  1. From a sheer curiosity, I guess, we all want to know good Baashi’s age. And yes we all, I assume, have some hunch as to how old this Waayeel is. Xataa waxaa ii sawiran siduu wiil hoog u ahaa markuu sano labaatanaad ku jirey. Aduunyoy xaalkaa ba’, maantana wuxuu mawduuc u yahay this great gathering of nomads. Waa taa Falxado(Kaleidoscopic ) weydiinta ku xiijisey!

Salaan Carrabey oo da’diisa ka warramay baa wuxuu mar yiri:

Nin labaatan buuxsaday adduun waa lagdamayaane

Haddaan anigu lawfari aqiin haatan lawlabaye

Nin cirradu lamaanaha dhigtoo laylyamaan ahaye

Lixdan labiyo toban baan dulmaray waana la hubaaye

Lafta dhabarka lixaadkay dabciyo laafyihii gacanta

Lubigaygu leyl xalay ma ladin laadadyiyo taahe

Waa taa lanleelmada indhaha aragu liitaaye

Liiq-liiqad baan ahaye sidii lula dabaylaade

  2. :D @It is so unpromising of a two-faced idealist like you!

Well, if this how you go about it you must’ve sunk even deeper than I originally thought. And I guess, it’s time for me to harvest the unmatched wisdom of Arabic poetry and shelf you in the right drawer you deservedly belong.

    وصÙت التقوي كأنك ذي التقاة

    وريح الخطايا من الثيابك تتصطع

In case you’re linguistically challenged, the highlight of this verse is how you stride into a pulpit (Elmer Gantry comes to mind) to lecture me about morals while the iniquitous and clannish thinking is dripping from you with its reeking smell.

  3. OLOL,

If you deemed the issues of Kismayo, Marka, and Bravo the tales of yesteryears and you depicted the tramplers and their vandalizing acts prosperity, you sure drawing a circle that can’t be squared. If you’re so convinced that the stance of Mogadishu warlords is for righteous and honorable cause you’ve indeed sunk your soul in the drainage’s ditch, saaxiib.

And unless you’re dwelling in the lower levels of this discussion, I can’t be possibly described as a clique of the old man. There’re (mind you) many active members in this forum who take pride in him and revere him. I, on the other hand, have passed beyond the politics of sheer personalities. Principles are the axes of my thinking, saaxiib. I looked at the issues and found that the heart of the southern problem lies in the matters of land and properties. Without a reasonable resolution to it, I’ve concluded, the south is forever doomed.

Now back to the politics of the old man. In a pure coincidence he happens to be on the right side of the fence in relative comparison with hoodlum gangs in Xamar. Xamar, I hear him say, is not suitable to be the seat of this government for security reasons. The government, he ads, can’t be a polite and behaving guest to the very capital it claims as its seat. Implicit in these statements, is a fundamental challenge to the notion of rewarding the illegal gains of the civil war. It’s a political stance that nulls the political capital built on the stinking loots of the war. It also, and rightly so, registers with my consciousness.

In that (the old mans political pronouncement) I’ve agreed with him (or he has agreed with me) as I’ve always held that Somalis have no significant (with exception of Somaliland) political quarrel. It’s all about the resource of the south. The politics of Xamar and its warlords is the stray pullet that killed many in far and near. The unguided missile, so to speak, that destroyed everything in its path. Someone in somewhere has to correct this. And it’s time to deal with this ramping ilk. Here I stand and can do no other (pardon the Christian expression) saaxiib.

Horn, I expect you more than mere dismissals. Throw at me something that’s worthy of a response.

  4. Baashe cunningly wrote: 'My age? No problem! I will tell you but before I do that take a guess. If enough folks show interest then I will readily provide the numbers. I need 100 nomads to say YEY'

    1-Take a guess

2-Enough nomads show interest (100 nomads).

Don’t like to be the bearer of bad news for our Kaleidoscopic.

But some one got the sequence wrong! Some one counted before guessing first. don't ya see?

Would that make the result of our queen's poll null and void.

  5. So who’s going to fight such a lost cause, you’ve asked? Not me and certainly not Puntlanders.

    But here’s the old man’s disarming/winning strategy:

Contain the conflict in the south. How? Move the government some where in the south (Baydhabo or Jowhar). Then what? Call in foreign troops (sacrificial lambs for the cause you deemed it lost); secure the endorsement of the neighboring countries and dry up the logistical support of Xamar warlords; extend government authority to the north of the city (Xamar that is), as it is teaming with supporters of the Prime Minster (Geedi) and therefore address the concerns of those who insist this government be in it.

What about Kismayo and Marka? The sheer presence of the government in Baydhabo & Jowhar (North of Xamar) will sure beat the day light out of the settlers in those occupied lands. As for the actual fighting (if it comes to that), let the Sudanese and Ugandans do it(saaxiib reer magaal ma diriro ee waa loo dagaalamaa).

what about pseudo sheikhs and holy-worrier-want-to-bes, let Xiinfaniin show the holes of their argument and make them shiver in the nakedness (can’t fight for what’s not yours).

P.S; Sarcastic they may be, but the guilt of the wicked is still raw! and they're,well, just settlers.

  6. Actuality on the southern theater:

-Bravo, Marka, and Kismayo are illegally occupied cities by either Xamar warlords or their proxies.

-The followers of these warlords illegitimately occupy public and private properties in Xamar.

    Imaginary tale:

-Xamar is defamed and intentionally singled out by bunch of clannish haters.

    Real intention:

-To retain and keep the booty of civil war (Xamar included) and delay governance in the hope that the defeated lot would just vanish or give up (xalaaleysi).

    Smokescreen:

    -Ethiopia is coming.

    Inevitability and political eventualities:

-Relinquish and surrender what does not belong to you (cities & properties) or die fighting for the loot.

    Alternative:

-Real reconciliation, where land (cities) and property issues are adequately addressed and resolved (demos wont do it saaxiib).

  7. I thought our respected Nur understood the intentions of this lost sheep!

This apostate, good Nur, is re-fighting the old and lost battles. He can BUT debate. Don’t you signify his wicked sermons by periodically interjecting and stating the obvious! The dilemma is how can you contain the leak of his impious homilies that he continuously spoils this forum with, yet provide the platform from which he launches. You’ve offered him podium and less learned nomads are exposed to this constant bombardment of misleading quotes from their holy book!

Send him to the Politics forum where trigger-happy nomads await him. Or ban and get rid off him. Do some thing, brother Nur, before we all catch his contagious infection.

--draws his sword and wields it, then shakes his head and walks away---

  8. Is this another schmooze and nightly gossip of the mouthers of have-truths? Are the tramplers of the city hiding behind the mist of nationalism? Where are you going with this saaxiib?

Ethiopia is an opportunistic foe whose prey happens to be tantalizingly easy to kill. But hey it’s not wayaane who suffocated and sucked the oxygen out of that city! It’s not they who continue to milk south’s fertile land. And certainly they are not the ones who illegally occupy (I am hitting a raw nerve here) cities and properties (yes in o-gaden, but not in Mogadishu) in that beloved city. The irony is that significant number of the potential demonstrators resides in ill-gained shelters (public or private).

Tell me some thing positive saaxiib like; tobonaan kun baa guryihii xaaraanta ahaa iskaga baxay ama salaatul istighfaar bay tukadeen.

  9. Very interesting and peculiar move indeed. If it’s a tactical and strategic maneuvering from his part remains to be seen. After all, loosing trivial skirmishes to win significant and major battles is the art of warfare. Alas who would get satisfaction from little successes when legendary victories are in reach? I would expect Hiiraale to join soon.

The stage’s set for the old man so lets watch how this political drama unfolds.

  10. Baashow, you’ve just complicated my life in SOL. :D

As I wouldn’t want be subjected to the America’s label infringement laws, would you do me a favor and verify that you have no claim for these following names:

Ay-xaaji boodey, Macley, Sokorey, Butaaco, and my favorite of all: Falxado.

Enchantment (I am tempted to use Butaaco), ma haddaad Baashe (Ilaahay uun baa ka weyn) ila sintay? redface.gif

  11. Qalanjo, I am not a psychology major and I don’t know much bout mental illness maladies but Buufis is a symptom of a clinically depressed individual. It (the word that is) was coined to describe the weird and disturbing acts of those whose minds were affected and injured by the tragedy of the southern conflicts (civil war).

As for your inquiry about the specific meanings of those two words (islahadashay/islahadlay), I can only say it’s not that different (in its meaning) than that of Buufis.

That’s my two cents, and pardon the rubbish I spewed before your royal highness.

P.S: you called me Oday, soo maaha? :D

  12. You see, Xoogsade, I just posted this piece precisely to make the likes of you happy and to keep this forum a live and worthy of the visit! As for the ‘cafis’ and hurting feelings, Xaashaa awoowe!

In all honesty, that discussion was useful and informative. And though fiercely heated at times, and bordering to ranting at others, it didn’t spin off the track. As a mature debater I would expect you appreciate other side’s argument. My intention was not to blow a hot ear to that city (Xamar that is ). It was not to breath your neck and blackmail you to hastily admit the guilt of the civil war. No hard feeling bro.

P.S: I disagree with Fahad’s analysis (though he’s an old friend of mine and real Muqdishaawi who can--like xiinfaniin--speak and write like GALTI).
