermore, Rayaale, a humble and decent man came and ruled justly which attracted Reer Sool to leave Puntland and join the project in 2007. Ahmed Siilaanyo was an experienced elder, but stroke had stolen his capacity to rule yet he tried to incorporate his old friend, the late Ali Khallif. Without Ahmed Siilaanyo these misfits wouldn't had any chance. No one in Southern Somalia will accept today a former warlord who participated in clan wars to lead the land.

The Fat man of Djibouti must stay out of this.

OMar  Geelle was flying under the radar from most Somalis, except those of us who know him. He is a very sensitive man who can't take even mild criticism from Southern Somalis. In Hargeisa, you could be arrested if you criticize him, and in the south he bribes most of the Somali news outlets including Hiiraan Online, Universal TV and others.

Last week, he called Ahmed Madoobe, who is becoming a seasoned politician these days. Unconfirmed reports indicate that Geelle wants to keep together the coalition that defeated Farmaajo intact including C/laahi Deni.  That doesn't mean Deni is being offered the top job, but Geelle knows,  that hand shake summit in Djibouti,  which brought the criminal Saddiq John, Biixi and Hassan Sheikh has left sour note among many Somalis who are unionists. When he was greeted in Mogadishu to open a fake academy, Deni snubbed him and remained in his hotel. Since Geelle is fearful being exposed he is working overtime to placate Puntland and others. While Somali leader don't care about their clans or others , they usually use them to reach the power.  in politics,  optics and perceptions could mean something. Some might even say that the Laascaanood uprising is a reaction of the Djibouti hand shake. The jury is still out what will Gelle offer to Puntland to bring them in the coalition.

Don't be surprised that in order to save Muuse Biixi, he might push HSM to replace Hamza Bear with someone close to Deni. Also, remember, Deni isn't alone. Ilhan Omar and the democratic party is helping HSM to defeat Al-shbaab thanks mostly to the American support in the sky through drones. Hassan Turki, a former leader of Raaskaambooni once said that during the Ethiopian invasion of Soutern Somalia and the American air campaign, " we were unable to pee outside for four months because of drones in the sky", yet after few months Raaskaambooni guys were paying young men salary, food and logistics.  Geelle controls Jigjiga politics indirectly, Biixi and HSM are his boys, and he have to find ways to bring Puntland to the circle. So, Sool could be the card . IT was the TPLF that instructed successive Puntland leaders to leave Sool under Somaliland and in return they were given some diplomatic and and political cover which allowed them to challenge the federal government in Mogadishu.

Yesterday, police chief Hijaar was fired and was replaced by a former body guard of Bashiir Goobe. He is just another name given a fake title and a task he couldn't even understand let alone manage it. He was once accused and briefly arrested for being connected to Al-shbaab, but later it was confirmed that he he was an informer to foreign powers mostly Kenyan intelligence. He is also the maternal nephew of Ahmed madoobe which indicates that HSM is straightening the alliance with madoobe.

President HSM, please stop the ugly dithering and take your side,

He is speaking with both his mouth.  HE invited the Sool Graads to Mogadishu which is big no, yet as a water carrier for Omar Geelle he pushed as far as he could. Now he is talking like Oday Xaad.

" Dadka Somalinimo iyo midnimo doon ayaa naga dhexeeysa laakiin Garoowe, Hargeisa iyo Muqdishu midna laguma xali karo.

All he needs to say is let the people of Laascaanood choose their destiny. full stop. The more he opens his mouth, the worst he looks. I heard that he dispatched $5 million dollars through local Sool charity, and two weeks ago a well placed member of the Sool member of the federal parliament told us that HSM, Sheikh Addan Madoobe and premier Hamza had both accepted Khaatumo in a meeting. If that is the case, HSM is in great pressure and maybe trying to thread in fine line..

THis will be an interesting year. Our friend Oodweyne and hardliners will stick to their guns no matter what and will sink with the ship.

    • Thanks 1

    I totally agree.

He doesn't even talk and as you said keeps his cards hidden.. Could be the next leader.

    • Haha - That was funny. You made me laugh! 1

Jamal may have a grudge against Farmaajo, but I don't think he takes money to dish dirt on Farmaajo. It is a personal crusade - me thinks.

He should have used better language since he is at least a real journalists unlike many others.

Despite his vulgar language his report from Al-shbaab was accurate.

3 hours ago, baala xoofto said:

You cannot say the same to Amin Amir, one of the lowlifes in modern days.

Amiin Aamir never changed his reporting or cartoons since day one. In fact, he supported Farmaajo even before he became president. He new Farmaajo when they were young in Mogadishu 40 years ago, and unlike many Amin Amir always supports those who are weak, oppressed or wronged. Besides, Amin is one of the good guys, I know him personally.

  4. Actually, there is an audio from the Al-shbaab Amiir claiming that they can no longer hold western Hiiraan or central Somalia. He talks about the huge loss of the youth and he says , " surrender, regroup and procreate for the future children.

He also mentioned that they sent peace envoys to negotiate with president HSM who rejected.  According to this Amir, HSM  said, " Al-shabaab Waa Qoloma, Diintan cusub xagey ka keeneen, waa maxay sobobta ay ugu kooban Yihiin from Galmudug to Qooqaani in Jubba. The Amir also mentioned that this is his decision and its up to the Shuura council to change.

HSM is sending messages that the deployment of Al-shbaab to only south central Somalia is a political strategy used by both foreign powers and certain Somali regions including Puntland and Somaliland.

So, it is time for a hardline Amir to wreck the fertile south. If Sheikh Aadan Sunnah becomes the leader of Al=shabaab, that is the second time a man from Hargeisa takes the helm. Furthermore, just like Ahmed Godane before him, he was released from the prison and sent to South Somali to create havoc.

Sheikh Sunnah has called the Biixi regime to be apostate in his sermons, yet he goes to  Jilib for his war. Also since everything revolves around tribe in Hargeisa ,the Sheikh sent his elders to  asked Biixi to release him.  After a lot of pressure from the clan Muuse obliged.

Muuse : Waar ninkan hadaan siidaayo ma ammusayee, maxaynu Yeelaa?

Ahmed Dhagax community: Adeer ninkan Ahmed Godane Ina adeerkii weeyee, xagaa iyo koonfur ayuu u socdaaye is dhaafi..

Muuse: Hello waar ma boqor Buurmadaw baa?

Boqor Buurmadow: WAar Muuse waa anigee iska waran?

Muuse: Waar aniga iyo adiga hadal inagama dheexeeyee, sobobta aan telephonka kaaga qabtay waxa weeye in aan talo kaa weydiiyo Sheikh Addan Sunah oo qoladii Arabku igu wareerisay.

Buurmadow:  Waar Ilaahay baan kugu dhaarshee intuu Jeelkaa ku jiri lahaa maalin walbana oday kuu imanayo, ninkan Aadan Sunnah miyaad madaxweyne aan weligii lala rartamin ka dhigtid.

    Musse:  Adeer warka ii jilici.

Buurmadow.: Ina adeerkii Ahmed Godane toban sano ku dhawaad ayuu Amiir ahaa, koonfur iyo Waqooyiba duraiyadaa ka talinaysay, kanina wadadii buu marayaa oo waa Amiirka Al-shbaab ee soo socda dhawr billod ka dib.

Muuse: oo miyaanay Amiir lahayn xarakadu?

Buurmadow: waa waa nin D...r  ta  koonfur ah oo aan iska dhicin karin HAG iyo D, hase ahaatee ninkani waa nin mayal adag, waxii ka horyimaadana ka takhalusaya sidii Ahmed Godane.

Muuse:  waar armuu hawdka Hargeisa inta uu tago xer beesha ah soo urursadaa?

Buurmadow: waar aniga ku xilo furayee isaga iyo xaaska iyo caruurtaba koonfur u masaafuri.

    Muuse: Talada waan qaatay.

  5. It seems to be truce between the TPLF and the Abiy Ahmed regime, foe now. Yet, it seems Ethiopia is far from being stable or peaceful.

In fact, it seems that this Abiy guy could only survive through war and chaos. As we speak , Abiy and certain Oromo politicians had decided to move the war from the north and to the Somali region. This is a typical Amhara and Shawa Oromo strategy to weaken the Somali region through war. They attacked from multiple fronts. From Mooyaale in Liibaan region, Diredhabe, Baabili and few miles from Jigjiga in Gursum.

The Amhara security forces are shooting people in Jigjiga , at airports, banks and anywhere they encounter a Somali who raises their voice. THe facebook president is no where to be seen. The Liyu , who are an occupying force originally created to oppress Somalis, also shoot Somalis around the region just like the Amhara. The OG leadership had failed the Somali people time and again.

It is high time for a new Somali leadership in this region before things get worse.

People are demanding the abolition of the LIyu force in order for the people to defend themselves.

Here is on of those voices.

  6. I don't blame Deni for taking stand, although the timing is really bad.

HSM had a great opportunity to take sides on the Laascaanood issue, yet he spoke just like Suldaan Xaad from HAG council of elders. He lost an opportunity to be pro Somalia and the nationalist camp by just calling for calm like some minor tribal conflict in Hiiraan or Gedo.  HSM had shown to be only concerned with his policy of  building relationships with regional governments and the international community while ignoring issues of building trust among the people and building credible institutions.

The major reason HSM and premier Hamza are being supported by the Somali people today is the war they have taken to Al-shbaab , especially in Hiiraan and Sh. Dhexe. If they succeed on this everything else will be forgiven. Also, president HSM had asked the Somali people for support in his campaign against Al-shabaab.

The whole region of Puntland have one main minister (Foreign) who is invisible and no one the in the military, police or the security sector just like most of the people in the  South west, North west or  Lower Shabeelle. They saw how his policy and priority are managed by those of his clan, and finally, his stand on the Laascaanood issue had made him very weak president who can't take sides on national matter. I am not saying that C/laahi Deni cares more for Laascaanood than HSM, but he knows the feelings of the people on this issue. Also, as a politician who is on the ropes, this issue might resonate many people especially the Puntlanders who supported Farmaajo.

Furthermore, while the people of Puntland are strong advocates of Somaalinimo, their leaders were always acted like a deferent entity that had its own policy in terms of military , intelligence and other issues.

Hore waxaan u idhi, dalkan qolo waxay tidhi waan go'nay kuwa hadhayna ma joogaan.

Jubaland is here in name only while controlled by Kenya, SL had been claiming Waan Go'nay for 30 years with nothing but poverty, Puntland waa Maqanaha Jooga, Mogadishu is a mess. May Allah help us.

  7. The so called Garaad C/qani , Oodweyne mentioned,  left the country not because he was attached to rebels , but was disgruntled from personal issues with the Siyaad people. THen again joining SNM in the eighties wasn't about secession then.

To make the story short he left Somaliland in the nineties after he clashed with Cigaal. When Late Ina Cigaal organized the referendum for Somaliland constitution, Reer Sool rejected and Cigaal agreed not to take any voting boxes to Garaad community territory. Cigaal never wanted to force anyone if they rejected especially the non Habro community. As Maakhiri mentioned, Garaad C/qani with Xaabsade joined colonel C/laahi Yusuf and became the founders of Puntland.

  8. My God, why he want to be a Bit..ch while he could be the boss of Laascaanood himself.

Is this warlord more powerful than the people of Sool and Laascaanood? I don't think so.

2 hours ago, Che -Guevara said:

Prez HSM sounds like tribal cheif who is calling for a calm amid a battle between two Somali clans fighting over grazing land.

HE should have kept his mouth shut or asked a good speech writers to organize something to reflect the moment, especially people waving the blue flag and calling for union against the secessionists. WArlord Muuse didn't even even mince his words, and accused him of orchestrating the war.

This shows being a leader and upholding the idea of sovereign nation or one measuring things through tribal lenses.

  9. 7 hours ago, baala xoofto said:

    maaweeloda caruurta.

Ustaad Oodweyne, It won't be a joke this time around. They could demand the deployment of Amisom to Laascaanood.

We warned the consequences of choosing a warlord like  Muuse who overpowered Kulmiye party through bombs in Hargeisa  and becoming a leader. He has no support among the public. He already murdered dozens in Hargeisa, Burco and Sanaag. The people of Sool already hate him because his bad history.

Furthermore, Saleebaan Gaal, the senile loser had just spoken like Muuse by calling for arms. The Guurti supposed to send elders and reconcile, but this all man just parroted what Muuse said.

2023 could be the year to clear Al-shbaab from south central Somalia and expel the separatists from Sool.

  10. This uprising is becoming a movement. If the people of Sool decides to expel Somaliland project no army or RRU can stop. The politicians had been discarded both in Laascaanood and Garoowe. No one cares what C/laahi Deni says on this issue. Money has been raised across the globe, and it looks there is no turning back this time around.

The people of Sool and Laascaanood had seen the the writing in the wall. They have seen the federal president dancing with Ina Biixi, then Omar Geelle promoting the separatist movement along side Hassan Sheikh without a shame. On the other hand, the pro Amara Somali region of Ethiopia president Ina Cagjar disbanding a simple low level conference of consultation after initially accepting it, while the Puntland leadership is dealing under the table with Hargeisa.

Sool says enough with betrayal and fake Soomaalinimo.

There is no federal government promoting unity and self determination of regions, while Somali entities are either corrupt and despotic as Djibouti or the Jigjiga clannish entity taking the water for Ethiopia.  So, the time has come for Sool to rely on themselves and for those who support them. A simple well organized guerrilla movement could dismantle the Somaliland project in Sool.

Furthermore, Muuse Biixi is hated by the majority of the regions from Awdal, South Hargeisa, more than half of Togdheer and the majority of Sanaag and Sool. If there is a time to dismantle Muuse Biixi led project  in Sool, it is today. No Somaliland militia could sustain a long people's uprising.

One more thing, there is no hope where ever Somalis rule. Somaliland could see Djibouti, a city state with 700,000 who are mostly unemployed, living in  the most expensive country in the world combined  with the most harsh climate  in the region, yet acting like a functioning state. Why even bother the so called " Aqoonsi" while you can collect the welfare ( donor money) and act as state while bombs are flying in Mogadishu.

Why we even need a Somali state? let every tribe get the donor money, collect some taxes from boats and borders, create a police who shoots those who disagree the ruling class. Isn't that what happening in Jigjiga, Djibouti, Hargeisa or Garoowe. I don't want to even mention the fake states of Galmudug, Hirshabeele of Jubba.

This is the legacy of 30 years of misrule. These losers interview one another in clan TV's and narrate how bad the Somali state was while they lack water, electricity or healthcare. After 30 years of rule by the greedy rebel there is no a working police station, a court clerk to accept or a judge to rule justly or functioning institution.

Sool might be the first but others will flow. Probably Sanaag, Awdal, Bari region of Puntland, and even Hiiraan.

We have enough of this fake maamuls.

  11. I like the young journalists of Somaliland. They always ask the hard hitting questions.

WE all know there are no working institutions in Somaliland. If there is peace , it is the result of tribal peace. The tribes cooperate and arrest their criminals and the police is just there for show of force just in case. The best the local police does is subdue conflicts among tribes ( Qabaa'ilka ayey kala dhex galaan).

The idea of Puntland intervening is a false hope. They fully cooperate with Somaliland to keep the status quo. No change is expected especially the Reer Bari leadership which dealing Somaliland under the table just like Faroole.

    4 hours ago, Tallaabo said:

especially ina kaahin, he should be sacked as soon as possible.

I repeat, Kulmiye people and Biixi are masters of dirty tricks. THey hired outlaws to murder people between Dila and Gabiley in 2009 to create tribal conflict and make Gabiley switch to Siilaanyo, they did in Sanaag to create hostility between east and west burco, especially to discourage anyone from east Burco to vote Waddani. While there are some clan revenges and others, I do believe Kulmiye is involved. Most of the young that were murdered are members of the opposition.

in conclusion, as Che said, these people do not to be part of these project. The dilemma is if Sool goes away it will be a project confined within Togdheer , W.Galbeed and Awdal. in other words, the end of the project.

  12. 6 hours ago, Samafal said:

. But real turn around that will change status quo is if SSC militia in Lasanod switch sides

Local militia could be the real game changer in Laascaanood. It was the local militia led by Xaabsade that took over Laascaanood and handed Somaliland without firing a bullet. THere was no Somaliland presence in Laascaanood for 16 years until the Xaabsade militia moved from Puntland and switched sides.

Also, remember Somaliland police, especially the RRU are typical Cabdi Iley LIyuu police. They are trained to shoot people. This the real order that comes from the interior ministry. In Hargeisa they shot dead 7 people in very small demonstration in small Xaafad.

If things keep going like this expect big changes.

Why would somaliland  govt murder it’s own. Officials make no sense at all what is there to gain

It is easy. Dirty politics of Kulmiye to disinfranchise the people of Laascaanood and deny the opposition to gain a large portion of the vote.

I have seen this game in Sanaag few years ago when simple clan issue was used for political purposses.

  14. 1 hour ago, baala xoofto said:

The Somaliland Gov't has put a lot of resources into this and has reduced the rate of assassinations from one per month to one per quarter. Further work needs to be done to get reduced further.

    I hope you are right.

It is unthinkble that assassinations and murders couldn't be resolved in a medium size town like Laascaanood. This isn't a huge meteropole with large population. Either the city leadership is incompetent and corrupt or those who supposed to guard are doing the killing.

1 hour ago, baala xoofto said:

There is not much anyone can do about when the locals are at each other's throat

  15. This town needs freedom and peace.

It became the deadliest city, second only to Mogadishu in terms of people targeted for killing. The Somaliland security forces seem to be supervising the killings of the people. It is all about sinster politics.

We all remember the Sanaag clan war sponsored by the government which raged for years until it achieved its goal. A stable Laascaanood voting as they wish could change the balance of power, and that is bad for the Hargeisa clique.

  16. One thing former American president Donald Trump tought as is what he called the " Fake News". Events might not reflect as they have been reported by the media somethimes. The hard hitting investigative journalism of last century is dead. For example 90% of Somali Youtube chanels are all fake news. Some will show you  just pictures and narrate things without any facts.

Now the latest news from Mogadishu is even more fake than they apear.

The God forsaken city is totally shut down for hours due to the arraival Djibouti despot Omar Geelle. It is not only the road leading from the airport to the Villa, but the whole neighborhood and the green zone (Baghdad style) is closed from public, motor vehicles, Bajaaj and even donkeys carrying firewood.

We have been told that Omar Geelle the great promotor of Somali language and culture is in town to inaugurate the opening of accademy for the promotion of Somali language. For those of us who know one or two things about Geelle and Djibouti, this is nothing but a well thought strategy to mislead the guilible residents of that town and take advatage of the Somali leadership trying to gain some badly needed ftreinds.

Now, in order to refute this claim of Omar Geelle promoting the Somali language, let me present my reasons:

1-The Somali language isn't the official language of the Republic of Djibouti nor its working language.

The official working language of Djibouti is French. People could speak Anfari, Somali, Arabic and so on , but the official language of the state is French.

2-Djibouti doesn't have news papaers written in Somali language.

It has a government paper called Le Nazione which published in French. Why a government prestending to promot Somali language couldn't publish one single news paper in Somali? Compare that to Hargeisa where half dozen papers are published dialy or weekly. There is Jamuuriya, Damal, Haatuf and others in Hargeisa streets every day or weekly. In Somaliland, huge book fairs are presented in Hargeisa and Borama every year which attracts thousands of people. Add that to the poets, composers and other singers who make our language rich. None of that exixts in Djibouti today. Years ago, there used to be some composers and playwright community members in Djibouti, but today, they either dead or are in exile.

3- Djibouti schools do not teach their children Somali language as a second language. There is no opportunity for Djibouti youth to master their language and literature in their schools. The people of Djibouti has rich original Somali , but that is lost in the city, and there is no venue to teach the literature of the language.

All these and many other reasons indicate that despot Geelle has no intention of promoting the Somali language. In terms of culture, he doesn't hold any deep rooted Somali culture or tradition. He forced his son in law to divorce his dauther by force against tradition and Islamic faith while welcoming foreiners to wed among his family. Compare this to Jaale Siyaad (Allah ha u naxariiste). One of the sons of Siyaad Barre (Hassan Rubeti) who went to scholarship in eastern Europe, had befreinded and marreied a Checkoslavakia woman. When he came back to home and told Jaale Siyaad, he told him: Waar gabdhihii Soomaaliyeed oo dalka wax guursada raba miyaad naag ajaanib ah guursanaysaa?, waar aniga la i odhan maayo madaxweynaha wiilashiisii baa gabdhihhi Soomalida iska dhaafay oo Ajaanib guursanaya.

Wiilasheyda qudbadii Jaale Siyaad ayaan u jeediyaa: waaryaada, naag Ajaanib ha ii keenina xataa haday Pakistani iyo Carab tahay. anigu gabadh Soomaaliyeed wax aanan ahayn kuma ducaynayo.

He is doing all these for public relations and propoganda purposes to promote his family and pave the way for one of his children for power. He is overweight, sick and old, which means he will be trasnfering power soon to one of his childrens. In order to make the transition easy for the coming illegal action, he is building fake bridges among the Somali leaders, especially the southern Somalis who probably know nothing beyond Mogadishu. It is difficult for someone born and raised in southern Somalia to understand, Djibouti, Sanaag or Jigjiga.

So, now Mogadishu has invited Geelle to promote a language that doesn't exist in his own back yard.

For that is another fake news.

WAxa wadada laagu jeexayaa warlord Sadiq John and company.

Finally it was President of Kenya William Ruto that convinced the dictator to release the troops.

    B. X did he get paid?

I would give Afwork what ever amount he asks. Who in the world would train 5000 men for Somalia? not even Turkey. The visit of Ruto to Asmara shows the influence of Afwork in the horn is growing.

Anyway, this is a good news.
