  1. I am with MMA on this. Simple translates to cheap and quick. Huge weddings are waste of everything. If you can, do throw a medium, classy, and on the expensive side of a wedding. "danbi baan diidayaa" is the sorry excuse of a lot of broke people. If every other facet of your life doesnt include religion, then why should you justify your faqiirnimo with "danbi ma rabo"?
  2. Happy Anniversary SOL! I have been a member since 2005. 7 years??? That cannot be right!! Anyhoo, this is the forum that made me develop some respect for Somalis; it taught me how to attack people, defend my crazy ideas, present my crazy dillemas like the time the crazy woman and her husband approached me at a gas statation for a "chat"! It's been fun, frustrating yet memorable years.
  3. I see male baldness everywhere! Timihi maxaa ku dhacay?
  4. We all know that men are superior, intelligent, powerful, reasonable beings; look how peaceful, wonderful, smoothly run and habitable the world they run is!! You arent convinced yet? Look at this thread; ah, the level-headed, well reasoned arguments devoid of "emotions" and "overreactions." Yaa salaam. Live long the superior sex!
  5. Morning folks. Perfect weather today. I wanted to turn around and do something fun during my commute.
  6. He is the missing the other "facade hell hole" miyaa? Why does he remind me Max? it is like a deja vu.
  7. I think I dress for myself and for other females. You certainly don't want them describing you as sloppy or frumpy. And females notice and judge other females more than the male species. Who dresses up for men? They arent really thaaaaaaaat important anyways.
  8. LOL@"is that your hair." It is the same thing with "cleaning" your eyebrows. Most girls do it but I heard somewhere it is haram. The first time I put extentions my hair was long and blond so it came out nice. But the second time, I really felt like I could've gone with my natural hair. It didnt make any difference; it just gave me a fuller body. But I hated taking them out afterwards. I'm trying to grow my own hair now. I bought some vitamins for hair and nails. If it is a body you are after, do lots of curls.
  9. Though I have always heard that hair extentions are haraam, I can't remember the exact daliil. I think it falls under the whole "don't-adopt-false-appearances-"law. I had extentions put in twice: one about 6 years ago and the other last year. I didnt like the experience.
  10. Happiness is an elusive feeling. I look for contentment in general rather than the euphoric feeling of happiness.
  11. Norf, Ilaahay ha u naxariisto. Morning folks! I can't tell wether my collegues are all nice or pretending to be nice. Either way, it is nice to feel welcome.
  12. Happy Friday!!! As this day contains a blessed hour where wishes and prayers are granted, I wish you all cimridheer iyo camal wanaagsan. Bal anigana ii soo duceeyaa as I am waiting on some news regarding my teaching career. NG, If they only knew how you abuse SOL newbies, they would send to both anger management and sensitivity training. So be glad it is only first aid. Hello gabdho!!
  13. It would be the most amazing feeling to have a functioning and peaceful place to call "HOME!" I died of jelousy when I went to Kenya and saw what a functioning goverment, however corrupted, looks like. Now if we could only have Shariif take governing courses so that he can lead the country out of the darkness.
  14. May this be the peace that lasts. Aameen!
  15. Juxa and Malika, Thanks. I got out and got fresh air and fresh perspective on things. Daaqada dhowr ahaa isku furnaa though nothing seriously exhousting. I will see my doc. soon IA. Nuune, Maxaa is qarxiskan? NG exactly said what he meant. Yaa turjubaan u noqo, oo fashil dadka kugu dhahay? In Tuujiye's words, wareer badanaa. LOL!

As a reminder...Allah did not give you freedom of choice to go sleep with a drunkard, wear a bikini or a thong or mix/beautify yourself infront of non-mahram men etc etc. Its grossly unIslamic and you are doing it at your own peril. Each and every member who have posted here, knows this. These are exactly sort of freedom the West has corrupted your soul with. They say follow ur heart. It has been noted that more Somali muslim women are now becoming more pious following their faith but look at you with your treacherous comments!! You should hold your head down in shame and guilt. Final thot: And reminding you your position in deen & society is not sexism. It is what is required from us because we as muslims owe each other sincere advice. A tradition of our Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) It would do your comprehension of the English language good if you printed out my statement and re-read it as many times as possible. My head is, unfortunetly, held up way too high; too bad you can't cut it off!
  17. Thank you all. I shall pay a visit to my doctor even though I hate him. Gaalada waad dad waalan, they'll scare you death.

Socialize with like-minded folks. If you don't have good ones then time to widen your circle of friends -- not like facebook types. I am talking about local ones. Where is your hubby? No hubby yet time to seriousely start the vetting process. The process in itself is time consuming and exciting... Qallanjo nagu soo war celi dee bal in xaal is beddelo Well, aniga waxaan ba ku leeyahay zero interest and energy baan haystaa, adigana get involved in causes baad leedahay. Marka hore soo inaad helo ma aha energy aan ku dhaq dhaqaaqo? Mideeda kale Hubigu daawo ma ahan and neither is dating or searching. Marka bal ii sheeg good remedies.

As JB suggested too, if there are any changes in your life (big or small), it could be due to that as well...Good luck, I know how it feels! Hopefully, it is nothing serious and will pass shortly... Ughh..so many things to check. WMD is even mentioning diabetes? I was iron deficient not too long ago so I will go back to my supplements. Thanks Cadeey.

Africa ha igu soo hadal qaadin ba. I was sold empty promises of hot sun, fresh food and air but all I got was chilly weather, polluted air, trashy streets and meat from our own very refrigerator. Showqi, I excercise after work. I tried all your other suggestions. Thanks.
  21. JB, Hmmm...come to think of it, there are a couple of situations I'm apprehensive about. The reason I didnt think of them is I'm not sad or depressed. I'm physically drained. LST, I always see Vitamin B12 supplements on the shelves but I have no clue what they are or what they do. I shall ask my uncle google. NG, I wish boredom was the issue, then I would start drama on SOL and get it over with.
