  1. So what's a good practical prank I can successfully pull on my co-workers? I was thinking of melting and mixing peanut butter with dark chocolate and adding it to a bowl of crushed corn flakes to create something that forms xaar. Have it cool in the freezer. But the prank can't be pulled off correctly without giving it the smell so I was thinking of adding a dash of butyric acid to give it that special stench but found something called "Liquid A-S-S" that I might possibly order and try. What y'all think? A little over the top?
  2. I'm sure there'll be a selected few who will not understand even with the sawiro up. But seriously it frustrated me how slow wasaqa was. I just grabbed the box and headed on out.
  3. I wish Tim Horton's was available in Southern California. 24/7 qaxwo and donuts? Hell yeah. Funny story. I was visiting family in Canada a while back. My family introduces us to Tim Horton's. I'm obviously in awe. Being the American I am, I asked and pointed to a box of donut holes. They're like what? Donut holes? What the hell is that? I'm pointing at it dork! He's like oh you mean the Tim Bits. I was like  call it what you want I want that. Then he precedes to ask why I call it that. Told'em that's what it's called in my neck of the woods and to clear the air, it's the remaining dough of an actual donut hole, hence the name. Bakhtiyaasha still didn't get it. It got really awkward and I looked for my opportunity to jet right on out. Canadians  See the hole in a whole donut? -----> those are the holes
  4. Why thank you Chimera. I'll pass that on to Liban inshAllah. Visit Somalia and give us a taste of our own motherland ban ku dhaha.
  5. It's honestly overrated. I can make a mean months worth of white chocolate mocha for the same price Starbucks charges for one cup. An organized grassroots effort to block Starbucks in parts of my city came about when locals noticed how many cafes were going out of business. Many of those business' existed long before Starbucks came to reign over all coffee shops.

  7. Starbucks is overrated. I support local coffee houses and cafe shops. They're prices are reasonable and are made with quality . Thank God Starbucks is banned in some parts of my city. Support local businesses!
  8. I like . Beats other remakes I've heard of this song. Thumbs up.
  9. Found this in our family library. Had to scan it since it wasn't available on Google. I tried reading this once just out of curiosity. Figured it was way too advanced for me. But meh, it had some aspects of a love story. I'm not into that lovey dovey type of mushiness. Anyone mind answering my first question? Grazie
  10. I want to hear them sing live. Most of these women's voices have been processed by a machine. If Kim Zolciak's voice sounds good with the blessings of a little box, I sure hell can become a singer myself. So far my vote is leaning towards Shamso Foot. I've heard a lot of her other pieces. It's pretty impressive if you ask me. Don't want to be a party pooper but I totally forgot to mention how disastrous Somali music videos are. They have the same risque two step dance, funny green screen tricks, lip syncing is sometimes off or they give no emotion to their hees like Sagal Arts, and good Lord the amount of time it takes for the actual hees to begin. Cut it short. Farxiya Kabayare had an interesting video though.
  11. I've heard a great deal about Qays and Layla from elders and heeso. Is it a traditional Somali story ama wa iska Carab Somalinized?

  13. I was neither born nor raised in Xamar but I was given the blessed chance to visit the beautiful city in 2004. Of all the cities I've visited throughout Somalia, Mogadishu was by far my favorite. No matter how "dangerous" people said it was, it was still a city worth visiting. For three months, I lived with family members from Huriwaa, now popularly known as Heliwaa, Soos, Cali Kamin, Towfiiq, Sobe, Lambar Afar, and Madina just to name a few. We were treated like dignitaries. Given tours around the historical city and history lessons of what the city was and somehow still is. I personally felt at home. Even though many of the streets and buildings were broken down, they still told stories of what the country once was and can potentially be. InshAllah I'll return to Mogadishu at a time of peace and stability and best believe I'll be building a seaside house near the shores of Lido.
  14. ^We can take this discussion and continue it my Hail Somaliland! thread .
  15. The image title on the link says Mombasa. Perhaps it's Jowhar. Last I remember Beledwayne was not that lush and green. MashAllah wadankeena qurux badanaa. InshAllah I'll live to see a stable Somalia .
  16. WARNING! THIS IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART! One of the many reasons why I veered away from ever pursuing a medical degree. Observe the swollen area that's being drained. Notice the body tissue moving in and out when the patient is breathing? Good Lord have mercy on my soul. This is gnarly on a whole new level of disgusting yet interesting. Why'd they wait for the abscess to accumulate that much pus? Holy shirdh!
  17. Mareeg, Yup sida aan u fahmay oo laygu sheegay waxa waye shirib,

  20. This is juicy. So what's the back story on Saada Ali blasting Abdi Nur Allale in her song Adkeyso? Dhageysta: http://www.heesta.com/hees.php?id=3015 Gotta admit, this woman has a cod macaan even at her age.
  21. Oh gosh. How naive of me to have even taken this seriously. SMH!
  22. Sweet thread! I love how art is being appreciated here. Kudos! Chimera, those are radical, trippy, mind bending chalk art especially the second to last. That there is what I call talent. The arts I'm into are primarily photography, videograpy, architecture and sculptors but I say I do appreciate other art. One of my favorite architects is William Pereira. Here is my favorite master piece of his: Geisel Library Liban Yusuf, fellow Somali has captured many of my favorite photographs. Marvel your eyes on some of his work as follows iA: You cannot imagine how tough it is to capture a perfect blue hour especially near the water. Beautiful panoramic image. Here is a time lapse of his visit to Paris: I find this technique to be really tough and time consuming but fun. Keep in mind, these are all still images taken over a period of time that were stitched together. Visit his site at www.libanyusuf.com
