I understand the message you want to convey but this erroneous statement of yours is more typical of the superstitious lot who have no faith in Allah. The dead do not follow what is going on in the world they left behind.

What a load of nonsense!! In 1991 the World Wide Web as we know it today did not even exist outside of the CERN facilities in Europe.

If the UAE wants to get Farmaajo out, they can easily divide a couple of million dollars to a healthy proportion of the Somalia Parliament and start impeachment proceedings against him.

That is a wishful thinking Mr Galbeedi. The Americans have been watching the Somali politics and society since our independence from the Europeans and they know very well that they do not possess a magic stick to coerce Somaliland into another unwanted union with koonfuria. They can forsee the instability and insecurity such a coerced union can bring to Somaliland and the dangers such instability and insecurity in Somaliland will pose for the American servicemen and women in the region. So the security experts at the Pentagon and the diplomats at the State Department are no doubt in agreement that an independent Somaliland is much suitable for hosting a US military base than a Somaliland with an uneasy union with koonfuria.

Well, there was never a united people or a country Somalis owned prior to the colonisation of our lands, so there is no reason to blame the Europeans for creating "fiefdoms". Indeed it was the European powers who united the clan fiefdoms which existed in the Somali territories for centuries and created what could be described as our first modern nations. The colonialists should be given credit for creating "Soomaalinimo" and "Soomaaliwayn" ideologies for these concepts were foreign to our ancestors as the white colonialists themselves.

Lovely place and the people in the old photo look beautiful in those dresses.

"Shacabka Soomasliyeed" are also those who decided to take Somaliland back from Mogadishu, elect their leaders, and sign business deals with international companies and sovereign states. So one should ask the residents of Villa AMISOM which "shacab Soomaaliyeed" are they referring to in their boring press conferences and TV interviews?
-
Does this mean that president MBC is calling off the so-called talks with Villa AMISOM?
-
But what you are forgetting is that the UAE signed an agreement with the "Somalis it needs"

Well in simple words Cabdi Raxmaan Tuur was like a mother who while suffering from postnatal depression wanted to strangle her infant daughter and Haaji Maxamad Ibraahim Cigaal was like a good aunt who came to the rescue of the baby, adopted her and brought her up. Both are loved and respected.

This is what the media should call the Mogadishu administration

If the leaders of Somaliland copied the systems of accountability, transparency, and good governance from the first world countries of the west and Asia, today Somaliland would be very different. But Suldaanoow the problem is we not only incapable of finding our own solutions to our problems but we cannot even copy the existing solutions which have worked very well for other countries.

The result of this democratisation of Puntland's politics will predictably produce their own version of jeegaan Somalis will never be pure democrats and dissociate clan politics from proper politics.

Oh I forgot to mention that the word "Somalilander" also describes anyone who hails from Somaliland whether he/she is a unionist like Maakhiri or a secessionist like Barwaaqo. Or whether they like it or not

You know nothing about court proceedings. If DP World decides to pursue the case against Djibouti in the International arbitration courts, Djibouti will not talk about DP World's other businesses especially if those businesses are not connected to the case before the court. There is no room for politics in a court of law.

Maakhiri if you apply for an ID card in Somaliland you will be ask to bring your sulltan with you to prove that you are Somalilander by clan. The sultan will tell the government that you are the son of so and so, that you are from this sub-sub clan, and that you are a Somalilander by blood. A sheegato like Saalax will not be able to get the ID card because there will be no sultan to prove his xalaalness and right to citizenship. So the word "Somalilander" is also used to describe any member of the clans which make up Somaliland even if such a person is a citizen of another country.

The first guy in the video implied that the accused is in prison because of "colaad loo qabo dhulka uu ka soo jeedo". The accused man's relatives will say anything to get out of trouble but they also have a case against the so-called police chief. The police chiefs have a nasty habit of talking about cases not yet resolved by the courts. They should be instructed to stop commenting on active cases not resolved by the courts and any who does so should be disciplined.

As a result of the genocide of the beesha dhexe by Siyaad's army, the suffering civilians were very confused and bitter but I believe that the SNM's intention was never about secession of Somaliland. Instead they wanted to replace Siyaad Barre's dictatorship with another SNM-Caydiid tyranny. However a political wizard called Cali Mahdi (God bless him) pulled the rug under their feet but also inadvertently paved the way for the break up of the uneasy union. I believe if a government of national unity which represented every clan immediately replaced Siyaad Barre's administration and relentlessly pursued all the war criminals to face justice, neither the secession of Somaliland nor the chaos in the south would have taken place and today the Somali society would very different.

If by saying Abdi Ilay you mean the administration he represents, then by virtue of its proximity to Jigjiga, the port of Berbera would be most beneficial to the Somali kilil. Already a large number of "long foot" entrepreneurs from Jigjiga and elsewhere do significant business in Somaliland. An expanded port in Berbera with an associated free trade zone will only increase their businesses and prosperity.

^ Oh did I forget that there are no proper hospitals and schools either!! And no quality control which resulted in the sale of expired food and drugs. No wonder why the mortality rate in Hargeisa is so high including among those who are thieving the public purse.
