1. ^^^^^ The federalist ship has sailed and everything you say was true maybe 6 months ago but no longer is, Somalia is in a better shape than it was 3, 5 or 10 years ago, no matter how you think Somalia will be fragmented by federalization it is much better than what Somalia was for the past 24 years. The UN forced Hassan to accept federalism and he is slowly and reluctantly building the structure of federal states.
2. ^^^ i hate to pop your bubble but Somaliland is also a big mess, you like to make fun of Mogadishu but the economy there dwarfs that Somaliland and the SFG holds the key to the future of SL despite all your bravado. Don't forget that all these factions in Sool are a little fickle and require constant attention, things changed very quickly in that region before.
3. @Alpha Blondy said: Somalia has more important priorities than serving the web. In this day and age the Internet is a vital utility that any state can't function without, we don't have to be contrarian all the time.
4. @Miyir said: jumping on sinking separatist wagon same time undermining the union for coins is worse then being subservient. Then the SFG and Puntland should ramp up the charm offensive, Somaliland has been chipping away at the people there for the past few years with no resistance from either PL or the SFG. There is still a faction that is still holding out but sometimes idealism gives way to the persistent pressure of reality.
5. @SomaliaRising said: kkkkk at the end of the day ssc are servants and snm are the boss. SR, if the Khatumo people decide to join SL it's their choice, you can't deny that SL is more active in trying to make them join. I also don't think anyone will be subservient to the other, it will be extremely dangerous to antagonize the people there. I just want to know why the sudden movement to secure that region, there is something going on behind the scenes that we're not privy to.
6. This is not a bad move if it is for training purposes.
7. I took a stroll to the supermarket the other day, why aren't they covering me? I think there more substantial news that need covering Cidan.
8. Dr_Osman, do you live there? Why don't you go and try to fix your state?
9. ^^^ Cause suffering and destruction for the people who they are supposedly fighting for, what a God fearing group of people. Those people are a virus and they will spread everywhere, they are already causing humiliation and despair for the Diaspora.
10. @Dalmar1 said: Have you heard the news, that qeybdiid and gaas are talking about uniting Galmudug into Puntland, with the promise that Saca.d will get vice President, two ministers and three vice ministers and a disclosed amount of money! Sxb i think its true, because qeybdiid fired its ministers and is in talks now with Puntland, and don't forget gaas is now in galkacyo under secret meeting! If its true, then a big blow toward everyone and a big positive step for reer Puntland! Interesting, this will improve the chances of federalism since this will eliminate the argument against clan enclaves.
11. That was quick. We all know that the UN is slow in its response so this sudden flurry of activity is dubious at best. Somalia is practically a UN colony there is no way they will leave any region.
12. @Alpha Blondy said: Cidaan has every right to express his opinions. what are you? the stasi police? If his opinion reflects the rest of Somalilanders then so be it, but he does turn every single conversation into "We have our boots on the neck of Laascaanood" or something similar. I find it strange that some Slers approve this guy when he attacks his "supposed" fellow countrymen, your hypocrisy insults my intelligence.
13. Moderators should be more active. CidaanSultan likes to aggravate SOLers from LA and Eastern Sanaag and Xaaji as usual turns a blind eye as a senior Lander, he might even approve it.
14. @Mooge said: niyoow, it was done by a mentally ill guard at the airport. he was sick for a while and he even tried to kill his own family before. Why was he still working in such a sensitive post then? This is gross negligence of the highest order.
15. Puntland's budget is smaller than the budget of a small town in Canada, there is no denying that, but Somaliland's budget is smoke and mirrors. No budget in the world grows by 600% in 4 years, No such economy grows by that amount and we all know that per capita Somaliland's GDP is no better than Puntland's and is much worse than Mogadishu's.
16. I don't get this fascination with the Arab League, the most useless backstabbing regional organization in the world. They are all trying to topple each other, being a member of the club is not a shield it attracts their scheming. I think Somalia would be less of a mess if we were not a member of that den of snakes.
17. @DoctorKenney said: Maybe the Somali President should maneuver by persuading the Europeans and the Americans to fund the Somali Army directly with high salaries being paid to Somali troops instead of AU troops. If Somalis were paid 1200 dollars per month then it might attract higher quality recruits to join the Military. What do you guys think That's very sensible and we don't like that.
18. @Tallaabo said: I look forward to reading the anti-Somaliland part of this story. Galbeedi is an extremely polite person and one of the most neutral people in SOL, if he is anti Somaliland then he is anti pL,JL and SFG. I'm waiting for the next installment. P.S. Can someone resurrect Alpha Blondy's journey through SL? I don't think I finished reading it.
19. This should be in the General thread but Somaliland did the right thing here, he is not licensed to practice medicine in SL but there should be further investigations to make sure the lady's claims that he was licensed by the minister are not true.
20. That's a great progress, Mogadishu is coming back and that apparently makes some people spiteful ↑.
21. Things are going relatively well lately down south, beat those terrorists down.
22. @DoctorKenney said: CidanSultan so you are advocating that your Tribal Republic should conquer and annex Puntland State? Perhaps clear out the original inhabitants of Puntland and march them down South? Perhaps create some more "living space" for Somaliland citizens, and control a territory which is more than half the size of Somalia? DK, you don't have to respond to that guy I'm starting to suspect that he is a troll account trying to show SLanders in bad light, It is just sad that Xaaji is becoming more like him.
23. We don't have to argue the same thing over and over again. The world is tired of Somalis and their inability to govern themselves, if this federalism experiment fails due to the S"F"G going against its mandate to form federal states and its desire for a centralized country then I expect the fracturing of this country into mini manageable countries. You don't have to look far (if this community is any indication)to see that Somalis don't trust each other and would rather deal with neighbouring countries than their supposed countrymen, a federal system to me is the lesser of two evils and it will take years to see it through.
