Faroole is a fool for rejecting the Istanbul Conference on Somalia....
Mario B replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
Duke, some people don't want for Somalia to have a central government [ I include SL], that's why they will every so often embarrass us on the International stage! We are a people without shame. -
There would have been no London conference if it wasn't for the Turkish PM, our politics would have been forever sub-contracted to Meles Zenawis of this world. Whatever her interest are, I will forever hold affection for that nation that raised 350m dollars last Ramadhan. I believe their humanitarian model is one that should be copied by other well intetioned people everywhere!!

Proposed Amendments to the Constitution by Puntland
Mario B replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
Lol, you lot can't handle the truth. -
That's why we need the central government so that we can put to bed this regional encroachments. My advice to the parties concern is to leave open the door for dialogue at all times. Somalia cannot afford regional cold wars.

It's the reality, of today that the scramble is on, of drawn out village borders with state flags - to the ultimate prize of clan federalism system of two provinces comes with real authority. The proff's message is the antitheses to that, he is saying that will not prevail and will only cause more hostility and renew battles ahead. Good points. It seem the Professor and Faroole are on the same side, but as you might have guessed they are politically poles apart! This debates calls for thesis, anti-thesis and then synthesis. We can all be Hegelians in the next few months,

Proposed Amendments to the Constitution by Puntland
Mario B replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
This is the nonsense our friend "Somalia" espouse. Puntland wants to use the federal constitution so it can solidify it's land, political and resource grab. The Puntland constitution was one of the most disgraceful things to come out from from Somalia in the recent times. What Puntland wants is to use the cloak of federalism so it can behave like a sovereign state and when it is taken to task it can say well that is Federalism my friend. USA federal constitution gives states three most important powers, Taxation, Judicial and Policing...Puntland wants to define who it's citizens are? -
So we have gone to Addis Ababa to copy this failed system!!
-
^^I agree the wrong team won but I blame Bayern for their complacency.
-
El Punto, have you read the Puntland constitution? Or could you just tell us what powers they would like to retain and then we can discuss whether it's wise or not!

He is the west's dictator, the minute he starts going against their interest they will produce all those dossiers that list all crimes he has commited since he came to power and you will see him at the Hague.

Warya Nuune this is geel jire thinking and it's doing Islam disservice, your wife sharing erotic moments in the privacy of your room/space is all healthy and permissable in Islam, "dhaqanka yaan na looga cayaarin" is just contrived mambo jambo.

Can someone tell this neo-con fool that the UN is already in Somalia in the form of AU.

What a better way to come to Somalia funded by USA and European Union. This helps their country's economy. Yeah, I know that...but it doesnt mean we can't fund our war ourselves, using our own men and women, fighting for our interest and survival. We have a big room to manouver if we are creative enough. We are also the ones who caused the mess, it can only be fair that we are the ones to fix what we broke ourselves in the end. As for the rizk that the Ugandas and co are reaping...well God works in a mysterious way.
