  1. I remember Shariif Ahmed going to Kampala, Uganda and staying 8 days , just like homeless person taking advantage of the hotels and the foreign hospitality.

Normal leaders do visit and return after concluding their business in 48 hours. No one knows what HSM did four days in UAE. Also, what could he accomplish in Kenya were elections are within weeks?

Yet, tomorrow will be two months since his election and no cabinet in sight.

DAdkan in hawliba U taalo ma moodayaan. Waa dhibka qoloqol jooga Aduunka ma fami karaan. Waar naga fashiiso oo dawlada soo dhameystir.

    He should be working yesterday.

  2. We have seen the ugly side of Puntland.

If Faroole is the moral foundation of Puntland, may God help us. His and C/weli Gaas speech were Rwanda type incitement . Sacdiya might be seeking publicity to help her region, but she was un armed and wasn't threat.

The ugly part is former leaders who should know better and call for investigation had put all the blame squarely On Sacdiyo. The ugly Faroole even rejected the title of acting president for Sacdiyo. Is this jealousy or tribal hatred?

A friend from the SAcdiyo community said that some of the family members who lost soldiers in the biscuit incident had openly blamed her community thanks to Faroole and the fat man C/weli Gaas.

Bal magaalo dhufays la iskugu jiro oo qolo walba hubeystan tahay ayey leeyihiin SAcdiyaa ka dambeysa.

The truth is Sacdiyo called the vice president and the governor of Bari  before she landed, what more do they want? Is this the fear of Farmaajo being manifested to Sacdiyo?. It was Faroole and his group who backed Khayre and betrayed Dani, and now trying to be a bully.

Why Somali men lose their mind when challenged by a lady?

Xataa garan maayaan in ay dhahaan gabadhu waa gabadheeni e bal waxa dhacay gudi ha loo saaro.

What a bunch of losers. This Puntland place is manifesting itself to be the land of warlords and greedy leaders. First step is take faroole to the senior homes to spare us from his ugly speeches.

  3. It is difficult to believe his narrative. I have seen the earlier clip where he claimed no one has forced him to come to the city. He was probably trying to extort money some of his family members while cooperating with some locals.

No one would walk 18 km at night outside the city to take him to a police station. he is contradicting throughout his speech. We the diaspora have became venerable to the schemes of people back home. It is a scheme.

I had a family member who who asked me money for his wedding, and I did help him. After few months I found out there was no wedding, but a plot to make a quick cash. Neither Somaliland or Puntland is involved in this confusing case. We are better than this.

In the south, they are called SNA and get paid by the government.

These militia in the south had abused people in Lower Shabelle and burned villages throughout the region. There were no repots of impunity and abuse for the last five years under Farmaajo.

On the issue of Eritrea, HSM had shown leadership. After Sahan and others made these forces as their main target, the Farnaajo government had an obligation to inform the public, but they failed. HSM is pro active president who understands the optics of these things. He got it right.

In a peaceful transfer of power the successor usually takes advantage of the programs initiated by his predecessor and concludes them while taking the credit. HSM took the Maritime dispute with Kenya to Hague and Farmaajo run with it.

  5. It all comes down to one thing: you can’t have this Daysano family run military within Puntland.

HSM should take this force and incorporate with the national army. They could be valuable against Al-Shabaab.

Another dilemma is Aaran Jan in Garoowe want to crash Reer Dayaano both politicaly and military and take over the leadership. Yet Mr. Dayyano, the older brother want to try his luck one more time before being disbanded. In fact, a Reer Bari friend of mine told me that it was Garoowe gang that forced Dani to clash with Dayaano before running for president which was a bad move that backfired.  They wanted the arena cleared for them before after the departure of Dani.

So, the issue is probably more complicated than we think

  6. Either its tabloid crab or this Moe Farah guy is coping other celecberties who go to the talk shows and claim abuse as a child, just to be in the news.

He might have felt abused as a child by a relatives , but as a grown man he should appreciate the hardship his adopted parents went through in the early nineties to survive in a strange environment.

British tabloid are killers. They don't even spare the Queen.

    Thank you Eritrea

Politically corrupt Somalis are parroting what Matt Bryden is saying. According to them yesterday they were deployed to Tigray war and today they are hostages to Eritrea..

They say Qatar promised to pay Eritrea, but when TPLF was toppled and Abiy got close to UAE , especially during the gulf blockade, Qatar withdraw its peace keeping forces that it deployed between Djibouti and Eritrea, it stopped its flights to Asmara and so forth. There are nations that want strong Somalia in horn and others who want to keep us down, and if we don't know the deference woe to us.

  8. This is the best example of decline of the " Hooyada Federaalka".

For over decade Puntland was cashing in and enhancing mercenary forces paid by foreign nations. These forces are not loyal to the regional government and the leadership. Now they are reaping the fruits of their labour.

They used to have Daraawiish or local militia, but now you hear about PMPF and PISF who are  both illegal mercenaries paid by others. Corruption, nepotism and fake boasting had finally caught Puntland.

For Sacdiya Firinbi, she will probably burn out soon due to her oversized ego.

Waxaad moodaa in ay Bakhaar iyadu leedahay raashinka ka keentay.

If there is a relieve effort why not let the federal government take the lead?

Anyway, 20 military men dying for for few cartons of biscuits tells a lot about Deni and Puntland itself. This man should be kicked out before its too late or warlordism will take root in Puntland.

If not, how wise would it be to develop relations with only one of the two countries engaged in a conflict?

Of course you could recognize Palestine as independent, but occupied state and support two state solutions. Even the PLO of Yasser Arafat used to have embassies in Somali back in the days.

The era of flowing Arabs on this issue is over. As I said, the influence of Israel in the region and in Washington couldn't be ignored, and Somali foreign policy experts must way the pros and cons and make the  logical decision. We are done fighting or carrying water for despotic Arabs who murder their own citizens in 2022.

One day its their Wahabi sect taking over our traditions, then Arab bathism and tribal ways crossing the oceans. We should look outside the gulf and look to China, Indonesia, Pakistan, Africa and other places.

I don't expect any justice or truth from Somalis. If you watch some of the interviews these days, every fool will tell you how he was hero while everyone else was the villain, yet simple scrutiny would discover their lies and half truths.

There are small segments from Puntland who accuse everything on Siyaad barre, while our Habro cousins has no else but Siyaad Barre to refer everything that went wrong while  overlooking their failures.

He also recently met them in UAE, but what does Israel has to offer to SOMALIS?

Yes. The UAE meeting is credible and possible. The Emirati guys are pushing this, but as you said, at the moment Somalia will not gain anything from this relationship, but I don't see a Somali president making that bold move in 2016 while the Turkiye and Israel relations were law due to the behavior of extreme right wing government of Netanyahu. Also, remember, HSM had great relations with Turkiye.

HSM in his last term did a lot of moves to please the west, the international organizations and even the UN, yet each one of them wrote disparaging reports about weapons being transferred to Al-shbaab, corruption and other outlandish allegations. Certainly there were some corruptions, but they went out of their way to destroy him. While Farmaajo was pro American, he flowed his own foreign policy and HSM probably has learned few things after meeting Farmaajo behind closed doors.

Also, credible reports indicate that the UAE trip wasn't successful in so many ways. I even heard that Turkiye had informed HSM not to change the military building process led by Turkiye and warned not to introduce any military presence of UAE in Somalia.

As mentioned, this Abraham accord is huge among the Arab league members, but we don't what we will gain from this. One thing that might help is the Israeli lobby in Washington makes things happen which might lead weapons embargo lifted and other things.

  12. Matt Bryden "Eritrea's despotic, corrupt, ideologically bankrupt regime has nothing to offer that Somalia either wants or needs - except the return of the young trainees who've been held hostage by Asmara for over two years"

Why a foreign guy tells us what we we want or need?

    Che,

Mr. Haji Ingriis is correct on this.

Its the mind set of the leader and the people of Eritrea that makes them invincible.

It is how we were in the sixties and seventies. We were four million Somalis who not only thought we were invincible, but also tried to liberate African nations from the yolk of colonialism, before we disintegrated to a fake enclaves dwelled by unemployed youth and hungry people.

Even with 100 minion Ethiopians, 40 million Kenyans and 30 million Sudanis,  Afwork thought he was the boss. Again greatness is all  about mind set.

HSM secretly met with former prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel in 2016

That is totally false. Their were reports that when Netanyahu was in Nairobi he met some African leaders while also HSM was in Nairobi, but there was never ever any rumors or reports about going all the way to Jerusalem.

The so called Abraham accord is one of the biggest geopolitics moves in the middle east involving the gulf nations except Qatar. Also Egypt and Sudan led by the the Junta might involve also. The UAE is using this accord to disarm the Iran nuclear agreement pushed by the Biden administration. They are even pushing a NATO style security grantee for the gulf nations and Israel. The Jewish state has a lot of influence in the region and the world and Somalia has every right to look its interest if normalization would lead to stability and security. Turkey has huge trade reaching over 5 billions with Israel, and Erdogan is making build the relationship even more.

That doesn't mean we have to  flow Turkey or anyone else for our interest. Yet, I would advise HSM not to rush to these things at the moment which might embolden certain extremist and fuel Al-shabaab to use this narrative to recruit innocent and unemployed boys.

Furthermore, we don't have to fall for every foreign media narrative trying their fishing expedition in our affaires. Martin Blout and others  had fed us false info about our soldiers in Eritrea and many had jumped the wagon. We have to be careful.

We can all play games back home , but foreign policy is very delicate business that should be left for experts.

    • Thanks 1

  14. She has no clue. Ten years old girl in Somalia of 1969 couldn't understand government or the internal dynamics. She just want to tell us about her dad and she is probably paying for this.

This guy seem to be someone who doesn't understand how the world worked in the sixties, seventies or even eighties. I see him interviewing people who say " hebel baa la iga hormariyey ka dibna waan talaabay.

Information warfare is part of the campaign to keep nations down.

This tiny great nation of 4 million people had repulsed the army of the 100 million Ethiopia nation led by a capable prime minister Meles Zanawi. Before the war of 1998-2000, Eritrea was developing in high speed. Trucks were assembled in their factories and they had built the Massawa-Asmara train tracks without the help of others.

Then when they defeated Ethiopia in a stalemate, cribbing sanctions flowed and the country faced great hardship, but they kept their independence. Without Afwerk Eritrea could have been a satellite state under the empire of rags Ethiopia, or worse could have been swallowed by Ethiopia. They have zero death and when the world order changes, which could be sooner than we think, they would be in a great position to decide their future.

The president seems to be wising up. Let's hope he continues with this.

He definitely is. In his last term, he was pushed around by those who have given some small crumps. I remember the Somali UN delegation leaving the assembly when Iran envoy was speaking. He did what ever the Saudis asked him and even more.

Now HSM is flowing the interest of his nation. Consistent foreign policy based on your value , history and interest makes your nation stable and successful. No nation including even Turkey is willing to take 5000 soldiers  at once and train them .

I think like Farmaajo before him HSM is flowing a great tradition of independent Somali foreign policy for the last 60 years. Here are few examples:

When we became independent in 1960, Taiwan was holding the UN seat of the republic of China, and many countries were forced to deny the Peoples Republic of China including Ethiopia and many countries in Africa, western Europe and Latin America. Somali recognized PR of China as the legitimate government of China rejecting the policy of Italy, Britain and others.

In 1978, when Camo David accord was signed between Egypt and Israel, the Arab league expelled Egypt and cut diplomatic relations. But Somalia refused to join and kept its relations with Egypt, and lately in 2017, Farmaajo decided to be neutral of the gulf diplomatic war between Qatar and others.

HSM is doing the right thing. He will gain a big force trained in the hot climate and mountain trains of Eritrea.

And welcome to being HSM's Spokesman on SOL😀

We rather have someone else , like MMA or the new guy Sheekeeye give us updates about our president. This kid and many others like him want to keep reminding their perceived enemy they won something. They didn't. HSM won.

HSM is doing the right thing these days. I did listen his speech to the cadet commandos training in Turkey, and I could say it was one of the best speeches a Somali president probably ever made.

HSM us gaining the confidence of the people , especially the way he handled the Kenyans who tried to disrespect him after his election victory. By sending the deputy premier to IGAD heads of state meeting, Hamza also understood how serious the issue was despite his Kenyan connection.

If HSM want to gain the more confidence of the Somali people, he should let go the Moorayaan called Mahas Salaad acting as NISA chief. That guy is basically pulling down his standing with the Somali people.

THere are credible reports that said, the USA, and its strategic partner, Qatar , had concluded not to share any intelligence with Somalia since this guy could sell secrets to the UAE who can't be trusted by America and others. The American put security conditions to sell the F-35 planes to UAE for  fear that they might be  sharing the technology to others.

The firing of the outlaw won't happen quickly, but within the next six months or so, Hamza will be given the green light to fie him.

We have seen the Turkish leadership honor the Somali people, and we have seen , in the general sense, the agreements that both nations signed, but we haven't heard nothing about the killer Sheikhs of Dubai.

    Here is that great speech.

  18. Maakhiri1,

I have major doubts about Al-shbaab in Mogadishu. The same people who killed her sister, Abwaan Bedel and others are the hidden mob killing people under the cover of Al-shabaab.

They even hit police stations manned by good guys. The C/caziis district police chief Naciimo mentioned was bombed in Waaberi along other officers after he replaced the old crooked police chief.

These people were operating under the nose of Farmaajo. He surrounded himself with his enemies. They killed her sister, yet they want to finish even her too.

  19. My God, what an intelligent lady this Naciimo is.

The wisdom and the way she speaks shows that the richness of the Somali language, I could listen her all day. She is above of the cockroaches who are trying to gain attention by talking about her.

Mahad and company are from Guriceel and she is from Hargeisa, the only deference is that he has criminal gangs and she is a law abiding citizen.

Instead of catching terrorists and criminals , NISA are chasing innocent critics. This bad news. How far will HSM tolerate these gangs.

She is totally brilliant. I would suggest to Naciimo to leave politics and concentrate on her arts. This lady is super star Walaahi.I have never seen anyone speak like this for a long time.

International literature organizations and noble organizations should look her work.

Exactly. Yet if we could find few out spoken, well educated moderate Sheikhs like Sheikh Abdirahman Bashir Of Djibouti, we could turn the tide. You need few tough Sheikhs who are willing to confront the Wahabis. The national TV and Radio could be a good vehicle.

There was a friend of mine who visited Boosaaso in 1999, and he went to one of the Masjids owned by these lunatic Khawaariij. After Iqaama was called, one of the guys said, " Waar ha iska heesaane sallada ina geliya".

In Madiina, the city of the Prophet Mohamed Peace be upon him, they called the first eedaan call around 4:30 and start the Fajr prayer at 5:30, and when you done and come outside,  the sun isn't out but it is clear day. Yet, back home it all starts at 3:00Am, who can dare and tell that guy, " Waar ummadu hakaa huridee eedaanka u kaadi, fajarkuna waa 5:25 e. That is were you need state regulation of these people.

Wahabism could mostly spread war torn countries where there is no strong civilization. It barely exists in Sudan, north Africa and west Africa, except pockets in Libya. In Nigeria they forcing the people through gun, kidnapping and intimidations.

Agree. No major Sheikh except Sheikh C/qadir Gacamey and one two probably had spoken against Al-shabaab. There is deep down believe among many people that the presence of Al-shbaab was the only way to safeguard the country from corrupt tribes and vultures from outside.

It is the ideology that Leeds for someone to murder an innocent person inside a Masjid. It was Sheikh Ahmed Rashiid who in the early nineties warned about people who claim to be religious people at the same time willing not only raise their hands for their fellow brothers, but even kill.

There are people who share Wahabi ideology with Al-shabaab who dominate business and trade inside major centers: Mogadishu, Boosaaso and Hargeisa.

Once trumpists are in power they will not care who they will negotiate with.  Pan-Somalism  intertwined with Pan-Islamism with Sheekh Xassan Banna and our local dariiqoyinka can only save us from this menace

    Khadaafi,

The Muslim brotherhood were the main alternative to the Wahaabis in the nineties, but the military intervention of Ethiopia combined with  the total war waged against democracy and elections by the gulf had destroyed that movement. Also, the Wahabi culture took a deep root among the rigid nomads of central Somali, Woqoyi Bari, Togdheer and Gedo. While poor uneducated recruits are found in both Shabelle and Bay, most of the Al-shabaab ideologues  come from Woqoyi, central Somalia(Puntland Galmudug) and Gedo.

The Sufi movement can't hold against the Wahabis who consider them heretics. Even moderate Sheikhs had to always take a tough line on any issues regarding rigid interpretations to avoid been branded as a weak . It is like the republican party of USA where candidates had to go as far right as possible to cater to their donors. Even in Muxaadaro, you are not allowed to ask anything contrary of what the Sheikh says,( Sheekhaw maxaa laga yeelaya kuwa sidaa leh?).

Heck, when I went home decades ago, we had Mu'adins calling Fajar Daakiraad before 3:00 AM, no one can tell them that the Fajar prayers will be after five , so please don't start early.

Our only hope, probably is for Mohamed Bin Salmaan to send us few former Wahaabis and tell everyone that "we invented the Wahabis to control the mases, keep the kings in power and stop the open society of Qaadiriya and Shaaficiya.". the show is over and please go back to your tradition..

On the issue of Al-shabaab overrunning the capital, it is complicated. As  you mentioned if there are no progress in 14 years, we shouldn't be doing the same thing and expect different results.

    Here is the dilema:

Because of extreme poverty among the youth recruiting for Al-shbaab is easy. It is like joining the US marines where you get free meal, shelter, food, salary and became part of something. If you recruit young boys, bring them in a camp, train them, give them food and money and later give few doses of anti foreign sermons and give their life for Islam, that is the easiest job for the big bosses.

Mafia soldiers are the happiest among the Italian mafia. They have prestige, money, families and they can intimidate the public at will. In Puntland some of  the Youngman convicted of killing people were even middle class kids playing soccer after they wacked some one just like the mafia.  .I would target the money flow and dry them. And for the new regime to target the big boys in Bakaraha or the telecom industry, It will be difficult.

So, Mr. Khadaafi, where do we start. Do we have to go back to the old Egyptian ways of appointing Imaams who should breach against the Wahabi doctrine? Revive Qaadiriya and others, arm them and fight them in their own villages? do we have to create paramilitary forces like Latin America and take the war to the extremists?

I don't know, but I agree with you that without a large number of people being subconsciously Al-shbaab, it is difficult to defeat them. Also, I don't buy the idea of USA helping us defeat the menace. The USA own terrorist manuals mainly concentrate targeting of leaders and those suspected of taking part international cases.

I would start buy cutting services to the area controlled by Al-shabaab. No internet, Phone or electricity. No Hawala.

    Where do you star

  22. I have no tribal,  land disputes or conflict with the Galmudug boys, so the issue has nothing to do with Qabyalad,  but no one could hide the ugly side of people like Calasow who many of your ilk consider as the leading  opinion maker.

I think there are so many ways they can crises that young woman without going to the gutter. That is why I say they lack creativity and imagination in the Somali language.

    Waar is qabta dadkiinani .
